Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed this movie. This was all I expected and wanted from the movie. It was just a crazy adventure. Not every movie has to be deep. This was just a dumb fun movie.
I think this movie did well because audiences found it refreshing to finally watch a DC movie that's actually goofy and fun instead of another grimdark melodrama.
When I watch Wonder Woman, I learn that love and peace cannot exist without violence and hatred. When I watch Shazam, I learn that family isn’t necessarily whom you are biologically related to, but actually people who truly care for you, and real power comes from care and having allies. When I watch Aquaman, I learn......nothing.
I think comparing this aquaman to the previous joke of a character , and comparing this movie to the previous Jokes of dceu movies ... It comes of as amazing . It's average imao tho
I've never understood the "Rotten Tomatoes is bad" bandwagon. The main argument I've heard is that they occasionally rate movies poorly that the audience enjoyed (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Venom, etc.) But most of the time those movies are actually terrible, so I dont understand it lmao.

That line was so hilarious, I couldn't believe they put it in there. I spent the rest of the movie thinking about how stupid it would be to make Arthur literally king of a culture he knew nothing about and then disappointed in Mera because she would make a better ruler but she seems consigned to marry whoever ends up as king. Then I realized how terrible all the female characters are because they both just do what the men around them want, then thought about the reasons it's not actually anything like Thor or Black Panther because those plots make sense and have good characters and then... This movie is just kind of stupid a lot I guess. I actually liked the visuals most of the time though. City under the sea is shiny.

Went to see this movie with a friend and couldn’t stop laughing the whole time. “Call me Ocean Master.” I died
That line was so hilarious, I couldn't believe they put it in there.
I spent the rest of the movie thinking about how stupid it would be to make Arthur literally king of a culture he knew nothing about and then disappointed in Mera because she would make a better ruler but she seems consigned to marry whoever ends up as king. Then I realized how terrible all the female characters are because they both just do what the men around them want, then thought about the reasons it's not actually anything like Thor or Black Panther because those plots make sense and have good characters and then... This movie is just kind of stupid a lot I guess.
I actually liked the visuals most of the time though. City under the sea is shiny.

In black panther they literally serve a man they all hate (killmonger) just because he won a fight. Honestly, Macon's death was more emotional than anything in this movie. I've come to know Macon in the time since the Covenant video, and as a result I came to know and love Macon as a character and as a person.
