Genuinely the best times I've ever had in this game. Galakrond Rogue was my favourite. Did it get me to Legend? No (in fact I never got there in my life q_q), but it was fun to play. :)
Honorable mention to beta face hunter when release the hounds effect was "give each beast charge and +1/+1" for 1 mana It also got one of the most useless nerfs ever they removed the extra +1 health it gave changing nothing because its main use was killing consistently in turn 3-4
played since launch, had some less active expansions, but been and seen them all. patches still gives me a slight migrane. doesnt matter even if i win or its played from hand or a random result. that thing just haunts me. shows you how much it affected.
These videos make me feel soooo old, i never imagined that someone would make videos of things that i experienced there, i remember watching the grand tournament annauncement on day one and now i just watch people beeing like did you know this card existed?? And im like i had that in golden and played it in every deck(i forgot her name but she always said: welcome to the grand tournament, champion), its like my all time favourite card too, raza the chained
For me, I started playing around mean streets. Decks I remember being really oppressive besides pirate warrior which was on this list are also jade druid and quest rogue. I’ve been playing since but honestly can’t think of anything else in standard.
I said it at the time and I still hold that all they had to do to Warsong Commander was make her effect a passive that gives Charge to your minions that have 3 or less attack. Meaning if a minion ever goes over 3 attack it loses Charge. Much tamer than gutting the poor girl like they did and likely would of been a healthy change keeping the deck alive but nerfed enough.
A funny (but likely ineffective) nerf they could have done was make patron a 4/3 or 4/2. Yeah, you'd stille have frothing berzerker combos, but the patrons themselves being unable to attack would limit it a bit
Patches thinning being relevant is one of the biggest myths in hearthstone, thinning in anything that isn't combo is changes so little that you may as well just ignore it. Patches was busted because free tempo is busted, how would have seen the exact same amount of play if he required you to play 31 cards.
Ah yes, day one Demon Hunter. I remember the time where I (with a little bit of help) build a deck specifically to counter Demon Hunter. I think it is a Dragon Warlock.
i rember sooo many decks ( i started playignaround un goro) quest rouge, keleseth rouge, pirate warrior, jade druid razakus priest all the galakronds decks were so funny and... controll warrior with dr. boom or cubelock miss these days so much
Back when flamewreathed faceless came out, pretty sure there was no standard rotation? I remember Kibler had been advocating for a standard format for quite some time before it happened.
Im still in shock of the early facehunters beta unleash the hounds and even after the change with the buzzard i still remember a game where i got the turn 1 yeti with druid and still lost
Release the hounds was warsonged during beta ^^ It went from +1+1 and charge for all beasts to +1+0 and charge for all beasts to get a 1/1 with charge for each creature your oppenent has for 1 mana. During beta release the hound otk was oppressive
I honestly think the whole Grim Patron thing got better with Risky Skipper. It may not be the same cards as before, but I think it's an upgrade. Much easier to tutor pirates and damage your own minions so Frothing can still do a lot of damage.
I really enjoyed Shaman those days , I haven’t the cards to play secret pala (cause I played zoo warlock) , I didn’t play DH day one cause all people played so much
You are not completly right about the patches situation, warrior was not the best class to use it, it was just the most populair one, but shaman was best on release in higher legend Fun video, brings back nostalgia
Ehat about raza priest? EDIT: I guess it wasn't on the level of stuff like pirate warrior and undertaker hunter... although is it weaker than secret paladin and grim patron warrior?
Miracle rogue was the 2nd best deck in classic and there was probably a time it was best but mill druids peak is probably in recent day wild, historically it's mostly just been obnoxious 😂
I thought maybe Crystal Cave Rogue was going to be mentioned. It works on ladder to curb control decks. Loses to pirate rogue and pirate priest every time
I mean this days with how brutally far power creep has gone, decks from like a year ago or even less sometimes are just unplayable because of all the absolutely nutty stuff they release every expac.
in hindsight the other cards overshadowered it tbh but putting a 7/7 on turn 4 with 3 good starting turns was a good nail in the coffin for the opponent also buffs tunnel trogg
The value and tempo you can get from cards these days makes it so hard for me to come back to the game. Most of the decks i used to love aren't even slightly viable anymore because their win conditions are just worse than some modern decks turn 4, 5, or 6 curve fillers. I used to love monkey priest, but replacing youe habd and deck with random legendaries doesnt really achieve anything now. Oh you've got a bunch of legendaries? Cool, take 30 from denathrius (or some other wincon).
You either die a heroic balanced game or live long to be a villanous money maker. Theres no inbetween, power creep is inevitable in all card games. As its the only incentive to sell packs. I know its hard truth to swallow. People who play to have fun, spend less money than people who want to win. And people who win, spend longer time in your game than people who play to have fun. As they will be more invested both physically and emotionally.
I have only ever played off meta decks. if you dont play supported packages and netdecks it is physically impossible to get into legend. T. Shaman player with 3k wins, and permanently resides in diamond 3 when I decide to log in.
Edit:If this is about Wild only, thats fine, but it gets even more confusing if its not maaaaan. You are talking about DECKS THAT WERE DOO DOO,but your whole video consisted of videos of mix modern, recent cards. Its confusing.Same as doing a video about roasting beef, and using pork instead. Downvote from me for that man.
@@JordanMG I don't think response in this way is helpful for You. I gave you a criticism about your video. @y2bgenie438 the video was talking about iconic hearthstone decks that were previously at the top of the meta (very strong, overpowered decks) and whilst talking about them and there history I played them today to compare them...what are you talking about...it has nothing to do with wild...these decks dominated standard when they were around in standard (or just hearthstone before 2 formats in some cases)

