How to open a gate drop safe in 60 secs or less (with practice). Step by step tutorial on how to manipulate a safe dial to get the combination to open.
I had a feeling you were going to be carefully unstacking the dials when you first started talking about what you were exploiting. I have been looking into this as an option for cracking S&G 8077's and 8088's. Theory being when you hit the area of the right number that it will shift the wheel pack slightly when you tug the shackle, but as yet I have not been able to get that to work, stiffness in the dials has interfered just a little too much to get that accurate a reading. I have been able to get them cracked open with other means though, especially using a shim down the shackle, though the 8077's seem to have a real vulnerability to decoding the 3rd digit.
I can’t remember the last number to my graffunder safe. If I do my normal first two combinations and get back to 0 to go for my 3rd number can I go every 2 numbers and move back towards 0 until I find my 3rd and final number to my combination?
Correct. Just dial the first two normally and rotate once (if its a gate drop, and start at zero (or 15 if you want to do a third number skip) and check the gate or each second number. Should be pretty straightforward...
If the gates from the 1st and 2nd wheel are already under the fence then why just not backdial the 3rd wheel until the gate is under the fence again, or did I miss something?
@@safecrackerbot9742 what you mean by 'bump the wheel'? If you are careful and just backdial CW in increments of 2, go back to check the fence it should be fine. Thanks for the heart ;)
So, its possible to just dial the third wheel and check the gate. I just perfer to rexord the position of the wheels and them dial. But you are correct. You can just try the third wheel.
@@safecrackerbot9742 yeah that's what I always try first because I can't feel nor hear a wheel pick-up. I am already glad that I can feel/hear the nose against the drive cam. LOL
I have a chance to get a couple safes for free and they are OPEN but with no combinations. Can I just turn the dial and watch the back and get the combination that way?
Absolutely. That isnhow I confirm the codenwith my autodialer. It can drift over a couple days and even though it opens the safe, the combo may be a couple numbers off. Just dial normally and when a gate lines up, check the dial number. Email me if you need help
If you're open then should be able to access the inside lock cover, remove and visible see where the gates line up. And fire out which wheel is the first, second, third, etc.
Hello I'm a fellow locksmith too. So what if the last person tried all 3 numbers again in the combo a few more times and was wrong on one or more , or all of the numbers in the combo, and the wheel pack is now on way different numbers. Will this method still work ? If so where do you start now, if not then can you figure it out by still starting on the 3rd wheel until you pick it up then feel for the gate drop? And continue the process?
No. If you move the wheels from the correct combo, it wil not work. This method relies on the dial not being moved since it was last closed AND the person that closed it not turning the dial three times. If these are the case, you need to use the standard manipulation method. Here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/whNwQGZSqHk/v-deo.html
I manually crack. If that doesnt work I put the dialer on it. The mechanism is extremely reliable. Iv3 had bery few that had a damaged mechanism our of regular use
For the quick crack, the dial cant hav3 been moved since the last time it was closed. If its been moved, you have to use the standard manipulation technique
😃awesome!!
Great video!!

Outstanding!! Always happy to help

You can. But sometime you bump the wheel and ita oit of alignment.

would this work on a Mosler 302 with black label? Thanks

Dynamite from ACME
Also how did you know it was clockwise to open?
Its was a gatedrop dial. All ive cracked are all CW to open
Can you help me with my safe we just acquired that hasn’t been open since 1940???

seemingly confusing and contradictory
I tried to explain but mayne not as clear as I'd hoped. Sorry if it was confusing
Quick crack car wash
Why were you going to zero?
Check the gate
@@safecrackerbot9742 thanks. I'm an alarm and CCTV guy. I get asked about safes all the time.
@@safecrackerbot9742 why zero to check the gate?
Arpubd zero is usually the gate. Actually between 10 and 14 but you have to turn past zero to see if the gate has dropped
I need help that didn't work
You will need.to do the standard manipulation method. I have a tutorial on that. What type of safe are you needing to open?
