  • @spicyjuniormint

    If you don't understand tremolo, you're probably using it wrong. It's not meant to chop your sound like helicopter. It's best for giving your sound some subtle movement, or a fast trembling sound. Listen to some country or rockabilly if you wanna hear what I mean.

    • @spicyjuniormint
      @spicyjuniormint 7 років тому +12

      jma111000 You're right! The rules are meant to be broken. But I just mean, it sucks seeing people demo a tremolo pedal and crank the rate and depth and then seeing people in the comments say "I hate this sound, it's so annoying". Like yeah, it's not really best at those settings. But in theory yeah, I agree with you.

    • @spicyjuniormint
      @spicyjuniormint 7 років тому +8

      Country on the radio is trash, but the classic and obscure stuff is full of gems. Especially from a guitar playing standpoint.

    • @spicyjuniormint
      @spicyjuniormint 7 років тому +3

      Sure! Townes Van Zant is the biggest recommendation I'd give. I think he's a fantastic songwriter and a total legend. Other wise I'd say Chet Atkins and Duane Eddy are some great country guitar players. Sturgill Simpson does country rock but better than you're used to hearing. And if you want something funny and stupid check out The Beet Farmers. That's about the best I can do!

    • @morristgh
      @morristgh 7 років тому +2

      I also think that I have a hard time liking tremolos of someone is just jamming on guitar but they can definitely be cool in context of a song!

    • @Todesnuss
      @Todesnuss 7 років тому +2

      The thing with this pedal is that it's exactly meant for that crazy stuff. If you want subtle movement this isn't the pedal you wanna buy anyway. Because of that it's appropriate to show where it can go. I personally don't care for subtle movement and have been looking for a trem that can do weird choppy stuff.

    Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but that sound everytime The Cap hits his leg would be the reverb spring in your amp I'd say. Being that you're on the top floor now, floor boards probably has a little more bounce in them. Love the reviews btw & love a bizarre trem FX. Particular where it sounds almost like an OD. GRITTY is a word for, some would say shitty too.

    Hello hello The Captain and hello hello Chappers, my name is Kevin and i come to you from Green Bay Wisconsin and i was wondering what i would have to do to become the lucky recipient of a Free guitar that you have played on/in a video here on youtube? Preferably a Gibson LP, or a maple board Fender strat. Hell, anything that either of you have played with, and on a video would be the Absolute Best. An autograph would be pretty cool as well. You both are the best and i look to you both for guidance when it comes to reshearching new amps and pedals. Keep up the good work and i hope to hear from you both.

    The comedian with the stuttering microphone was Norman Collier. He made a career out of pretending his mic wasn't working and also doing a chicken impression. I am not joking, he was on TV in the 70's and 80's and that was all he ever did. He's got stuff on UA-cam if you want to see what passed as entertainment back then.

  • @Mee218
    @Mee218 7 років тому

    Can you all do a video on how a "dearest" guitar becomes a dearest guitar, including section on appreciation and depreciation? Part of why I ask is because I'm currently shopping for a Fender Jazzmaster and it seems like buying a guitar that will appreciate in value isn't like it used to be at all. Buying American, ensuring that the hardware is top-shelf, intentionally looking for some interesting or seemingly brilliant *NEW* function on an old standard could end up costing you a lot of money too. So is the age of financial, non-sentimental appreciation over, or can I buy a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe, and expect it to appreciate the same way that the exact same model made in the 1970's has? What's the difference, and how do we figure it out?
    I don't believe buying an old guitar is always the "right" move to make (it depends completely on your style and fingers), but if you're an amateur with dreams, looking at a guitar as an investment as well as an instrument, the questions above are very important.
    Thanks,
    -Miguel

    If I was a tremotron my super power would be for the hold ground to shake, but for me I'm not shaking. I am attached to the ground while watching people fly up in the air and lose their balance.
