I think some churn of interest/players is natural. Hearthstone's not really in that bad of spot right now, we've all just experienced it at such a high for so many years. I have faith 🤞
I played Hadronox Taunt Druid back in the Witchwood era, and Naturalize was often used to kill your own Hadronox to get it in the rez pool for Witching Hour. Wild Growth and Nourish were both eventually nerfed and Naturalize was hall of famed partially due to that deck.
Shadowboxer wasn't nerfed until Zilliax came out and made the combo much more consistent. The elixir having a 1 in 4 made the deck too memey to actually work.
I could sworn it was nerfed for ankote consistent version, but the nerf date was before zilliax release date so if it was because of zili then it was preemptive
Maybe it didnt really break the game per se but speaking about Druid removal that was terrible but eventually became super good, there is also Poison Seeds
Fandral used to have a bug interaction with a card that gives a minion +5/+5 and taunt. With fandral you could give it to your hero and gain permanently +5 attack, health and taunt as well
I use Invitation Courier to duplicate the cards from Renounce Darkness, in fact they recently buffed it to apply the discount to the duplicates! Probably my favorite deck in Hearthstone
If I remember correctly for holy wrath there was a combo that Toast used with Hemet, jungle hunter from Ungoro (7 years ago, I feel old) that remove card that cost 3 or less in your deck with a deck with only 3 or less card + holy wrath + molten giant. I don't remember it being meta breaking but it was a "kinda" viable (from memory) and funny
Watching this years after stopping hearthstone. I really expected nozdormu on the list as he never was a strong card to begin with, but during that time where you could take up your opponents entire turn with animations and then keep on playing your own turns he was really gamebreaking.
Noo my boy shadowboxer was sick back in the day, boy went so hard in my midrange priest I might have been the only soul on this planet playing priest at that time, but trust me that spidey boy was Great!!
what about bloodbloom? it was seen as a bad card on release but after some time it started showing up in mecha'thun decks and finally got nerfed when darkest hour got printed
Remember Wretched Tiller and Hysteria Priest in wild? That was DEFINITELY a sleeper hit. Also, I remember the maxima balsteiner bug and i always wondered…how did ANYONE figure that out? Its such a specific set of circumstances…who is playing maxima and pulling out 8 attack cthun. Like it just seems so unlikely to be discovered 😂
You should check out the prequel to this sequel 😂 Idk how someone found it, but it was an overflow bug when summoned from deck, so they may have noticed it elsewhere and went looking for an easier to perform option
Ironically, before sorcerers apprentice rework, there is a long time before people figured that Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher has a hilarious combo with her and Anthonidas. Due how cost reduces applied.
I'm unsurprised to hear that a c'thun bug was involved in this video lol, seems to have a lot of weird interactions in general. I remember one time I was doing a dungeon run, got a bucket with two copies of c'thun and one buffer, turned out if you have two c'thuns, it doesn't know which to give the buffs to, so it just doesn't apply to either 💀
found you as a recommendation on youtube while watching rarran just finished this video really good content will be subscribing watching all your other videos
@@JordanMG in plants vs zombies heroes this combo was way more popular and unfun, and is still active, while the game in general is dead. Heartichoke is a heart artichoke that for each point of damage you healed to a friendly character, it dealt as much damage to the enemy hero. max hp is 20, deck size 40, and Astrovera is basically active Vampiric Blood on a 5/5
i disagree on naturalise, the card was fringe, when classic came back there were mill lists, it was good into low number of threat decks like rogue, warrior, freeze mage. the card for sure got better over time since giving value mattered less because acquiring value has gotten easier, to a point where it might just be one of the best removal in the game alongside light it burns, bladestorm.
Every video on youtube has up to 3 different thumbnails now...although a user is only supposed to see 1 per test UA-cam runs 😂 I guess you're special and got to see all 3 🔥
Nononono. Nooooo. Where is the rogue combo card that dealt one damage for every card you played before? Like come one probably one of the strongest cards that was useless back in the day. It got nuked too which half of the cards showed didnt.
I'm glad that channels like this exists nowadays, but sad cuz the Game development right now don't improve to bringing new players

@@JordanMGnatural progression of any media tbh
I feel like cataclysm deserves a shoutout, it went from "worse card in the expansion" to "holy moly this is broken"
Huge glow up
if this somehow is liked enough to warrant a 3rd i'll definitely put that on there that's a phenomenal one
To be fair most discard warlock cards can be classified this way
Catacylsm was in Mecathun Warlock with bloodbloom in standard, so it saw meta play even if it wasn't as comically broken as it became.

Holy wrath about to go wild next set when they add that 100 mana guy 👀
I remember Invitation Courier because of the interaction with Maestra of the Masquerade and Potion Belt that gave 4 of the same Mixed Concoction.
🔥
That BTD6 soundtrack gave me whiplash
Also shadow boxer and tiller are my favorite two "wtf why is this broken" cards
Absolute staples of this genre
Shadowboxer should've been changed to damaging a random enemy minion.
Kills the OTK combo but buffs the normal use of the card
Maybe it didnt really break the game per se but speaking about Druid removal that was terrible but eventually became super good, there is also Poison Seeds
indeed!

😂

I feel like toast played exclusively decks that were good for clip farming 😂
@@JordanMG Those are the most fun decks to play though. The meme-ier, the better.
@@antoineguerrier2965 certainly! They just dont also apply to being overpoweredly "broken" lul
Doesn't help the fact that Toast really made the holy wrath deck popular back then
🤔
Such an underrated channel! Keep up the amazing content :)
Thanks, will do!

More of a game breaking bug than power level, but certainly notable!
Love the message at the end of the video!
I had absolutely _no_ idea about the Drinks-Invitation Courier interaction until now. Wow. That's a pretty cool _(and powerful)_ interaction. :o
Currently tier 1 in Wild 😂 although the invitation courier may just be an ETC card now because of all the spell damage 🤔

Post nerf sorcerers apprentice is a great example of this, nobody played it at 4 mana until this year
Card kept getting stronger overtime that doubling its cost eventually wasnt enough 😂
Ironically, before sorcerers apprentice rework, there is a long time before people figured that Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher has a hilarious combo with her and Anthonidas. Due how cost reduces applied.
11:55 Speaking of underpowered cards that rocked wild, as well as game-breaking bugs, anyone here remember Druid's 0 mana 6/6?
I covered that in '5 Bugs that BROKE Hearthstone' 👀
@@JordanMG Yeah you totally did lol

lol next time for sure 🤞
For some reason, I never heard of Shadowboxer combo. Thank you for the video! Your content is always amazing!
No problem! It's a pretty old combo at this point!
I wonder what happens when you try to Blastenheimer the Darkness
Pretty sure it summons a dormant minion that results in -1 board space 😂
IIRC shadowboxer was nerfed when zillax was released, as it gave you a non RNG way to give it lifesteal
Shadowboxers time was limited as soon as lifesteal was printed 😂
