I love how this series keeps sans to a minimum. There just enough to add something special to this comic, but not overtly there. Also I love how everyone is just relating with their trauma and mew mew just tells undyne she was having fun lmao
Yeah, Sans is a character I try to use in moderation, since the fandom likes to go overboard with him. He's still important, but he's not the driving force. He keeps tabs on things, but fights smarter, not harder, and is allowed to be kinda a jerk sometimes.
@@souhridyobose4362 To be fair, this is the same character who tells a kid they'd be dead where they stand and then waves it off as a joke, and does the bare minimum in more violent runs, haha. I really liked True Lab, but Crisis of Determination definitely seems like a top contender with how it's the culmination of so much that's been built up. Either way, look forward to it!
After such a long time of hearing Say Your Prayers, Punk! and knowing its basis, hearing *this* kick in during that update and realizing "HEY WAIT THIS IS BATTLE OF PROVIDENCE PHASE 2" absolutely made my day
IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE PEOPLE RECOGNIZE THE BRAVELY INFLUENCE. Definitely a huge musical homage, even if the song isn't 100% identical, the inspiration is definitely there. ...It also means it was a very difficult song to arrange!
Just coming back to the song for the most emotional scene in IF for me. This definitely deserves the title of the longest song in the soundtrack, everything comes together perfectly. Seeing Papyrus and Mettaton join in with such awesome guitar backing for a victorious fight back against Undyne, only for it to pull back a bit as the robot blew up yet again had me on the edge of my seat. So quickly it went from triumphant to hesitantly hopeful, and then it began to build up both the music and the emotion in the scene as Papyrus does everything he can to convince her to stop. And then the calls came in. God I was blown away. I loved hearing all the leitmotifs play for everyone as they join in to stop Undyne, hearing it all represented in this fanfare to the friendship between monsterkind and Frisk. What a wild scene through and through, accompanied by a song that just doesn't quit!
You're not alone, that was my favourite scene too, Because unlike last time, where undyne and mettaton just got turned into amalgams, this time everybody came just in time to stop her from making her biggest mistake.
Honestly, this is the only way I could've seen them defeating Undyne peacefully. She refused to give up no matter what, and the only reason she stopped fighting in the previous fights was because Mettaton interrupted her, so even if Frisk survived the attack she would've used and Papyrus and Mettaton came to help, she wouldn't have let up, as evident by what happened here. Only everyone telling her not to kill Frisk would have worked. You and your team did a phenomenal job on the determinator arc, can't wait to see what comes next after the true lab!
Yeah, it stinks that it had to go that far, but Papyrus and MTT's intervention is the only reason she finally crumbled. Hearing all these people who she wanted to help by breaking the barrier ask her NOT to kill Frisk and/or remind her that she had hurt Papyrus gave her a much-needed reality check. That and her memories of what happened to her and MTT finally kicked in once the mech was destroyed and he mentioned his wings.
The DeTerminator really is the size of a final boss. Same for the battle field. It feels final boss like. If they haven't finished IF yet, I hope that Asriel Dreemurr's boss fight will look like this.
i love how you just made the best undertale au. art, amazing. music, absolute bangers. writing, genuinely made me cry. its perfect. it executes everything in such a way toby would himself. i love this au so much, its like a love letter written to toy for making a great game and im absolutely eating it up.
