Is this intermediate level enough to play Overjoyed? Or do you need advanced or super advanced level?)
This guy keeps revealing my secrets and it's starting to get annoying 😤
With this particular melody structure, this exercise is akin to what I have been practicing for almost 2 years; have made 3 beautiful songs with these simple techniques.
In this case, it was a man named Charles Berthoud who gave away your secre*****, oh wait I meant his own secrets.😊
I had to sell my bass because of health and economic reasons but if I ever recover the physical strength in my body/dexterity in my elbow and wrist as well as find a place to live again, I will continue to do what makes me happy. Music.
I mentioned it once before in a thread on one of these channels, being abandoned by fellow musicians and having my musical talent unappreciated has pushed me to the edge of quitting music altogether. There is only 2 reasons why I never quit, my late father who was my best support in music and a bass player who has your same last name, looks just like you, plays just like you and cone to think of it, IS YOU. It all started when I watched your cover of MAD WORLD and tried to replicate what you did (something I have yet to figure out how the heck you did that).
I tip my hat to you Charles, want you to know that you made a difference. Thanks man.
Sue him !
Pretty rich from a guy ripping off Dave503…
You two should fight!
Maybe we need a Bass Battle... Tutorial
Safe to say I'm now the center of attention in the school auditorium 😁😁
Even though I’m a guitarist, I’ve always enjoyed melodic tapping on bass more. It brings me back to my roots as a musician, because piano 🎹 was the first musical instrument I learned to play on.
This is the most fun bass lesson I found on YT so far.
best video for tapping in the whole youtube. I had to learn the second one in C Major because i have only 20 frets but more challenges means more fun. And your chord progressions give me goosebumps. Looking forward to your next videos!!!
I literally tried tapping for the first time 2 days ago. I am an absolute beginner. This isnt easy for me. But if i take it very very slow i can see that if i practice it, i can learn this skill very quickly. Thank you ! 🙃👍
Please please please please, a video about the set of equipment you use ❤️❤️❤️
Your playing is, as always, fantastic. Thanks for this lesson. :-)
it's a pleasure to learn from you, thanks.
Happy to help!
I always viewed tapping as something that was just beyond me. A month and a half ago roughly i decided to see if you had any tapping lesson videos and found your beginner exercise vid. Now Im working on the ones in this video and having a blast. Thank you
Nice! I needed new exercises. Thank you!
That’s awesome thx for the lesson
Very nice, sounds beautiful
You always come up with such beautiful harmonies...!
Thank you, Sir ❤❤❤❤
Awesome! Thanks, Charles!
You’re a great teacher Charles!
charles you are truly the best
Thank for you this chancel this is a gold mine for me
Thanks man your are the best
I LOVE THIS MAN!
this sounds so good and im going to have to try to play it but just watching it makes my head spin LOL, the explanation is pretty straight forward but now i gotta get my hands to cooperate XD
Charles please make a video about tetsuo sakurai's famous bass solos and lines. I've kept waiting for weeks
Hey Charles long time fan. Really enjoying the lessons they have been super helpful. Sometimes I do struggle to keep up with the play along segments. Im not sure if the patreon has slower tracks or play alongs. Otherwise Im learning alot and really appreciate what your doing helping us get better at bass.
That's great to hear! Yes, one of the features of my Patreon is full-length practice videos starting slow and gradually building up to full speed
Vederlo fare da te sembra facile,ma nn lo è.Complimenti sei un fenomeno
Tapping😍♥️
makes my fingers tired to hold the strings down while tapping. Any tricks to keep the fingers relaxed doing this?
i only play air bass? ahem.. but now i wanna fiddle with the real thing. "nice" bro. thx 4sharing.
The 3rd exercise sounds kinda like the Ibanez Fretless Demo Video from Yuki Atori, he uses the exact same first phrase for that
advice on muting the other strings? I end up with a LOT of sympathetic ringing
I think I should learn this technique …
What neck and action setup do i need for tapping?
Cool 😎👍
Maestro please what game is it in and is there any way you can write the march please?♥️♥️♥️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😭😭😭😭😭😭
What pedals are you using?
Hi
👏🏻🥇
How can I get my right hand pinky stronger in taping
How do I make my fingers bend like that? 👀
Is it correct, that this will sound completely dissonant due to both sides of the string sounding at the same time and its only solvable by playing with loud amp / headphone or using a fret wrap?
Thanks for your great lessons!
You don't have to have your amp very loud. The pickups don't receive any of the signal from the other side of the string, so even at low volume your amp will drown out that sound!
@@BassCampOfficial Thanks, practicing with an amp at low volume helped a lot.
update on my comment from 2 months ago! I became a member on your Patreon! Do you have backing tracks for these exercises there?
nvm i found them :)))
Is it available for beginners as well Charles BB(Bass brother)❤
He does have a video for beginner tapping :)
Wow. tapping is much harder then slap. (Though I didn't work hard on double thumb yet)
Seriously, I can't do the

any tricks to bend my fingers like that???
2:20 is the time it happens
The most difficult thing for me is the motions between hands in different rhythm😢
Right? Like playing piano. Keep at it you will get it. I need to repair my bass and get back into this!
The more of these lessons I watch the more confused and lost I am. Nothing sounds even close, and I've no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Don’t give up. Lots of factors. He has his own developed unique play style. He has his signature bass with whatever strings he has on it. He has customized the setup of his bass. He has the equipment setup and equalizer settings and the output playback. And he’s got like 20+ years of practice under his belt. Give yourself time
Okay. Bass is one thing, but what about the other equipment, amp sound, mixed. Volume, .... And the quality of the pickups?
It sounds great, but the secret of the sound?
😏😇
Как это будет звучать и выглядеть на акустической бас-гитаре? =)
You should make a video about muting while slapping
I’m gonna be completely honest with you, muting on slaps is a completely inborn ‘skill’ and I don’t think it can be taught. Not that this guy couldn’t make a video and explain it, but muting is a ‘feel thing’, like cooking a steak med rare without using a thermometer. Remember, slap muting is all in your left hand (whatever hand is on the fretboard). Actually most of your slap technique will depend on your fret hand rather than your slap hand. Practice this…pick any 2 notes to slap with…do G (3rd fret) E string and next octave 5th fret D string, then practice slap the E (thumb) Pop the D (finger) and then slap the E twice. So slap/pop/slap/slap and then start replacing the last slap with a mute. Once you get into a rhythm, change the note on the second slap but continue to mute the G on the E string. Just work on the feeling in your fret hand. It’s hard to explain in text form, it would be easier if I could just show you.
And so he did...
