A road to dunk would be pretty interesting to see, you should definitely look into knees over toes training to put that to the test.

Sleep on the floor every day for a week! After a week you’ll likely be used to it and won’t want to go back. The health attributes to doing this are immensely beneficial! Read some studies and do some general research then you’ll see how awesome this idea would be for one of your week challenges!

You just need a proper training on jump approach and you'll grab the rim in no time (convert speed into thrust), considering you have kind of a heavy build this is a nice gain just from box jumping. Working on core strength and safe drop box landings is key too. I'm exited for a road to dunk, with your background it might be more accessible than you think!

Over a decade ago, I decided to see how far my vertical could go in a couple years of training and at 6ft, went from barely grazing the rim to one step 2 hand dunks maxing out at 36 inches of vertical but my standing reach is close to 8ft already. Seemed like squat power, overall fitness, plyometrics like what you are doing, practicing jumping with different approaches and surprisingly playing competitive pickup basketball seemed to help. Pretty sure if I had more time, could have broken the 40inch barrier to throw down dunks with style but vertical leap can definitely be trained with consistency commitment and time.

you would also jump alot higher if you had correct jumping form. your second to last step before you jump is called a penultimate step and its very important. going from your penultimate step to your jumping step it should feel like your reaching out and kind of striding, and you also need to get low so you can explode up. also try not to hop into your jumping because its like jumping twice and takes away your momentum

that was cool to watch. thanks for sharing. I don't think I would recommend doing 100 box jumps a day. I would limit it to 50 and doing 10 sets of 5 with 3min or more (depending on how fatigued you feel) to maximize your explosive power. Doing 100 a day for 6 straight days is tough, so props out to you for getting them in.
Also you should have weighed yourself on the first day and on the test day. Also if you got a tape measure to measure the outdoor hoop. In my experience, they tend to a couple inches varying from 10 ft--- some of them were installed many years and sometimes the ground below the concrete can push it up or down the dirt can shift or maybe the hoop tilts up and down from use.
When you want to maximize your vertical jump from a 2 foot jump, you want to increase your type 2 fast twitch ratio and I think since you already have a conditioned physique, you might have been able to see a slight adpatation over one 1 week. Normally, you would want to give it 2-6 weeks.
it was a great idea to try and I was interested to see your results. Glad you saw some improvement. cheers

1st - It might have been more interesting to test the half squat-explosive movement method (partial squat, above the 90* knee bent). There was at least one study which showed up to 30% increase in vertical jump height.
2nd - Curcumin can have an anti androgenic effect (lower your testosterone) on some men so watch out, but MSM is great, I take it myself whenever it is needed. I also used to give it to my senior cat.

2:04 the traps, i recently hurt my AC joint and had a tear in my ligaments which separated the collarbone and it no longer lined up with the acromion. if i did any scapula movments at all especially flexing my upper traps or rolling my shoulders forward it was painful and i could see my collarbone lift where it meets the acrmion. took about 9 weeks of physio and rehab at home before i could even try to jump vertically because of the need to move your scapula when doing so. full body kinetix energy, when a chain is broken or not 100% the rest of the body also lacks its full potential because of it.

Sets of 30 quick jump reps or more. 4 sets or more. No slow jumps. Did good mixing in core. Mix in squats and weighted leaps as well as deep knee bends. Jumping rope is a good cool down. The key is to work your explosiveness and quickness. Throw in hill running. Scratch that. Hill sprinting. Big quarry gravel piles work wonders. At that vertical you could easily gain a foot in 6 months.

I wouldn’t recommend basketball in barefoot shoes. I’m pretty sure that’s how I damaged my foot.
With vertical jump you might have success doing heavy squats or trap bar deadlift. Between 1RM to 5RM range. Also, in regards to specificity you could just do 50 rim touches a day. Being as light as possible (without losing strength) will help. Lastly, you should get a basketball player to coach your technique. I could always dunk on my weaker side only because my technique was better