I discovered your Inverted Fate AU last month after watching your analysis on Berdly and let me say I got instantly hooked as I started reading the webcomic. I literally spent 2-3 days glued to my computer readng it fully. To think such a developed, brilliant, interesting AU of Undertale had been existing for years and I only discovered it now! I was blown away by all the work that has been put into this AU, and its quality; the webcomic, the videos, the battles you can play are so well-done. And the content!! I absolutely love the way you expanded on the characters' personalities through their new roles, abilities, struggles, relationships to each other. You really gave them all the complexity and nuances that I feel were lacking in the original Undertale - or maybe rather, that could be here but got easily overshadowed because the story didn't put the focus on it, or developed it enough. It was very interesting to see each character shine under the light of their new roles, or how you gave them new layers and fleshed out their current role. It's crazy how it really makes the characters you enjoy so much more compelling. And the new characters you've created are just excellent too. I love so many things about the characters through your stories, like: - You gave Frisk a definite character and backstory (poor kid), you created new bonds and expanded on their relationships and friendships through the story - my favourites are with Chara and Papyrus. You made others acknowledge Frisk's efforts and dedication to go forwards and stay non-violent when they're walking through an unfamiliar world, where so many monsters are ready to get their skin, all of that while they're just 12. I love how you show their struggles/difficult moments and the interactions resulting from them. - You truly integrated Chara in the story, giving them a definite character and a greater role than just them being the narrator of Frisk' interactions. (Poor kid too. The way Frisk being pacifist in the previous timeline changed everything to them, my heart). Like for Frisk we got to see their struggles, their emotional growing, and they got to interact together and I live for this. - You made me love Papyrus more than the way I appreciated him in Undertale, as you gave him the complexity and nuance he deserved! Showing his struggles and more serious moments only made him more compelling while making his smiling, caring, persevering personality truly shine. You showed his intelligence, the insight and strength he's capable of, you expanded on his hard-working, invested personality through his work and hobbies and I applause you for that. And that's not all! I also love the way you expanded on Asgore and Toriel's roles, characters and how their newfound positions after their children's deaths influenced them, I love the complicated relationship circle between Sans, Alphys and Undyne, each of their struggles and motivations. I love how much of a threat Undyne actually is - I mean, the original is one, but yours is TRULY ruthless, so hellbent on her mission, and it's interesting to see how it lead her to strain her relationships with others. I love the complexity and struggles you gave to Mettaton, his relationships with others - I like that here he doesn't work alone - and the act he puts on for the sake of expectations is weighting on him. I also love all the work on secondary and less important characters, like how you expanded on Mad Dummy's character, gave them a whole story, or how you fleshed out the Royal Guard and gave it a real importance. I love how insidious Flowey is, and what Chara thinks of him. And the story, oh the story I love it so much. You developed it so much and so well, it's admirable how much work you put into it. Other than the way you made characters shine through new roles, it's very satisfying to read here what happened to the humans who fell down before Frisk and how it shaped the Underground and its characters (speculations are nice, but I like to have answers too) - like, how here it's logical monsters attack Frisk, because they actively recognise they're human and because of what happened in their recent history. How you created the whole story with Undyne and her own DETERMINATION. And the rest is a treat: you made the Underground more alive by creating new places and visually enhancing the already existing places, giving them new content, characters, stories, a past, and the way you implemented them in the story. The new musical tracks and the enhanced existing ones were awesome. The journey in Undertale was quite lonely, but here you gave Frisk companions, which produced fantastic dialogues, exchanges, and enhanced the combat system. You created entire new attacks for so many new monsters and this is crazy! And all the references sprinkled here and there, the moments of humour, the neat numerous details that may be not vital to the story but give flavour to the universe (like the show you watched at Sans and Papyrus' home for example.) Really, this is INSANE, what you and the team of passionate persons were able to do. Your AU is so heartfelt and vibrant, it's made with nothing but love, great care and respect, I don't have enough words to say how much I enjoyed discovering what it had to offer. Thank you very, very much for creating it and developing it so much and so well.
Thanks so much for such a kind and thoughtful comment! I'm a bit too sleepy to respond in depth, but it's always great to see people engage with my work and get so much out of it. c: These kind of comments really do make my day.
Good to hear! It's a bit experimental, but I thought it might add some more audience engagement with the video uploads that's unique from just listening on Soundcloud.
@@Dorked yeah! Also can I ask one thing? Why did you name one of the SoJ motifs "Undyne's End" but the other one "Spear of Justice (Ruins part)"? They are the same melody played with different instruments
@@personperson8712 Basically, it's about context in this case. They use the same motif, but the SOJ variant is slightly different in how it iterates on the same base leitmotif, so I chose to specify both. The base motif isn't really used as the Ruins theme in IF so I was kinda stuck on how to properly label it in a broader sense, haha.
