Hey Mark, not sure if you’ll see this, but I would really appreciate a video on “Don’t Need Rules” by Kik Tracee. Such a kickass song, but I can’t find any lessons, chords, or tabs for it!
Great explanation! I was lucky enough to see the band on the Bad Reputation tour with Robbo, and all the subsequent line ups. Robbo's line up was the best, tightest version. They were on fire as a live band at this point, only AC/DC could match them. What's interesting is that Bad Reputation was 90% Scott although Robbo did do more than 3 solos and harmony guitars, He's on keys on Soldier of Fortune, Acoustic and Voice box on Killer Without a Cause as well as the stellar solos on Opium Trail, Killer and That Woman's Gonna Break Your Heart. Scott had no clue about the scales or chords he was playing, yet they played lots of Minor 7ths, Major 7ths, Sus 4 & 2, Augmented and Diminished chords as well, not many rock bands of their power did that. Robbo was a much more schooled musician than Scott- drums, cello, piano amongst other things- yet Scott was a natural writer, some of his solos pre Gary Moore were mini compositions like Michael Schenkers.
TL have always been my favourite band, and Bad Rep my favourite of all their LPs ever since the day it was released ....however I never properly appreciated the brilliant structures and subtleties of this song! Now I'll listen with even greater appreciation thanks to your superb explanation and demonstration - though I don't have the ability to play this myself. Brian Robertson always my favourite guitar player in the band, but this track demonstrates Scott's equal-but-different brilliance. 💯❤More Lizzy demos if you can please, especially anything from Jailbreak / JtFox / Bad Rep !!
Another gem from the Emerald Isle Mark! Great riffs from this track "Bad Reputation" that gets overshadowed by other Thin Lizzy tracks such "The Boys Are Back In Town" etc. Would love for you to do the iconic intro to the classic Thin Lizzy track "Cowboy Song". Crikey Mark you have not changed much from the days of having long flowing black locks and teaching "Eat The Rich" by Aerosmith. You might be like Dorian Gray😂😂😂You have been an absolute inspiration for many years and no one could ask for a better tutor and teacher on their guitar journey. Thank you. Keep rockin everybody.

Great videos...if you ever need a suggestion on a whole song then how about Thunder - Dirty Love. It's got some stuff that is tricky to learn.
