It took us 6 years to finally do this, but we finally picked up an RC sailboat to show you. Since this is such a "monumental" moment for our channel, we decided to do an unboxing of the Voltanex 791-1. We cannot wait to learn more about sailboats and get this on the water!

I think it's a very nice! If you think you're last name is bad because of never having a sailboat...try having a last name of Sample. I've heard everything...free sample, urine sample....when I was in the army a captain asked me if I stole the sample uniform from a mannequin! Lol
some tips: I do actual sailing races (not RC)
1 find wind direction
2 when sailing up wind (towards the wind) sail just side on to the wind and pull your sail in very tight
3 when sailing down wind let your sail out so that the wind is pushing behind you
4 when traveling directly up wind you need to zig zag across the wind with your sail half pulled in
5 an easy way to find the wind direction is to pick some grass and drop it above your head and which ever way it blows it the downwind direction
I have now put my life on hold waiting for this yacht's maiden voyage. 😉🤣

Sailing is very easy. Sailing well takes 3 years at minimum. Right stick is rudder. Left controls the sails. Stick up lets the sails out. Pull down pulls the sails in. Beleive it or not you go faster going up wind than going down wind. Down wind the sail becomes a wing.
Setup basics:
Set the main sail (bug one) so the boom goes to the side of the hull. Jib goes about 1" past the side of the hull. Mind you theres more to setting the sails but it will get you sailing. Stick time stick time stick time.
I have never had an rc sailboat but I sail real boats a lot!
It’s about time! Finally the RC Saylors are going to attempt to be RC sailors. My sailing dinghy is just too large for RC control. Your maiden voyage will be best on a nice sunny day with a light steady onshore breeze. Don’t forget to have a canoe or something as a rescue boat, just in case. I look forward to seeing your seamanship.

Well looks promising. Now you have to find the right water launch ⛵area. Deep enough to place in water⛵. No toss n launch. ⛵No running it into shore. So got any ideas?.maybe your canoeing place⛵. Have fun putting it together. ⚓⚓⚓⚓'S 😊😊. Oh yeah now you need a theme song. Maybe Enya's Orinoco flow.
ITS ABOUT TIME! Wow RC Saylors with an RC SAILBOAT! You amaze me! I want one SOOOOO BAD! I will trade my RC swamp boat for it. Wellll mabe. I would have to deliver it. When I get my hobby room back I plan on getting one of those. Honestly, living around water with the great lakes and bays I would have thought SOMEONE would sell a used RC sailboat nope! They used to have an RC sailing club up in Suttons Bay about 25 miles from me but
they disbanded it. No Nate, they dont require much power. You can take sailing classes on the Boardman lake using little sunfish. You need to READ up on your new toy. I am jealous...I know your name is Saylor but really. That is on my list Why didnt they color print both sides of that sail? I dont get it. The tubes are masts.
Its cool Nate. I cannot wait to see you sail it. Our lake bottoms are clear so no weeds or junk to get tangled up in So you need to bring it up here. I need one for all the wind we get.

I know this video is older, but this boat although affordable isn't the best sailing vessel. Please review one of the DFs. give Abby the DragonForce 65 and race these two.

The black thing with a shaft in the middle of it is probably the rudder. Large black thing that you unwrapped just perfectly straight is called the keel. The keel attaches to the bottom of the boat. Large heavy bulb attaches to the bottom of the keel. The long plastic rod is called the mast. The shorter plastic rod is the @t end of the boom attaches to the mast at right angles. Your particular boat is called a sloop. Your particular boat is called a sloop. Look up pictures of sloops on the Internet. You need to know what your boat will look like when it is complete.

A build video ? Didn't you notice this is an ARF, almost ready to float. Haven't seen anyone build anything for quite a while. Very few kits out there to build. It really is a shame that people have quit building.

Your missing something! You have the main sail, but where is the jib sail? That is the sail in the front. You shud have two sails lol. Check the box. My avatar is me standing on my sail boat lol Haha Happy Sailing
Looking for this to add to my RC experienced (airplanes 1980 to present). I'm an experienced sailboat sailor and owner. Small to medium/large (13.5' sloop to 38' ketch). Can't wait to see your experience with this.