The guitar part in the first 10 seconds gave me the "Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark" vibe, and honestly I think it would be so cool if it was actually the don't forget motif in that place That being said, WOW this song gave me the feels. It's like Don't Give Up but with more leitmotifs and it works REALLY well
I know it’s a bit late to gush at this point, but damn it, I think it bears repeating: This video trilogy was 100% worth the wait. To go from the grimmest point in the series to the most triumphant clash… god, just plain awesome. And also equal parts heartwarming and damn heartrending by the end. I’m glad everyone was there for Undyne after going through everything she did. Even if she and Frisk are still far from friends… it’s a start to a true happy ending. Nice touch with listing each leitmotif as they come, by the way! Really helps us non-music folk respect how you were able to seamlessly work them all together into this track. Just like its source, Inverted Fate’s soundtrack makes an already great series that much better ^_^
Thanks! I think I'll try to do more leitmotif indicators in future OST uploads. Not sure if I should retroactively do it for already existing tracks, but it's worth considering, at least!
God this scene was so cool, love how the music followed it. Favorite part has to be An Ending steadily building up, with Bonestroule joining in amore heroic light, representing Papyrus literally defying Undyne.
"Now here we go, it's the end of the show, Hear them, they're calling your name... 'Cuz in the end, it's you and your friends! You'll find your flaaame..."
YEAH, that particular face we used was a Jojo ref. He has some other really cartoony faces, too. His overall outfit was very over the top, anime-ish to fit IF MTT's more shounen look.
You know that part in the comic where after you beat alphys undyne gets angry and breaks the security camera monitor the song that plays during that isn’t in the ost so if you compose it can you upload it to UA-cam or get it on SoundCloud if you didn’t make it
We do have some playable content, but it definitely is more manageable in its current format. A full game would probably require years of development, and eventually I need to move on to original projects so I can make a stable living. Obviously, not 'til I finish IF, tho!
I gotta love this bravely second theme leitmotif you hear at the start and i think somewhere else still too Its just such a good theme and you guys mixed all these themes together perfectly making such a great music
I loved the Captain's Conflict inclusion in this. I wish you could upload an extension of Captain's Conflict itself soon, it's probably my fave theme from IF hehehe :3
Thanks! The full animation can be found on Fireglobe Productions (we linked the playlist in the description). I mostly used footage from it because the song was timed to the visuals, so it felt like a smart move to show that. :o
Yeah, I got a huge backlog of music to upload here, tbh. The hangup I always run into is feeling like I gotta do more than just slap a still image on the video, but then I start overthinking visual presentation. It's a curse, haha.
@@Dorked thats fair, I get that some times. I start thinking the work I did isn't enough and that I HAVE to do more. But as for this, its just music to showcase, and I think this is passable. The work put into the comics and other things is alone alot, so don't stress to much about these. I'm excited for the release of the next Fireglobe video, whenever that may be. Idk how much you have to do with that, if you're even associated at all, but since you are the creator of IF, I'm assuming you have a hand in it. I haven't read the comics, comics just can't hold my attention for very long. Video formats are my go to. But yeah, I'm excited for whats in store. Good luck
@@Tree6363 I would say it's worth giving the webcomic a shot, tbh- at least through the official website. It integrates music and (in later chapters) sound effects into the reading experience, so it's not all that different from the videos, just with less animation. Just watching fireglobe's videos leaves a lotta context missing. It's your call, tho.
@@Dorked yeah ik im missing alot, but I think I got down the main plot. The only big things I'd say I'm missing is some asgore and alphys stuff, but thats about it, so I'm content
@@Tree6363 Eh, I suppose. IF is just a heavily continuity-driven AU, and the comic chapters are a really important part of the story. You can get big plot points from the videos, but a lot of the really important character moments are lost. If you tried the site and couldn't click, that's chill. I mostly just mention this since with a story this packed, there's a lot that hasn't been adapted to video or playable form (in large part due to how huge of an undertaking that is). Sadly, we just don't have a big enough team to animate everything, and even the comic portions take a ton of work.
