    Nice maybe I'll upgrade my Kyosho to this larger model. I made a personal travel case since I take it hiking. To do so I cut the mast in half and added a inner tubing with a screw so the mast fits in the compact package I made for the boat.

      Halloa Nico :)
      you would absolutely love this 1M yacht (if you like the smaller Fortune 612).. the sailing is a lot more realistic..
      There is ofcourse a downside to everything.. this Seawind IS quite a bit bigger.. So backpacking it...
      Let me know if you try it with this yacht! :)
      Cheers and happy sailing :)

      @@DutchRC Hi, after research I bought the DF65. I got a good deal cuz the box was damaged. It's a competition boat so quality should be fine. Last time sailing my Kyosho I lost the connection and it went for the sticks (of course). I'm pretty sure the DF65 will do well and is still portable. Cant wait to sail it.

    Thanks for the info. I used to have a 1m class boat and sailed it in uk championships . Just wondered if these boats have their own sailing class. Also do they have 3 sets of sails, can you buy them. Radio class 1m boats always have winches fitted because of the high torques required to pull the sheets in , can you get winches fitted or can you fit your own. The boats look very nice to play with, but I don't think they will stand the rigours of 1m racing. Thankyou once again for taking the time out to sow us these boats. Thankyou.

      Hi there sir :)
      The Seawind indeed IS a racing class has has been worldwide for decades actually.. Do a bit of searching for "Kyosho seawind race" and you will surely find a lot of video's :)
      Kysoho has always offered the one rig and it depends on the race event if other rigs are allowed I guess.. I have seen all stock races, but there are modified classes as well
      The yacht comes pretty much ready to go With all electronics / servo's already set up actually.. Mine even came with a radio....

    Leuk filmpje😉 Ik heb wel een paar vraagjes:
    1-Welke diepgang heeft de Seawind?
    2-Hoelang doe je met de 8 batterijen?
    3-Bestaat er geen miniatuurbemanning voor de Seawind,
    dan lijkt het nog net iets echter👍

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  4 роки тому +1

      Dank je wel :) De diegang van dit jacht zal zo'n 50cm zijn.. Als ik t'm knie het water in kan, kan hij er varen zeg maar :)
      Eigelijk vaar ik de AA's nooit leeg, al vaar ik een hele middag + avond.. genoeg voor de dagje varen dus..
      Ehmm! Vreemd genoeg bied Kyosho voor hun kleinere jacht wel een setje poppetjes aan Maarrrr deze Seawind is een serieuze wedstrijdboot..
      Als je gaat zoeken zijn er echter Zeker wel passende poppetjes te vinden :)

    How do you connect the main and jib sheet with the big servo lever? And does the big servo has a limited amplitude related to the controls sticks? I once had an old rc sail boat that the control stick was making servo runs till it brake the rope or detach the servo. Imagine this far away and in the water. Definitely a design flow.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  4 роки тому

      for RC sailing yachts there are basically 2 setups for this:
      1. servo's with a Very long servo-arm (the Kyosho uses that setup) and that one servo controls both sails through a set of wires.
      2. servo's with a winch / spool on top.. basically the end result is the same: set of wires to control both sails from that one winch-servo..
      And yes.. in both setups the servo's have an end-stop at both ends..

      Thanks Detlef :)
      Well yes.. it is quite possible to take the mast + sails off/on in about 15 minutes.. But I think that would get old pretty quickly.. AND you need to re-adjust everything every time that way..
      I can however transport it as-is in my car (a VW Jette.. so no a super big car)

    • @steveyulenburg129
      @steveyulenburg129 7 років тому +1

      DutchRC Adventures, Besides a telltale on your rigging so you can read wind direction, you can also read it from the waves the wind makes on the water. Also if you do not have your sails properly adjusted (either to far in or out) for the given direction of the boat in relation to the wind your sails will luff on the leech, as in the sail will have a slight flutter along the back edge. You can tighten or loosen your sail sheets (sail control) until this fluttering or luffing goes away. You can see a good example of this luffing in this video you made when you were going down wind with your sails adjusted too far in.

    Im considering buying this off an owner used but there was no mention of any additional items, you mentioned a typical trigger and wheel transmitter works too, do I need any specific one? I’m interested in the ready to use aspect of it so I don’t really know the details for rc stuff.

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  6 років тому

      Hi there sir :)
      the one you have an eye on doesn't come radio gear at all? Personally I would not go for a trigger-style radio for this boat.. It can be done, but it will annoy you to no ends..
      Offcourse you can spend whatever you'd like on a radio.. What would be your budget for that?

    • @madscientistme
      @madscientistme 6 років тому

      DutchRC Adventures Hey thanks for responding ^^ I’m personally hoping not to spend money on the radio, kinda intended to borrow my friend’s rc car radio since the boat itself is setting me back about 150.
      If I had to buy one, maybe one on the cheap end? Would a 50-ish radio work? I could save a few months if necessary to get a better radio but it can be very anticlimactic to buy a boat and have nothing to sail it with for 2-3 months xD

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  6 років тому

      That can be 'a bit' anticlimactic indeed :)
      maybe look for a second hand radio in that case?? You won't be doing yourself a favour sailing it with a trigger radio..

    How easy is it to capsize?... what kind of strength wind do you think it could handle before being too hard to keep upright (on the lean!)

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  7 років тому

      Hi there :)
      These are Very hard to capsize really.. to the point of impossible to do so really.. This is because the keel is offcourse heavier then the sail, and when the sail allmost hits the water, it catches very little wind..
      IF it would capsize (I've never had that happen) it would return upright on it's own again..
      Offcourse at some point the boat will get a bit hard to control, but I have sailed her in winds up to 5 BF (stormy)

    Hi there, I recently bought a used Seawind for a good price but I suspect the boat is quite old and notvery well looked after. In light wind she sailed very well, but as soon as the wind becomes strong and as I'm sailing upwind, she doesn't want to turn back although I turn the rudder to maximum (in both directions).
    The rudder works 100% out of water but only in strong wind I can't seem to turn the boat past the wind border to get the wind on the other side of the sails!
    Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

    • @DutchRC
      @DutchRC  4 роки тому

      congrats on the purchase ofcourse! :D
      and good news: there is nothing wrong.. you will need to solve that with experience & trimming.. Basically the stronger wind is making "errors" in the trim show up more.. So you will need to experiment with the tension in the sails / angle of the mast.. open / close the sales..
      It's fun! And you will instantly see the effects of changes in the rigging :)

    • @DutchRC

      the biggest piece you will be left with is the hull But you should consider if you really want to be taking it apart / build it every time (?)
