I think this trend has been around forever. My grandmothers had bags of their knitting/crochet/books that would move around their houses depending on where they were. I have a little basket I take from room to room filled with my kindle, book (cause I still love the smell of a paper book 😅), wintergreen mints, scrunchie, pocket journal and pen. I love that it’s now called a house purse!! 👛 ❤

VERY TRUE!! isn't it funny how things get repackaged. I love the idea of a grandmother toting around her projects.

I always hear “trend” for things that existed for many years. My grandma was doing that 50 years ago. Very few things are truly new, other than tech. They’re just discovered by a generation that didn’t know about it.

I never cared if someone had fakes and knockoffs unless they were trying to pass them off as authentic and sell them. I also don't think knockoffs and knockoffs are that terrible, I guess I can understand people not wanting the same packaging as everyone else, but if it was a good *hotdups* , it makes sense that more people would want it, authentic or not.

This is why our grandmothers had baskets with sewing, knitting, etc. As well, many older people nowadays are surrounded by small tables by their favorite chair with all their meds, paper, pen, etc.

This reminds me of Flylady’s “Office in a Bag,” so she could take care of stuff no matter where she was: Back then, without so much technology, it meant a zippered binder with a convenient handle. Stationary or cards, Envelopes, stamps, paper, clips, pens, pencils, little calculator, rings for paper to write on, pockets to put things in. She was able to manage her own Appointments, contact information, Handle all of her mothers, financial and medical information… No matter where she was. She could be at a doctors appointment, in a waiting room, and her favorite chair, on the go, wherever. She also had something called a control journal, and you could print the pre-printed designs on your own if you wanted to create your own Flylady planner.

This is unrelated but it reminds me of my “pain pouch” I live with chronic pain & migraine. Multiple chronic illnesses. I wear/bring my pouch everywhere. I even have a work one. Oral pain meds, icy hot pads, TENS machine m, batteries, peppermint roller oil, my injections & supplies, and sunglasses. To name a few items I carry in my “pain pouch” I have it with me even if I’m just going to church. And comes with me room to room when I’m just at home also! It has been game changing for me! I should really do this; I always have kind of a nest of stuff around me and as I'm already carrying a lot of medical stuff from place to place in my house it makes sense to put my book and my journal and my Switch and my phone in one place. Great idea to use a clear concert bag, as I was rather annoyed to have to buy one of those for a festival earlier this summer - I already felt like it might be good for picnics but this would be such a great everyday use for it, and the fact it's transparent is even better because it means that if I'm going out I can just glance over and check that I've transferred anything I need from it (e.g. my daily meds case) into the handbag that goes outdoors with me.

Makes perfect sense even with a small house. I used a very nice basket purse from Longerberger Basket, that is open and stands up for my journaling to stationary that I can just pick up and tuck back away. I’m infamous for losing pens to mechanical pencils that is an excuse to raid the school supply area. I do add hand cream to individual makeup wipes. Yes a planner/s of from purse size to desk. I do use a digital for those times I do not carry my planner or just out and about. Another suggestion if you have a toddler set one up for them with purse size tissue, hand sanitizer maybe aa small activity book with color pencils. How about a treat you pack in there so when you are on the phone they have their little house bag.

I saw this, didn't think about reading because I'm kinda old school and just have a book, I think tiktok has turned reading into an aesthetic, with the annotating and highlighting etc, but I remember old school booktube where you got hate for even creasing your book, never mind writing in it!
What I love about this though is that it doesn't have to be just for reading, I'd use it for my chronic illness supplies, so extra painkillers, heat pads, lotions, ear plugs, things I need during the day and night, so I don't have to have multiples (although I do because I ended up always forgetting the bag anyway) it could be for anything you think you need at any time, so chargers, hobbies, maybe a lighter for the different candles in each room. Make one for cleaning supplies, etc etc. there are so many uses for this, and I think it's great we're rediscovering ways to make our lives easier

Your title caught my attention 😜 when I saw it in my homepage videos. I don’t have a Kindle (use iPad for audiobooks and other ISH, of course), so my intent wasn’t finding a bag for this. However, I have several Clear handbag/storage cases, as well as an unused makeup organizer, so I’m definitely going to start using these to store things I use frequently. I already had a journal inside of a Coach Notebook cover which was inside of smaller Clear Makeup bag, that fits nicely inside of the larger Clear handbag.
As some who is disabled, it really helps to have things you need readily accessible and inside of CUTEEE bags you already have! 💋🫶🏾💪🏾

Those could go In the office in a bag also.