I remember, about a month before this arc started, I found the teaser animation and thought this was a dead AU Oh how wrong I was Turned out, I had found my favourite AU, I just didn’t know it yet
Listening to this remind's me of how i reacted to undyne's and mettaton's almagation stomach kinda turned from that idk why Im still wondering what they were saying in this form
Huh, so we pretty much got a Omega-Flowey/Asirel-the-God-of-Hyperdeath-like boss fight with Undyne? Huh, kind of makes you wonder, what the actual Final Boss of this AU will be like?
I'd say the similarities are a bit surface level, though there were definitely some nods to the UT neutral ending with the initial Determinator fight! I dunno how much of the original comic you've seen of the original comic (I know some people might be stumbling upon this through my OST uploads), but there's a lotta context surrounding this crazy encounter. x) But yeah, the final arc is gonna be... something, haha. Hopefully something good!
It was accidental here. I mostly just noted it because enough of my patrons noticed it. Don't Forget IS used in some of the mus_ tracks like ascend and rift for a more... recontextualized and ominous reason. But it's not a character motif.
If I do, probably not on this channel since there are tracks I didn't make, and I'd feel kinda crummy monetizing content that they did (this channel is monetized). We might do "arc" osts on fireglobe since IF's soundtrack is so massive. e.g. one for the Ruins, Snowdin, etc.
Yo dorked, can you post something like this but instead it’s Everything’s not fine? I really like the song so can you make a 1 hour version of it? You don’t have to put the leitmotifs btw and thanks
Hey, for some reason I touched a dancing Papyrus and it sended me to a letter of flowey to chara(? then I clicked again and it sent me to a windings thing, i checked and you can access to there with GASTOS, but the question is, why Papyrus sent me to there?
@@xoduty1424 That's just how it works. The birthday papyrus sends to one of two pages. The pages are handled the same way as the secret pages accessed through the GASTOS, so they redirect back to it.
@@Dorked Yes but I'm talking about the character, why Bday Papyrus has access to those GASTOS pages? does he want to tell us a message, a warning or he has an evil plan to find all GASTOS pages and then do something very evil?
I have a negative association with Why and One Shall Previal. They overshadow the actual AU and its actual soundtrack. :( I just don't like IF being combined with genocide run concepts- it doesn't fit the AU for a number of reasons. I can respect the effort that went into the songs, but I've just gotten jaded over the years.
@@Dorked yeah, it's really sad how many remixes there are of the fanmade songs and how few of the original soundtrack of inverted fate, and, to say the truth, I got introduced to this au by those songs too, but now I can say I am a real fan of inverted fate, I have listened to all the soundtracks, I have readed all off the comic, and, even if the fanmade songs overshadow the actual ones, I still need to thank whoever made them because they introduced me to this fantastic project.

Still one of my favorite songs from this AU. Great job!
Thanks! :) Glad you enjoyed it.
One of the best inverted fate songs besides the land of ice and snow
Thanks! We worked very hard on it.
Very moving soundtrack. :)
Thanks! This was easily one of the most ambitious tracks made for the soundtrack, with how long it was, plus how we had to time it to the video.
god, this song is absolutely beautiful.
the reunited motif makes me tear up, and the song entirely makes me want to cry with joy-
God this scene was so cool, love how the music followed it. Favorite part has to be An Ending steadily building up, with Bonestroule joining in amore heroic light, representing Papyrus literally defying Undyne.
That Reunited leitmotif in the beginning caught me off guard in the best way possible.
"Now here we go, it's the end of the show,
Hear them, they're calling your name...
'Cuz in the end, it's you and your friends!
You'll find your flaaame..."
IT'S DORKED
It's-a meeeee.
I can't believe Burgerpants looks like a Jojo character in Inverted Fate
YEAH, that particular face we used was a Jojo ref. He has some other really cartoony faces, too. His overall outfit was very over the top, anime-ish to fit IF MTT's more shounen look.
You know that part in the comic where after you beat alphys undyne gets angry and breaks the security camera monitor the song that plays during that isn’t in the ost so if you compose it can you upload it to UA-cam or get it on SoundCloud if you didn’t make it
Ah, yeah, "The Call." That's one of Mada's tracks, so I'd feel bad uploading it here- I'd also wanna ask permission before putting it on Fireglobe.
Amazing as always! I still remember being mind blown while watching this battle and hearing this for the first time. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! We definitely put a ton of work into that set of chapters, and I think it paid off.
