and there's something even better than the ISO acoustic Gaia, It's called Townshend podiums, they're a lot more money but boy are they ever better, on the forums everyone that's tried both has said that the Gaia's were very very good but the podiums were on a whole different level better and I got them and I totally agree they weren't cheap mine were 1995.00 Canadian but all I can say it's the most significant improvement I've made to my system everything improved depth imaging bass got faster tighter more articulate, The highs got more airy and spacious and everything in the sound stage was more pinpoint and the air and space between the instruments and the voice were more accurate and discernible. The improvement was so good that me and the person that was also listening before and after said it sounded like I had just spent more money on More expensive electronics. I highly recommend them you won't regret it.
I’ve used the Gaias before. It was literally in your face improvement. None of this kind of try to convince yourself that it sounds greatly improved because you’re trying to justify the big spend.
Speakers sound nice! Interesting how large the box is for the lows. Sounded like the tone got slightly deeper slightly less bright with the gia. I think you should save your money unless you built a dedicated listening room,. Move the plants, get rid of the shag, bring the speakers out more, there are free things you can do that will change the sound that much. To me the sound isnt changing for better or worse, its changing for preference and only slightly.
Identical sound. The only difference is the actual height of the speakers due to the isoacustics feet being much higher than the stainless steel spikes. Otherwise exactly the same.
Spikes are a bad idea, they couple. Better results are obtained by a cup/ball and spring arrangement using a suitable platform material like slate or solid maple. Townshend pods and podiums also work very well, better than these sort of isolators using elastomers which are not good for sound in my experience. Remember, every material introduced under a piece of equipment will have its own particular sonic signature which will alter the sound for better or worse.
I'm a GAIA II user. I think the perfet way to get the better sound performence is 1: place your speaker at the right position, inch by inch untill they are belance and smoth sound comes out. then put on GAIA II, and you'll 100% get the better sound than before.
The Qualio speakers are shinning in these demos. For some reason they are sounding great whereas in other videos they seem lacking in bass. At first I saw no perceptible difference with the Isoacoustic feet. Then I realized I prefer the sound with them in.
Your choice of where to edit the changes on the 1st song is bizarre, you wait for parts where the drums drop out to change rather than allowing us to hear the difference side by side when all elements of the song are playing. I would've thought that's the best time to compare A and B, when full bass transfer would be occurring. That said, I appreciate your efforts. 👍
IMO, that room needs some serious acoustic fixes. Also there seems to be no treatment to stop vibrations from the bottom panels coupling to the timber floor. Gaia II probably would make a difference in a better setup.
Hi there. I love the Qualio speakers and I am going to save up for a pair. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ I have a Kinki pre and monoblocks driving a pair of Buchardt s400ii. I love the sound.. but I feel that a pair of IQ will be a next level system. Have you paired your speakers with the Kinkis? And do you think they will be a good match?
Owned them. Returned them. Did not work in my system (but there was nothing wrong to begin with). I think they can improve speakers of lesser quality but then … they are too expensive to use with more affordable stuff. They sure make a difference (and made a difference in my room just not in a good way) but so do spikes.
I think it depends upon what type of floor and how damped the speakers are, particularly the bottom. I am willing to learn though. Also I have a well damped room.
Agree. The flooring under my speakers are softly suspended wooden flooring, which unfortunately is also relatively bouncy. So here the Gaia's are not an improvement. I have gone back to a simple support of a large concrete tile, mounted on top of tile-shaped washing machine-dampener, and as well placed below the skeets for the loudspeaker-spikes. Still not an optimal solution, but clearly better than the Gaia's in this room.
I really don't think that you can tell anything from UA-cam demos. Too many variables and layers between the sound in the room and your ears. I just put the Gaia 2 feet on my Wharfedale Elysian-4 speakers and am happy with a significant improvement on my suspended wooden floor. Also my wife is happy that the floor is protected when moving the speakers. Incidentally I very nearly bought your speakers (which look fantastic) but part of my listening is done with a Class A 300b SET and after enquiring I was told it just would not have the juice to drive them, though my Kinki Ex M1 would. The Wharfedales sing with both. Ps A set of 8 Gaia 2 feet are about $600 not $400 as stated. I still think decent value in the world of tweaks, though certainly not cheap.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I agree that is acoustics are great upgrade once your system is getting costly so great choice. But I disagree that you can't hear the difference. the reality is that most of the times the difference in DACs and amps is not as big as with the speakers. check out this video with 4" full range speakers being tested the differences Are very big there ua-cam.com/video/btIiLTCtmcA/v-deo.htmlsi=HAhvk7N-LkF9qJYT
Great video. Before you buy any equipments or tweaks you should take a loan and try it at home first until you’re satisfied and then finalise the purchase. This two tweaks have different sound signature.
Can you please make a list of tracks that you played? Isoacoustic makes a difference for sure, I test them on Axpona audio show and I was wowed how soundstage opens. I'm buying them for my my Focal Kanta 3
The sound is thinner slightly with the spikes and you can definitely hear the vibration's more from the bass but the Gaia's have a fuller warmer cleaner soundstage so imo it's money well spent. The speakers are awesome btw 👏🏻👍🏻
I didn't want to admit it but the more expensive feet did make a difference for the better. But it wasn't such a big difference that you would notice unless you did such an A/b comparison.
This was not as subtle as some of the other comparison tests but when using headphones, not sure exactly what I'm hearing. Let me try and explain. The steel spikes give a more focused center image and the IsoAcoustics sound more wide or spacious but as this is not a true speaker sound stage, it could be that the spikes are more accurate and the Iso's are acting like the phase is reversed - but I suspect that is NOT the case in person and that the spike are just more 2 dimensional and flat and the Iso's are opening up the sound stage as well as being cleaner too...but again, with headphones, the sound stage is so different as this is not a binaural recording, not sure how these differences that I hear actually translate to Real Life. IS there an evident audible difference? yes. Try to listen with your eyes closed until you hear a change in the sound stage presentation and see how accurately you can track the changes. I would love to have the complete song available for each situation (for ALL of your tests) available so I could have two (or 4) versions of YT open at the same time so I could control the switching myself and hear the same portion of the songs either way. Next best might be to make clips a bit shorter so that the different "sounds" are quicker and maybe easier to compare. You are doing a great job and a huge service so these are just suggestions of what I would prefer; changes I would wish for. I don appreciate that you are using the same tracks over and over so we can get familiar with them and how they should sound. Many thanks.
Nice demo mate. IsoAccustic sounds "cleaner" and almost a bit muffled (the volume also seem just slightly higher), but the spikes sound a bit crisper. I'm not a big fan of the sound isolation-feet give personally, but I can understand why people like it.
Brought the Gaia1 for my Focal sopra 2,s ... Thought they were average at best ... Robbed the sound of any liveliness ... Didn't do anything other make ya go ... Meh
I have tried ISOACOUSTICS but bookshelf stand... So sucks!!! Such a design cannot dampen the resonance!!! In any case, instead of spikes, try springs that are ten times cheaper and much better! For example Audiocrast Spring Speaker Isolation Stand Feet
This is about the Gaia feet not bookshelf stands. You can’t recommend springs (especially for floor standers) based on your bad experience of a different product.

