Thanks for an honest review. Subbed. You're right. Sometimes things don't fit our preconceptions. I found the same changes (improvements) as you noted when I decoupled the speakers (Blu-Tak) from the stands which are rigidly coupled to the floor.

Very Interesting video, was a bit sceptical myself on this type of product. Nice to get an unbias and honest review.

I had the same experience with my Townshend speaker bars. Don’t think it’s seismic activity isolation, though. I think it’s 1) not making the room structures vibrate themselves, and 2) doing that also reduce the vibrations that go into the electronics.

Great review! I had the same experience BUT with my Clearaudio Concept Turntable !
This table is very good on its own and didn’t think it would do much ; boy was I wrong!
    Cheers, Nigel.

The thing is I can understand them working for turntables but speakers!?
I was quite shocked to be honest..

I won’t be buying a Clearaudio turntable if they can’t engineer it properly.

@@r423fplip It befuddles me how a company can spend decades developing very expensive products like turntables then you change little something and it makes it better. I had a similar experience with my spendor loudspeakers, the manufacture always insisted that they where tuned with the grills on and that is how they should be listened to. Each time I would see sp 1/2r2 on youtube they had the grills off, but always told myself the manufacturer should know better. When I finally decided to take them off I was shocked at the extra clarity I got, but I still thought that after more listening I would eventually go back to the grills on, gave it some time and put them back on, they came right off. And it's not because I have warm sounding electronics, I have an ortofon cadenza black and a German Solid State amp, very revealing.

I use iso acoustics under all my equipment; absolutely incredible! ( great Canadian development by the way). But not to be critical, I’ve never seen equipment sitting on carpeting! Have you considered putting blocks of wood under the speaker stands or maybe even granite stone? PS I would love to hear pair of Spendor classic 100s!

I believe your own explanation 100% The improvement has in my view nothing to do with seismic movement but rather energy transfer to the floor. I remember from my school time fiddling with a tuning fork. Banging it against a hard surface made it give a distinct clear piiiing tone at the frequency it was tune to. If it was attached to a tuned wooden resonator which it came with, the sound bloomed and gained in loudness. This I believe is what happens with the isolation feet. If I am right the entire wooden floor turns into a giant resonator whiteout the isolators. Considering the size of the floor it could be a big thing. If one can feel the vibration in the floor it must be audible! It would be lovely if you could try to record some bass heavy music from the room next to your listening room with and without the isolators. If the level of sound transmission is less, with the isolators, then I have no doubt that the cause has been found. Thanks for another wonderful presentation. Greetings from Denmark.

Fantastic explanation about the feet, and you do indeed hear more detail, but I have the impression that this is because the oemft is the bass is reduced.
I think they are slightly better than the VCF feet from Audio Physic. Sometimes slightly different from speaker to speaker.

Are your speakers bolted to the stand? If not how are the speakers attached to the stand?

Struggling to buy their argument about seismic activity. As you know I live in an area where there's a good deal of plate shifting. So does that mean I'm going to benefit even more? I think that's marketing puff mate. More significant is the basic decoupling effect, regardless of earthquake propensity 😂. Anyways that's my tuppence worth. Great video Kev.

Have the Iso accoustic stands under active monitors basically sitting on a sideboard, and had the same experience, cleaned up the bass and made the mids and highs cleaner and clearer, a very obvious improvement. I am surprised you got an improvement over stands with spikes, as I thought they worked in my case by not putting the speakers energy into a hollow sideboard. Is your floor suspended or solid concrete?

Sounds to me like they absorb bass energy. If tweeters suffered from seismic activity you could suspend them in the case using some silicone washers or something. Maybe suspending speakers from springs would work too ;).

That’s the thing the bass is still impressive as ever but way more coherent, detailed. kinda works.
Kef tried decoupling their bass drivers.
eg, Ref 101, 107 etc they did the job well.

I think the seismic stuff is pure snake oil, however I can see the speakers will sound different as they get decoupled from the floor.
If the floor is floor boards then makes sense I guess as the boards will colour the sound.
If the florr is concrete then I suspect tje sound will get worse.
Not sure ehat you floor is?
    Cheers

Concrete.. yeah I’m not 100% convinced on the seismic thing but they definitely tidy up the frequencies.

The seismic activity comes from people walking in the building, cars, metro, etc., not volcanoes. And it is a low frequency noise, not high frequency.