I strongly suggest you look up videos on sailing theory before your maiden voyage, and maybe keep an electric RC boat handy that can push the sailboat back to shore, if you run into too much difficulty. I have a Sunfish sailboat (full-sized, not RC), and even after taking a sailing course with a local club, I found it a lot trickier than I expected to get the boat to go where I wanted.
That said, I'm looking forward to seeing your video when you launch her for the first time.

Keep in mind that the sail is just like an aircraft wing. The curved area is the top of the wing and it creates a low pressure area so the high pressure on the back side pushes it. That is why you tack, ( shift back in forth going into the wind ).
So when the wind is coming toward you,,, it is an airfoil pulling you. And when the wind is behind you, your sail is a sail pushing you. You two will have a blast with this. ;p)

$130 is cheap compared to what my Pro Boat Ragazza cost me. What you can do is buy rechargeable AA batteries for the boat receiver. I got a charger and 4 rechargeable Energizer AA NiMh batteries at Walmart for $20

Hey Nate, that long heavy weight is called a keel. It help keeps the sailboat upright while turning or in high winds.
The keel also provides lateral resistance, so that the force of the wind in the sails pushes the boat forward, rather than sideways. The ballast at the bottom of the keel keeps the boat upright when heeling in the wind, as the best speed in a sailboat is not achieved by going with the wind, but rather, cross-wind.
I bet it runs forever with a fully charged battery. It only uses rudder to steer so not much battery use.
It will also use power to run the winches for the mainsail and foresail (if there is one)

I am torn between this and the night Radian. I need something relaxing to have fun with. With my birthday comming up, I want to buy something fun( as usual) . I saw the $400 Windsomething on another site but thats too much money for an RC boat. I do not consider an RC boat a toy. Nikoli Tesla actually made the first RC boat. I like the night Radian, but with all the darn wind we get, a sailboat would be fun.

Congratulations! Indeed, i questioned myself, why you don't have RC Sailboats on your channel. Looks like you're not common with sailing but i can promise, that you're going to like it. I'm sailing since almost 10 years and i love it and so will you. It's a science fascinating, challanging and has many similarities to flying. I don't want to make advertising for my channel, because your videos are much more better than mine, but if you're interessted in questions about sailing, i'd like to support you as good as i can. Hi RcSaylors, I'm very happy, that I found this unboxing video on your channel. Well done, because you ARE the RcSaylors indeed. I thought, that since a sailboat doesn't offer you that much adrenaline, as a speedboat does, because it's so extremely relaxing to sail it, you could have shown it for a couple of minutes in combination with another rc boat. And since the Aerotrooper is so extremely noisy, you could have shown it in the very end for a couple of minutes in your video about the Aerotrooper, just to show, how nice can be silence. I'd like really very much to see a video about you, sailing this model on your channel and maybe indeed just for a couple of minutes in combination with another rc boat.

Oh yes we saw POPEYE!! miss you buddy...Wow The RC Saylors finally got a sail boat, it looks great, cant wait till it on the water, and a sail boat will have two sails one main sail and on smaller one called a spinnaker, so you didnt find the smaller one....Only thing that wasnt to my liking was using AA batteries ....Yes I was telling to look underneath for other parts..lol...
yeah, always wondered why I haven't seen U do a sailboat, U sail, not drive LoL My 1st real R/C was a sailboat, n alway had interest in R/C, coarse I had toys. I still have it, have to dig it out, mine has a prop n case U get n trouble :-) runs on AA's too, interesting. I bought a real sailboat few yrs later n haven't touched it since, sad can't post pics here but will look at make n let U know, look forward to seeing U sail it n enjoy ur channel

How is that even possible?! 😁 Those are amazing beasts compared to this toy here for few hundred bucks... K2 IOM is triple World Champions, currently killing machine with sails! Nate and Abby,,i am knew to your channel and was wondering if you ever do Sailboats,and there you are with your first Sailboat.The first part was the keel,then you will have the rudder,as you know will stear the boat.I don!t know why you have alot of buttons all you need is to sticks.A 2 channel is all you need.Once you get it put together,and have awindy day go to the pond and first make sure everything is on then launch and catch some wind and Sail.The stick on the right should be to stear and the left is simple,think of a book open and close.Up should be to open the Sails and down to close them.I should of said at the beginning i am into RC Sailboats,and i love it.Happy Sailing.⛵
The 1 meter eclipse,compass,n hurricane,all have same abs plastic hull, n flat sails n the hardware is not so good ,but it will be a start to a fun hobby
