Don't generalize. I have the lark max but now I just ordered the lark M2 because it's exactly what I need: I need small and light mics to put on kids and people for casual interviews. I don't need internal recording for these situations. I definitely don't need 32 bit recording for these situations. Just choose the tool for the task. There is no one fits all solution!

DJI MIC 2 is the one size fits all solution, $350 one time purchase.

transmitters are too big and heavy for my purpose. I'm very happy to pay 130 bucks to have this extra lightweight option in my bag whenever i need it. Someone might think it's a lot of money, and I respect this of course. I might be getting the DJI MIC 2 later this year. The good thing is those things are easy to trade when you change your mind.

@@Verde88Thats the reason why I am looking at a Hollyland Lark. Because its doesn’t come with the brick you attach to your shirt like the others… Plus, its not so much about the equipment. It’s about the talent. There is a guy that took an iPhone and used its camera and made a Hollywood movie (It was a popular one but the name escapes me. You can google movies made with an iPhone). And his editors swore he used a $50K Red camera to do it… So I would say we should become more talented and that way we can say. Hey! I used this to make that! The shock factor would be priceless!!

That mic technique is terrible, full of popping plosive noises that makes the voice hard to listen to- a sensitive mic is not designed to be used in front of your mouth like that.
Lower it a few inches and point it at your mouth and the problem will go away (if you MUST hold it instead of using it as a lav)

Have you heard the comparisons? The M2 is definitely improved over the M1, extremely close in sound quality to the DJI and Wireless Go II and has a completely unique form factor. Pretty compelling I'd say. To your other points:
    - At the price point and given the tiny form factor, the absence of internal recording is understandable. Frequency skipping technology means you'll almost never have an issue. Even if you do you're likely monitoring in-camera and you'll know straight away.
    - 32-bit float is absolutely not a must, either, if you set your levels right. The M2 also has a 115dB sound pressure level so you'll almost never clip.
    - Agree they should have included a display but again, it's not a big loss at the price point.

Try the M2, I just got it as a smaller run & gun type of system. It's really good. Also, the app helps with the settings & it works pretty well. Just takes a few seconds to load & sync... but I like the "Loud" audio setting w/ "Weak" noise canceling for iPhone.

Hollyland LARK M2 is an excellent piece of audio equipment. Spending double to triple the price is not "worth it". I have bought this set and it is excellent. Your video unfortunately is very biased and almost silly and ignorant! it is as if you were paid to trash a good product! Come on now! Internal audio recording on a wireless mic is not a standard until recently. I wonder why I have not had any issues with the Lark M2. 24 is fine too! If you are good at your job you dont need raw.

No matter how good your audio quality is if your content is not useful then it doesn’t mean anything. 32 bit float is for people who talk too close too loud. Internal recording is pain in the butt to sync to edit. The display screen is nice but it’s not the end of the road. I think Lark Mark 2 is good for the price. It’s super simple and convenient. Lightweight and compact and reliable. I know sound quality is important but not everyone crazily into perfect audio.

BRO.. you are complaining about an affordable and cheaper than other manufactor Mic system, O F C O U R S E, at this price, it can not have internal recording, built in display, 32bit float recording, and ultrawide compatibility, THAT´S WHY IT IS ABLE TO COST LESS THAN THE COMPETITION. You know, there are PRO people that know what they need and want. And if you are a PRO, set it up right, AND have always the same conditions, YOU KNOW, you don´t need a built in display, 32bit float and ultra wide compatiblity. So there you have it - It sounds great and has all some people need for the lowest price.

to be honest, it all depends what you needed for. I have the dji mic 1 and got rid of the 2 because of lack of noise cancelling and the fact that I can't use it with the native app of iPhone. I only use my phone, so I decided to go with the Lark M2 because its great for what I need it, travel videos, quality is pretty darn good, and is ultra light and small. I absolutely going to use it way more than my dji mic 1 because I was always scared someone would steal it, its a pricey piece of equipment, but now, Im now I'm not too worry and ill be using it in all my travels. Also, for this kind of video, you should have use the lark m2, instead of having to hold your mic on your hand, looks slightly silly.

I kinda like the Lark m2 that has the different receivers. I get the DJI mic is a once size fits all, but that receiver is big and annoying having it dangling off your phone. I'd also be worried about it falling off since it's a fairly expensive system. I dunno, but the lark is tempting. 9 grams? The DJI mics are 30 grams. That's like less than 1/3 of the weight. Also the size... Like damn, I've never seen such a tiny wireless mic. I might be able to give up the features like internal recording and 32 bit float just for the size factor.