What if the noodles sound better than the gaias. Do you think everyone would ditch the gaias in favour of the noodles. Shame no one is doing a comparison. it might be surprising.
Van Morrisons vocals are distinctly better and cleaner with the GAIA II . Bass is deeper and rounder with the GAIA II. With the Stainless steel spikes music gets a bit shouty and smeary .The GAIA II are clearly a good upgrade which is just as well as i have a set under my Q Acoustics concept 500s .The Qualios IQs are very impressive these open baffles are clearly the way to go .
Suono Gaia più reale naturale pulito. Un pò piú cupo chiuso gli Spikes . Ho ascoltato in auto e cmq da UA-cam audio compresso non è l'ideale. Però gli Spiles si comportano benino. Vincitore Gaia II.

thanks for uploading the comparison, I think the most important thing is the way these speakers can scale
IMHO, the iso's do the job nicely. The question really is, is it $400 better?
I’ve used the Gaias before. It was literally in your face improvement. None of this kind of try to convince yourself that it sounds greatly improved because you’re trying to justify the big spend.
Nice trick to toe in and out and take them back and to the front, just tape the place where the speakers stay and than try this test again.

Hi. Can you tell us more about the additional device added to the left of the computer on the recordings with the spikes? Equalizer? DSP?
on the left that are smsl and denafrips DACs that were just lying there ;)
@@VirtualHiFi thank you for your reply. You might have thought you saw an equalization curve on the SMSL screen. What reference is this?
A low end is better with Gaia. And as usual(!) the main difference is in sound tails. Vibro isolators helps to keep more those tails/echoes.

The spikes are a different height than the Isoacoustics, and the mics don't seem to change position to account for that.
Yes and the speakers move slightly on every changeover. thats all it takes to change sound slightly.
