Shout out to the caverns below (quest rogue). Two major nerfs, yet still was broken enough in boomsday to have people crying for a third (part of it was how unfun the deck was to face). Ultimately the nerfs to giggling inventor and sonya killed the deck, without any more hits to the quest itself. Eventually the nerfs to the quest were reverted in 2021 (so maybe doesn't qualify?)

I'm either very dumb or not fluent enough in english, but you did not explain what happened to Illidan. Did the card literally get taken out of the game? did they change the name, art and effect? huh?

I feel like the solution to Demon Seed, not that I've played the game since like...Festival of Legends, is to just make it so that you *both* take the damage, not just your opponent. Hopefully that would annihilate the fucking card.

The consistent issue is being able to play a ton of cards on a single turn or reducing the cost of cards to 0. They need to just limit how many you can play per turn and make it so cards can never cost less than one mana.

I've been playing HS since beta and I've never heard anyone call anything "warsonged." Not saying it's not true, but I don't think its that common.

I knew the anubarak change happened but only because I play solo adventures and I got an anub arak that cost 0 once. meant they had to kill the 8/4, get a 4/4 on board and on my turn I just summoned anub arak for free again making my board precence impossible to fully clear as very few bosses are priest

I really enjoyed the depth and thoroughness of the documentary. (pretty much what it is) I can't lie when I say that recent Hearthstone just feels wrong with all the nerfs and I hope they stop printing completely broken cards.

I mean im sorry but Reno is the only way to actually remove all this deathrattle reborn bs from the board at all..... Instead of making Minions impossible to get rid off.... maybe limit the removal that all classes have access to....

I feel like another Option for Reno would be way more counterplay to the 10 mana. Like returning that the deck has to have started as highlander and still not contain duplicates. Also you could have made the card only destroy minions and maybe for all minions destroyed they lose one board space, so its not that crushing

On the other end of the spectrum from Open the Waygate; have you done a video with Lakkari Sacrifice? I can't think of a worse card that Blizzard made. It was bad on release and has only depreciated over time.

The white baby murloc in the I am Murloc is one of the original 3 super duper premium murloc pets you could ONLY get if you had pulled the card in the TCG (the physical game that crawled so that Hearthstone could fly)

Replacing succubus with a felstalker was a huge nerf which did nothing 😊

If you want to just kill the Demon Seed already, make it so instead of redirecting the damage you take, it converts it into demons with that many stats. And probably nerf the step-by-step reward too, 'cause I've heard people usually win before they even play the quest reward.

Haven't played Hearthstone since the boycotts started years ago, but Theotar, the Mad Duke seems like an awesome card. Fuck my opponents annoying ass combos, lol. Wish we had that back when I played.

Nothing quite like beating my opponent’s BS nonsense OTK combo deck with Theotar in my fair and balanced midrange control deck. I still miss him every day he’s not in standard.

So cataclysm was a crazy card, it was one of the major pieces of one of my favorite decks that I've ever played that I've never seen anyone else play: quest warlock. Play quest, fill your hand as fast as possible, turn 4 play cataclysm, turn 5 play the portal, if I was lucky, I would also have 3+ Jekliks in hand at the time I played it, and no one knew how to deal with it (I only managed to break into silver rank once dk came out, so being in bronze might've had something to do with that). Didn't matter what I discarded, I discarded the Guldan hero card more times than I could remember, all that mattered was I got the quest completed. The deck was relatively successful up until reno came out, and was still okay up until Sargeras came out and he has a portal that's way better. I crafted a golden version of the quest because I liked it so much.

I think what's insane is the fact that Reno Lone Ranger, is BASICALLY The Amazing Reno from Galakrond era, which wasn't good because the hero power change would often fuck you more than the opponent. Guess what? It also poofs the board, but it's not FUCKING ONE SIDED, LET ALONE LIMITS BOARD SPACE, and it has a often bad hero power... AND IT'S ALSO RENO, WHY DOES THIS CARD EXIST?! UGH, it's such a lazy handout for all highlander decks, I am a highlander player, I HATE this card, because now all my fucking decks look the same, there's no identity to any of it, there's nothing other than "Oh ho, I summon Reno... And then another Reno..." In the past it was just Mage that had more than 1.