I've been doing this because I'm awful about leaving things around and then cleaning and putting everything in a basket and losing the things I need lol. That plus roommates. I usually just carry around the bag i take to work, but having a separate bag for the house would be super helpful

I just found out today that there's a name for it. I don't have a Kindle but I do read from my iPad mini and have been carrying it with my house purse for almost 2 years now. I also carry my journal and my journaling stuff in there as well because I journal almost everyday.
I use a handbag organizer pouch that comes with little handles as my house purse. I find it very convenient because I can just put it in my tote bag if I want to take it to travel or anywhere.

The only time I use a “house purse” is my crochet supplies, medications, heating pad & heating blanket for my chronic pain, plus pillows for my back & underneath my elbows fellow crocheters aka Hookers,Knitters understand the importance of utilizing a pillows for support, etc.
Next y’all gonna hear about a “house 3 Tier Utility Rolling Cart Multifunction Organizer Shelf Storage Cart”
    Wait….. 🤔
This actually sounds better for myself & others who have disabilities &/or chronic pain
The cart would be easier in case your goodies and/or necessities etc. are heavy b/c you don’t have to carry it around & it’ll help with chronic pain and/or disabilities 🤔
If anyone uses this idea in a UA-cam TikTok give me a shout out please 😁
Now excuse me *runs to Amazon “

Ive had a house purse kind of always. Idk if I would call it that but I just never went from one place to the next without putting everything I want to bring in a bag. In the last 10 ish years I ended up using a fanny pack because Im autistic and I have kids and I have some essentials that I really need to have but if Im overwhelmed I wont be able to find those things if they arent on my body. So in times of hardship I have medication in my bag, tweezers, nail clippers, lip balm, a paper with my important info on it and my kids cause if I need to make a call or go to the bank or fill out a form I wont remember anyones basic info in a timely manner or at all...its kind of a script. Now that things in my life are feeling more stable i just have a regular cross body purse (just in case ai still want it to stick to me) and my house purse is more like a book bag with all my notebooks, planner, sketch pad, lap top, book etc and I can throw things in. I also have an outting bag which has all meds anyone could ever need, sunscreen, snack bag, wet/dry bag, baby wipes, extra hair things + chargers etc. Basically what the diaper bag did for us but then the kids grew out of diapers but we didnt grow out of needing a big bag of essentials ready to go. Also have a park bag and a beach bag and a rollerskates + eccessories bag ready to go. Also I keep all my skincare + makeup packed in a large travel bag cause theres always some dang reason I have to take all that stuff somewhere so I just dont put it away anymore 😅 way easier.
Other alternatives to the house purse are cargo pants, apron, robe with big pockets, basket, food tray and of course other types of bags like a book bag, a little back pack, tote with organisers 😅

This is an awesome idea. Thank you for sharing, I haven't seen this on TikTok yet. I think I'm going to find a caddy with a cupholder because I'm always leaving my drink somewhere and I never realize until I'm comfortable, and then I have to get up and hunt for it. Hopefully this will stop me from finding flat sodas in random places hours after I've lost them 😂

My grandmother, mom, children, mil and I all do this. It may be a cultural thing? You keep your stuff in a bag you are not using and take it room to room for convenience. Also it keeps your stuff from being spread out everywhere, you lose less items and your house is less cluttered . Especially with crochet, knitting and sewing items. No need to buy anything new. Use what you have.

The quality and workmanship of HQDUPS's high-end imitation bags are very satisfactory. The soft and delicate leather shows that the materials are quite good. The texture of the metal accessories also makes the bag look very high-end. The fine processing of details makes this bag look no less inferior to the original.

I carry my current book, glasses, bottle of water, I sometimes crochet or embroider, lotion, charger, I also have meds that I take over the course of a day that I keep in there, I have my laptop, my landline phone which is Bluetoothed with my cell so I can answer both phones... Obviously mine is a bit larger bag and I don't always carry laptop but I can if I want... Glad to see old ways being rediscovered
