Two, these windows can be used in coastal enviornment, the type of finish just need additional treatment. Three, the insulation part, the manfacturers have come up with thermally broken windows to reduce any sort of heat and sound conduction. However, they should be considered as a long term investment rather than high cost. Lastly , 40% of all aluminium profile in the market is recylced from scrap. Hence, even after the design life of 50 years, your window still has a scrap value

Aluminium can use in coastal area with high quality Powdercoating not the local job coating ! Where ever in the world costal city you can see 99% aluminium windows and facade. In Kerala there is not much organisation they can provide high quality windows. And you have to discuss about thickness of aluminium and other characteristics like hardness, angularity etc. People only aware about the square feet price not about what it deliver if they ready to pay 10-15% more for quality material in aluminium.
In my opinion there is no significant advantage for wooden windows over Aluminium windows in terms of security because no intruders will try to break the whole window instead will try to break the window shutters which is not a big deal whether its a wooden window or Aluminium window and the only thing that matters is the window grill. Only the window grill can give the intruders a challenge if there is any. What do you think?
