You forgot Kael'thas Sunstrider. He was so broken they re-nerfed him after they un-nerfed him in Wild.

You should have mentioned oaken summons with vargoth. If you drew it and highrolled you summoned a 4/10 with taunt, vargoth himself and gained 12 armor. This alone made druid absolutely curbstomp any aggro decks for the longest time.
Kael'thas Sunstrider really didn't make the cut? Idk if I really can say Marin has broken Hearthstone at this moment, I never tear my hair out when I play against him(:

Oaken Summon into Vargoth into 5/10 taunt. You gain 12 armor draw two cards and summon two minion for just 4 mana.

Do what battlegrounds was like in 2019 and 2020 with poison divine shild murlocs
Still as imbalanced, now it's just hungry demons or nagas (or both) - personslly love it, but the tribes without stats growing the same way just feel awful

Ok genuinely can we talk about how BROKEN marin the manager is compared to the other cards in this game that give you fantastic treasures? Like the original marin was 8 whole mana and you had to kill an 8 health minion to get a completely random fantastic treasure. And then there was the toggwaggle that only worked if you had a lacky on the board and it didn’t shuffle the other fantastic treasures into the deck. It BAFFLES me how much this game has been powercrept that the new marin is just straight up 7 mana choose a fantastic treasure shuffle the others into your deck.

kind of bizarre that a card that makes you deck size bigger is an autoinclude. I play Magic, where it's commonly understood that having your deck as close to the minimum size allowed by regulations is optimal because it makes the deck more consistent. A few years ago they printed a card that made you run 20 extra cards in your deck and that was a drawback in deck construction.
If there was a card that let your deck size and health be 20 it would be way stronger for that reason. In renethals case you didn’t need consistency you just ran a greedy pile of 40 cards with no real strategy, it was wack

Cool vid! I feel like no discussion about snip-snap is complete without mentioning how OBNOXIOUS that combo is to actually watch play out. The game isn't actually over when snipsnap is dropped because the animations took a million years, so opponents would often rope before getting that attack in. If I'm playing the deck I'm getting apm tested like no one's business and if I'm playing against it I'm watching for 30 seconds hoping the opponent is an old man and can't handle the heat, and i think that's just icing on the cake to how ridiculous this was
I actually like your top 5 videos. I been watching Rarran, and he's pretty good, but he sort of only scratches the the surface crust. I feel like you get right into the meat and gravy, if you will.

true, i quit when stormwind released and renathal brought me back. then i lef again when he hot nerfed. attrition players never get to have fun anymore 😢

I was playing odyn warrior against another control deck and they generated a heyla and so both of us in fatigue i was taking 3 plauges a turn. I used goblet to fill my hand with plauges to then burn them. Then i used monkey to turn all the plauges in my hand to legendarys and it was nuts

Just came back to hearthstone after 5 years I saw this and realized how big the power creep became I mean 1 mana less then it’s counter part you don’t have to break a chest and get to shuffle the other three into your deck like tf

Renathal was wonderful. It allowed games to last longer than 5 minutes before blizzard went "well kids, time to move on to the next game."
Edit: comparing snip-snap (dead on turn 4 if you're unlucky) with Renathal (make games slightly longer than 5 minutes) is wild :D

Renathal wonderful? 😂, the card that made greedy decks not just viable but meta... starting with druid, i don't know where people started to idealize Renathal.
@DavidPachón8591 it was a breath of fresh air from non-stop, relentless aggro making every game snowball to victory within minutes. Maybe long term it wasn't a good idea, but I wouldn't say it broke the game.
@@luketerimz3117 oh really? Tell me exactly what were those unbeatable aggro decks back then and i will start to believe you, all nathria was greedy crap.
@@luketerimz3117 and yes, Renathal did broke the game making the greedy decks way more viable against their only bad matchup just because they had at the start of the game +10 life and made the decks way more expensive/value dependant, at least on standard, wild is another thing since aggro has more tools to deal the most damage (that's why Renathal does not break Wild).

Renathal saved Hearthstone from mindless aggro meta to some degree and enabled us to play some slower decks and test funny ideas. In no way did it break Hearthstone
renethal was unhealthy and nerfed for a reason :)

@@JordanMG but it was an infinite damage combo created by snipsnap that led to IT being nerfed instead of snipsnao, which is exactly what you were talking about with those other "not free" cards.
Reckless experimenter, mech warper, and summoning portal aren't free either @JordanMG

None of these cards come CLOSE to the absolute BROKENNESS that was Kael'thas Sunstrider. He made TURN ONE OTKS POSSIBLE (or at least set up unlosable board states). And you put Renathal (???) and Marin (???????) over him?
