I mean, why would they change the design of something that sold very well? Improving it, sure, but changing it-what's the point? I'm not saying these leaks aren’t fake, but even if they were real, that design choice wouldn't shock me
DLSS, like other upscalers, do not look good at very low resolutions when upscaled. The Switch 2 needs to be able to render native 720 60 fps or 1080 60 fps in handheld and only use DLSS for docked play. If it requires DLSS to run games properly in handheld....we got serious issues.
As long as it has physical back compat, I'm sold. I held off from buying the Switch so I will have a selection of titles to choose from. What really interests me as well is the possibility of big 3rd party devs releasing their catalog here. If the power is really going to be comparable to PS4 Pro and Series S, then a LOT of games will be possible to port. Mind you, porting can be problematic because of Nvidia vs AMD but to grab a whole market, I feel like that would be something that publishers will want to look really hard towards.
Memory bandwidth will be the limiting factor for the switch 2 . The rog ally is more powerful than it shows because it has 25% of the memory bandwidth of the ps4 pro and gpu love memory bandwidth. While it may have the raw throughput of a much higher class gpu if it can't keep the gpu fed the results will vary
All the customers know the Nintendo brand and I feel to keep the switch name although something that everyone can identify that this is the next Nintendo in a form for the hybrid switch. It's forgetful that the switch does indeed cradle onto its base to connect to any large screen tv in the house if you want.
Man going back to LCD after OLED would be a huge L…on the other hand the bigger size is great cause I have big hands but some ppl aren’t gonna be a fan
I think one misconception that has to be cleared up is the actual difference between DLSS and FSR.. Yes DLSS is a better upscaler but the current consoles only have FSR 2.0 which is not optimal and does not have FG. FSR 3.1 is a lot better even though not as good as DLSS it's still a difference that people need to be aware of if they want to understand this technology. FSR 4.0 is also announced which will be AI based just like DLSS and DLSS 3.0 and DLSS 3.5 would also be a big difference especially with raytracing due to ray reconstruction. In other words we need to be more specific when we talk about DLSS and FSR and especially with FSR because we have the console and PC version that are very different from each other. While FSR is evolving on PC it stays at 2.0 on console (at least for now it seems) If we had FSR 3.1 on consoles i think the negativity around FSR would strongly diminish because yes it would probably not be as good as an upscaler as PSSR or DLSS but still a good improvement from FSR 2.0 and more importantly has Frame Gen. All games that are currently 60fps on console with a bit of headroom for performance can be made 120fps games and i think that would be a true game changer.
With the Rog Ally Z1 Extreme dropping to sub $500, Nintendo better have some moderate hardware attached to their new console. If not, emulate, emulate, emulate.
There is two usb ports, on the top and bottom, i wouldn't be surprised if the top one jst there for the devs so they can make games, and the public switch won't have that
i just hope they release an lite version just like switch without dock and attachable joycons smaller size same power for maybe around 300 bucks or similar
The so-called "big difference" of DLSS vs FSR is *only* noticeably "big" if you do Digital Foundry type analysis of very slowed down footage and screenshots. It is very hard to see those differences when in full speed gameplay where you are trying to focus on playing not the minutia. Also, I know from experience that a long as you don't use Performance or Ultra performance modes, FSR 2+ looks very good. But even DLSS looks like crap when you use those modes.
i thought it would be the same just a bigger screen and better joycon design i think the dock might be different the same design as the joycon with a magnet
Just doesn't work out for an actual handheld experience when the battery runs out way too quickly... guess can still play just fine if you have an extension cord or some other way to keep it plugged in.
