Thanks for the video. I was renovating a house today and the customer threw out a small safe and I asked if I could have it. She said she didn’t know the combination and the keys were in it and it was locked open. Your video helped me find the combination.
Did the same thing. My wife's parents retired and sold their home, and my wife and I inherited their old safe. Dad had misplaced the combination but had locked it open. After it spent a couple of years in my basement, I was cleaning things up downstairs and decided to figure out the combination or pitch it. Five minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and turning the knob and I have a functioning fireproof safe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This safe belonged to my late parents who didn't use it, but left it locked with the door open. I was about to put this safe out on the curb as the folks who previously own your safe did. Now I might actually use it myself. Fantastic.
Thanks for the great video. My neighbor threw out an empty safe with door locked open like your safe and was able to get the combination that way. I even lube up the dial and mechanism. Heavy safes. My dad and Uncle were both Locksmiths on the side and opened for customers vintage safes and made keys. Most relatives who could not get the safes open thought there was a lot of money in them but, just paper work. Take care!
Thanks so much Jim! It's good to be (hopefully) back. I agree about the wifey's suggestion. She really does listen while I yammer on about things I'd like to build :)
Thanks for great video. My safe had a plastic cover ap99 series with 4 locking bolts. Just a few minutes to remove that cover and followed what you did to find slots. 👍
I work for bank and I’m trying to get in to one they had me throw out most of the time the bigger ones will have a combo on the inside but if there is a key hole on the tumbler it usually locks the tumbler so it can’t be turned
A safe that size would be a nice forge. Seeing as you know the combination why not keep it as safe. I hope all is well with you and your family. GOD Bless.
I have a locked Sentry 1200 safe that my mother didn't leave me the combo for prior to her passing last year. Any idea as to what to do at this point? Thanks Zack!
Yes perhaps you should turn a fire safe into a forage. You are aware that these safe emit moisture when heated to protect the contents? A metal box would make a better forage. Now why not forget the comb, close the safe and see how long it really takes you to "crack the code".
Now, on the whole, a house fire does not reach forging heat, so it might not be as forge-worthy as some might think. Unless you, like, fill it with dirt first. But it's good that you got a workable safe from it.
Being a vault technician one the hardest vault to open when we have mechanical problem in the vault is chubb vault door ....becouse of plenty of emergency lock
Someone sat this First Alert Mechanical safe next to the dumpster at my Sons Apartment Complex It was very heavy, but I got him to put it in my car. I just could not drive away and leave it there. Now I need to open it.
If you already have it open why dont you just open the access panel to the gears that set the combo ,pull the set pin reset discs to new combo . Put cover back on . But that begs the question why didnt the original owner do that.
I just picked up a Sentry safe off the side of the road to try to open. My kids need it for their travel trailer. It doesnt have a handle that moves and probably going to be a challenge
Thanks a lot Steve. It's been an interesting go lately (not bad) and somehow the channel really fell by the wayside. I'm hoping to get spun back up and into the video business again. Time will tell. Thanks for thinking of me man!
@@ZackOfAllTrades Not only thinking my friend, set a prayer your way. I know life gets in the way and filming, editing and uploading takes time. I'd be honored if you subscribed to my channel Zack. I'm working on Starsky Torino #43 and doing a little video series of the process.
Hey how's everything going I have the same safe also. my safe is left right left I noticed you turn safe RT LT RT both ways will give you a combination but LT RT LT WAS FACTORY setting when i bought it new.
I suppose you could use a stethoscope. I've heard of old timers using sand paper to rub their fingertips raw so they could feel the pins fall in place......now thats dedication.
how'd it turn out? someone gave me one free on facebook marketplace.. i'm sure nothing is in it but i want to use it for my important papers to be safe if there is a fire
@@DN-zh1bv I bought a stethoscope, and I put a few hours into it. I just didn't have the patience/skill, but I could certainly hear the mechanisms pretty well. Also tried using the sander-vibration trick to shake the tumblers into place. No bueno. Ended up contacting a lawyer to write me a letter to present to the safe company, and they sent me the combo. Could've gone the destructive route, but this was easier, and the lawyer cost is offset by preserving the safe itself. Contents were... interesting lol
Cool, but not really too useful if you have lost the combination with it locked, or buy one that is locked and closed. Thumbs up though! Well produced video.
I Just Cracked The Code On This ABANDONED Safe! @@jacksonwheeler4731 He can't because there are bolts that latch the hinge side of the Sentry safe door. Even if he cut the hinges off, the safe would still be locked.
I’m sorry you felt it was misleading, the point I was trying (poorly I guess) to convey was that the bolt was in the locked position but the door was open. That’s what allowed me to peek at its guts and crack it’s combination.

I'm guessing it was more than likely thrown out and left in open position and person that threw out was upgrading to a Real Burglar Safe..
I was searching minecraft AntiAC server Cracked and i saw this and ill leave a like and sub cuz this can help me 1 day ill now watch it

I have the same exact safe and it is easy to get the combo by removing a panel on the inside of the door
Welcome back Zack!
Thanks for sticking around Marc!!
Not really cracked when you can see it articulate from the open position, but a cool way to recover a lost combination nonetheless!
You can reset the combination from the inside... Watched up to the 2min mark.
I needed you a few years ago
You can use the info on the inside of the door and the company will give you the combination. I like your method better though.👍👍✌
I wondered about that. It was much faster though :)
I just got one for free but no combination.. would you happen to have the combination when u open.. who knows maybe it I'll open it lol lmk thanks
That was pretty cool there Zack---
Thanks Beerbelly, I couldn't not make a video of it :)

Glad I could help!
If it is open only takes minutes to recover combination!
So good to see a new post! 👍
Thanks GrayBeard!
That was easy. Luck the inside cover was removable. Neat little recovery!
WAYY easier than I expected
Amazingly lucky it was locked open!
Yeah that's what I thought!
Zach please help my mom and I. My dad passed unexpectedly and we never knew the code. Our electric was shut off today.

That's because he can see the discs. Th factory combination is based on the fact that you rotate a few times to reset all discs first
How to open sentry safe lost key combination?
Locks it closed
Oh shit i forget what the code is
Nice score
I thought so

just started watching.... the panel on the back of the door? take it off and change the orientation of the wheels

*Yup! That's Really a Simple Setup on that one!*
I was surprised at the simplicity as well as how easy it was to access the works.
Can you change the combination??
That's a good question, I'll have to look closer to see if the tumblers could be re-indexed thus changing the combo

on this model you can bang the hinge pins up and out but it will still be locked because of internal pins. you didn't crack this safe. click bait.