Just another day in Wild.
Remember when Galakrond was a sick playable archetype? Me too
those were great times

Warrior Galakrond for days
Me smack you in face
Pre-nerf Galakrond Shaman though, with the worst matchup being the mirror match lmao
Galakrond decks are still my favourite.
watching him talk about how good shaman used to be while watching the priest doing their bs was funny af
😂
Remember when Priest was pretty universally regarded as the worst class?
there should be a limit like a max number of card you can play per turn like 12 or 15
Honorable mention to beta face hunter when release the hounds effect was "give each beast charge and +1/+1" for 1 mana
It also got one of the most useless nerfs ever they removed the extra +1 health it gave changing nothing because its main use was killing consistently in turn 3-4

I remember the Turn 7 Hunter from the Beta/Release. You could play control until you hit 7, then the OG versions of Buzzard, Hounds and Timber Wolf
ancient times 🙆♂️
Patches thinning being relevant is one of the biggest myths in hearthstone, thinning in anything that isn't combo is changes so little that you may as well just ignore it. it's true, its negligible upside over numerous games
I still use "EVERYONE! GET IN HERE!"
heck yea
Once I reached Legend with post-nerf grim patron warrior, at the time no one used 3+ damage AOE so, it was just a delayed value-oriented version
fun!
Ah yes, day one Demon Hunter. I remember the time where I (with a little bit of help) build a deck specifically to counter Demon Hunter. I think it is a Dragon Warlock.

Incredible video. Try a new video with cubelock, plague jade druid, freeze mage
I got legend with Secret Pally and lost to many Grim Patrons along the way.
Back when flamewreathed faceless came out, pretty sure there was no standard rotation? I remember Kibler had been advocating for a standard format for quite some time before it happened.
4 mana 7/7, WoTG Expansion, and the standard format being introduced were all the same patch according to the wiki
Shaman with that 36% win rate is way more interesting than how good DH was
ah yes, hearthstone before quest mage was printed. what a fun blast from the past
Ah man, i loved aggro shaman back in the day. Good times. Havent touched this game in years tho lol

For sure, Warrior as a class got better with Risky Skipper that card goes so hard
20 min no likes? No worries, I've put mine.

Yea Shaman came like right after warrior and 1 upped it, it’s all relative to particular times
Ehat about raza priest?

Could include it if you wanted this isnt every deck ever it's just some of them
those were the days! I havent plaed hs ever since! Only bg now!
both great games!
Patches played in wild without charge.
-Imagine Leeroy being playable without charge.
😂 I dont think any other card could survive losing charge without significant adjustment to compensate 😂
Man, I really should play Naxx now that I bought it so I can have my diamond Loatheb.
for some reason I thought miracle rogue and mill druid were more oppressive than they were, but those were fun decks :p
Miracle rogue was the 2nd best deck in classic and there was probably a time it was best but mill druids peak is probably in recent day wild, historically it's mostly just been obnoxious 😂
4 mana 7/7 was even getting cut from Aggro Shaman decks by the end.
Well yea aggro shaman still exists in some form 🤔 powercreep go brr!
actually epic content

Another deck which was oppressive and still good is probably jade druid
Pretty sure GvG Tempo mage started mid range as an archetype unless you want to argue that it was classic hunter
Demon hunter. What if Lifesteal shaman, shamans tokens and battlecry deal damage shaman but better. Shaman but green.
The Green archetype should definitely be nerfed, way too strong when my opponent greens my minions.
What about the infinite shudderwock deck?
more or less been great in wild ever since
@@JordanMG I know the card is still good, but the original version with the leach, chain gang, and snow guy was the best.
Couldn’t the OG 4 mana 7/7 be good now with overdraft?🤔 I could see that and shock hopper being good in a combo/ OTK deck
🤔
Dr. Boom has left the chat
wrong era/decks for the lad i guess
Did aggro shaman even play the 7/7? I thought he was considered too slow, and was usually cut by higher lvl players?
in hindsight the other cards overshadowered it tbh
but putting a 7/7 on turn 4 with 3 good starting turns was a good nail in the coffin for the opponent
also buffs tunnel trogg
that may or may not be true, but it didn't become as infamous as it is today by never being played 😅
It started as a 2 of, then a 1 of, then an occasional 1 of.

Wish you showed the cards you are talking about. Not everyone knows what every card does. Like grim patron deck you didn’t even show the namesake card
Fair, chose not to cover up the gameplay clips much but it woulda been worth it to show cards at start of each deck intro for ya
Jade shaman absolutely wrecked Pirate warrior as you could reliably clear their board and kill them on t 7-8.
indeed
@@JordanMG It was my first homebrew deck and it got close to legend. Good times

horribly slow - patron costs 5, which is the same as a million
decks that Tipped The Scales too far you say....

well yea they just dont play pirate in warrior at all anymore
it's still played quite a bit, but only on lower ranks

huge!
How could you not include "I summon an EVEN BIGGER MAN"?
