69 Yenko Camaro first drive - blows tires loose through 3rd gear without trying

- I finnally have my Yenko Camaro put back together with the new Drivetrain, the BBC makes a little over 500Hp and 550TQ, with a M21 4-Speed and 4.10 Posi..in a car that weighs 3500lbs...Needless to say the car is an animal and super fun to drive! This is really the first time I have jumped on the car hard 3/4 throttle, I have been breaking in the engine in and figured I would video the first of Many big burnouts : )

My high school graduation present was a 69 Copo red with red interior drag race it religiously on the street never wrecked it never killed nobody I set the car sideways at 85 mile an hour with four people in the car scare the Daylights out of everybody brings back a lot of memories keep up the good work keep it between the lines
My graduation car was a 1980 amc eagle. Wasnt fast for shit but it did badass cyclones in the high school parking lot, got around in the snow great and it was black so i got lots of trim ☺

It's a Yenko clone, I installed the console and speedo when restored... Wow, Talk about picky... and sorry to burst your bubble but 2:33 was fun as hell! sorry if Muscle cars are to only be putted around town...Not in my book! I Always jump on the car in safe hyway entrances..etc. so go bark up someone elses tree... Some folks need to get a life.

My test was always sideways at 70. If I could cruise along @70 in high gear, stab it and get crazy sideways loose I considered my motor to be running properly. Those cars are made to drive!

I had a 70 TA with a .060 455 with 12-1s (#12 400 heads 72 cc RAIII) and a M20 and 4.10 12 bolt. SD Rods and a Nodular Crank, 1/2" Fuel Lines, Modified Torquer and an 850 DP. HEI with MSD 6AL setup. 1st and 2nd were useless. Was a mid 11 second car all day long weighing about 3400. I so remember that amazing fry the crap out of the Mickey Thompson 29x11s at will. They don't make cars like this anymore. That sir is one amazing camaro! Very Nice!
good god....my heart is pumping so fast right now hahaha i wish you had a shot from the outside. first gen. camaros have a special spot in my heart, and the sound of that cam thumping took the other half!

Yes I have a Muncie m21 close ratio with 3:73 gears and 1st gear taking off isn't the tire burning gear but after 3000 rpm I run thru them like I am chasing down the guy whole stole bud light. Love the speed you can shift a Muncie they are awesome

Beautiful yenko I had red one with black stripes in 2007 with 350 , rolled it , then got a lemans blue yenko 427 4-speed with the 4:10 gearing , no power steering I wanna say 4:11 for some reason but beautiful car always will love that 69 i will be posting video this weekend of it

“Break loose without trying”. In my old 69 Z with the “140” cam I had to try very carefully to not beak loose, with 373 gears. Was super deadly with 456 gears and all that RPM.

The M-21 is a CLOSE RATIO!! The M-20 is the WIDE ratio!!
So which is better between the two? I have a Muncie and have no clue which ratio it is. Will be used as a street, little hell raiser.

Yeah buddy.... I had an 65 Olds cutlass with manual everything I had a built 396 in it, 4 speed , 4.10 rear and it did the same . First three gears was no traction at all just fishtailing but 4th hooked and I was gone... I miss those days and my cars. Should had held onto one of them...
As comparison with that very short 4,1:1 final drive ratio here in Spain was the Seat 124 Especial 2000 in 1979 known as "FL-90" by Seat, 1.919cc (117 cu.in.) 4 in line engine , 114HP, 996 Kg weight full tank, 5 speed manual gearbox and had 4.1:1 final drive ratio too, 1/4 mile was in 17,2 sec. Top speed 173Km/h (107,6mph).
how come Spain is often "quiet" like here in Canada ive never met one person saying they are from Spain, or when i was on vacation in the Caribbean.

@@cloakedgt Well, I´m a strange man, when I was 20yo (now 53, from ´69 as that Camaro), bought american muscle car reviews , Muscle Car, Super Chevy, Hot Rod, the Four Wheeler with lifted trucks, that reviews comes from a Military Base in a village near Madrid Capital, then I love those old cars from ´60-´70-´80, usually see videos of them. Portugal, neighbour country, 2 years ago go from South to North with my Merc W124 300TD, very very good people there. Years ago I saw somes Camaros ´69 at sell, original Madrid license plate, remember were at 3000-3600 euro....

Sounds good as i had a 67 clone in the mid 70's -- 427-425 hp dead stock with headers with 4.56 gears-- Sounds like you have a much more radical cam? 550 tq is a lot, is it a 427 and do you still have the rectangular port heads? Seems some use the oval for many applications-- very hard to hook up with those old cars and actually dangerous to control so you better get some slicks for the track, any Camaro with a good BB is GREAT, i love the hideaway headlights

yep nothing like puttering on to the interstate with the t tops out and then hammering it and hitting over 100 in no time pretty fun doing over 100 with most of your roof missing lol
@JohnQuincyAdams1 . We have 2 Copo Camaro's. Both have Center Consoles. NO power steering and No Vinyl top. Center Console was pretty common in all the Copo's and Yenko Camaro's that i have personally seen.

@BlueprintEngines Thanks for the comments and building a killer Engine! She is a beast!!! She is cholding 60lbs of oil pressure at idle / warm... and seems to be running great! Feel free to use any of these videos for advertisement or endorsement. She sure is fun to drive with that BB making 550 Ft LBS of TQ!!! Soon I'll do some full throttle romps. but trying to ease my self into the power and the cars reacations...etc.! But ya'll at BluePrint were definately a big part of PROJECT YENKO!