@@Dorked Oh it definitely did. I am so curious what's gonna happen next...
I love this au so i dont care If this never going to be a game it so cool and nice ost
We do have some playable content, but it definitely is more manageable in its current format. A full game would probably require years of development, and eventually I need to move on to original projects so I can make a stable living. Obviously, not 'til I finish IF, tho!
I don't remember watching this,
And some how also got in my liked playlist
My memory is broken 💀
I gotta love this bravely second theme leitmotif you hear at the start and i think somewhere else still too
Its just such a good theme and you guys mixed all these themes together perfectly making such a great music
I loved the Captain's Conflict inclusion in this. I wish you could upload an extension of Captain's Conflict itself soon, it's probably my fave theme from IF hehehe :3
Oh how I've longed for this song to come on youtube.
I love how all of Frisk’s friends have a better role in this besides the dates and the ending
Must say amazing job to the both of you for this amazing music animation here lovely job making this man👍👍
Thanks! The full animation can be found on Fireglobe Productions (we linked the playlist in the description). I mostly used footage from it because the song was timed to the visuals, so it felt like a smart move to show that. :o
@@Dorked agreed 👍 but I mostly seen the full play list many times Like 7 times:)🙂
How do you keep dropping one banger after another it’s insane 😩
One of the highlights of the year.
True lab was awesome. I need to read through the whole comic again while I wait for more parts lol
That's not a bad idea! It might be good to be refreshed before the final arc begins in 2022.
i like re-reading inverted fate, it reminded me of who mysirm was
I was trying to find this song the other day, its very good. Well done
Thank you so much!
Oh my I got here fast. That's always my reaction to a new video. Very cool though!
Yes, I've been waiting to see this one up here! It's one of my favorites. 💖
Glad to hear! :) Meant to get to it sooner, but I always have weird anxieties about production on these vids. I should probably worry less about that.
I remember, about a month before this arc started, I found the teaser animation and thought this was a dead AU
Oh how wrong I was
Turned out, I had found my favourite AU, I just didn’t know it yet
One of the best songs of Inverted Fate
Listening to this remind's me of how i reacted to undyne's and mettaton's almagation stomach kinda turned from that idk why
Im still wondering what they were saying in this form
Nice
Banger
@@Dorked heh, i could imagine, i guess we’ll just have to wait and see, huh😏😉?
Mus_monster with leitmotifs and time signatures would be awesome
Is the don’t forget motif for anyone in IF?
It was accidental here. I mostly just noted it because enough of my patrons noticed it.
Don't Forget IS used in some of the mus_ tracks like ascend and rift for a more... recontextualized and ominous reason. But it's not a character motif.
Will you make a full ost kinda thing for Inverted fate?
If I do, probably not on this channel since there are tracks I didn't make, and I'd feel kinda crummy monetizing content that they did (this channel is monetized). We might do "arc" osts on fireglobe since IF's soundtrack is so massive. e.g. one for the Ruins, Snowdin, etc.
"Frisk!!!"
If mettaton wasn’t there, would undyne have thrown the spears at them in that last cutscene? Just curious.
It's the anniversary Brithday Papyrus. There's a 50% chance to get either the Flowey page or a different page.
@@Dorked yea but why he sended me to there? what does Party Papyrus have to do with those pages lol
@@xoduty1424 It's just a little icon for Inverted Fate's anniversary. Papyrus himself has nothing to do with the two anniversary pages.
Hey dorked,i have i question for you, what do you think about the fanmade inverted fate tracks?
Like one shall prevail, fractured within, etc?
0:34 i know theres no leimotif but it sounds like that unused part of ybn
Huh, yeah, I can kinda hear that! I think that particular movement was inspired by Battle of Providence (Phase 2), since that was the basis for this song.
@@Dorked ooooh!
Furry undyne

this proves that peter giffin is the final boss of IF
pin this or else
Whelp. That's not going to get pinned.
Thats the only comment that has a 0-percent chance of getting pinned lmao
or else what?
@@TheEmeraldCreeper idk
Dorked did not, in fact, pin this - nor was there any "else".
