    Awesome job! Don't you just love it when everything works like it should?

      Sure do! I can’t believe how smoothly it runs. Just need to wire up the IAT and diverter valve this afternoon and take it for a spin.

    I don’t know which ECM mine has but might be interested in buying the old one for a backup Joe

      What year is your car? If it’s an 82 with the 5055, the 83-84 6026 is plug and play. Let me know. I have no use for it anymore 👍

    Really nice work! Was wondering what you're thinking for the hood louver solenoid? Do you think this swap also expands the pool of parts that for the original car could be expensive, scarce or just not available? An example, at least for the '82 vette, is the knock sensor and ESC module. Lastly, I don't remember seeing a digital dash in your earlier videos, is that new or am I mistaken. Looking forward to the next installment on this topic, thanks for sharing your crossfire knowledge.

      For the hood louver, since the position of the solenoid is adjustable, I just adjusted it so the flap is open all the time. The 7747 and 8746 definitely open up all of the doors as far as parts availability, tuning, etc. The 82 ESC and knock sensor are 82 specific. So by running a newer ECM, you can run any 83-newer ESC module and knock sensor. But yeah, the digital dash is new. My wife got it for me for Christmas.

    Loving this idea as im putting a 355 with a mild cam and aluminium heads and renegade manifold with 2" TB's into my 83 crossfire T/A. Ive just purchased a 8746 ECM with about 6" of wire on the plugs so I can change it over. Am I right in thinking all of the wires are the same colour so its a like for like chop and solder job?
    Thank you in advance.

      For the most part, yes. Email me and I’ll give you my wiring diagrams if you want

    Joe...great job...I am assuming the 8746 could be used on an '82 Vette with the 350...does the Prom need replacing?

    • @Joesmusclecargarage
      @Joesmusclecargarage  2 роки тому +1

      The 8746 can be used to replace both the 1982 5055 and the 1983-1984 6026. I would assume to use with a 350, you would need an L05 PROM to start with. I’m not sure how well the L03 PROM would run with a 350.

    I think I need to change the ecu on my uncles 83 Indy car. I’ve got power and ground. Code 42 , sputters, tach bounces and dies. New distributor and coil, no change, wiring tests good. Should I replace esc module. I have injector pulse and weak spark. It’s fouled now and won’t start, please help

    • @aceace8140
      @aceace8140 2 роки тому

      I will buy that ecu, I replaced the distributor, spark timing module, still has a code 42, no start

      @@aceace8140 The ECM was sold almost immediately. Do you have a FSM? If you don’t, I would get ahold of one and follow the flow chart for a code 42. Have you checked the plugs at the ECM itself? The original card edge connectors can corrode and have intermittent contact rather easily. You say you checked all of the wiring, check it at the ECM as well.
