This reminds me so much of my first lesson with BassCamp 20 years ago... He's really grown as a teacher since then!
He's Great! He's also been playing bass for as long as I've been alive!
I'm so glad he started not just showing off(flaunt), but teaching as well
how to play really fast and improvise? How do you make arrangements?
When your belly grows, your bass guitar will rest on it.
Great Teacher ❤
Thank you for helping the bass community with videos like this! These videos have really helped me on my bass journey and I’m grateful that you’re sharing this wisdom :)
Glad to hear it!! Hope you're having fun 👏🏻🥉
Being that I just started off with bass last year, this video is a great refresher! You should make more "introduction" and "beginner" videos like this.
I appreciate your helpful tutorials. :)
Keep up the good work!
Slap on!
Just bought my very first bass today after many years of playing guitar, and you have a significant part in this decision
Honestly Charles thanks for making me want to learn Bass at all! I just got mine and am currently using Tabs to learn Basic songs
That's a great way to start! It's what I did in the beginning and definitely helped me learn while still keeping things fun 🔥
I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate these beginner videos! The fact that you are making these videos IN ADDITION to the content available on your Patreon really shows that you want to help everyone learn.
Thanks so much for being one of the people who got me into bass. I have been playing bass for about 4 months now, and been loving every second of it.
I love all your videos. Although most of them are things that I already know, I still see them and feel like I learned something new. Nice work Charles. I hope to one day be as better as you with my bass... 🤜🤛
As a beginning bassist I just want to say thank you so much for the content you’ve been uploading! It’s absolutely overwhelming to sift through all the content on YT to find out what’s going to give the best long term results and since you’re my favorite bassist and one of my favorite musicians in general it makes it very easy to trust your content and so much less overwhelming. So thank you! ❤️🖤
The rule "Having the strap-length for comfortable sitting and standing" is REALLY useful! For me, the body of the bass just rests between my legs, for a more upright position.
Love your videos! Thanks so much for everything you do for all of us!!!
I like your teaching style it’s more fun than others I’ve found I only started playing bass yesterday I hope you upload more beginner content
This is such a must for any beginner bass player. This video could have saved me a ton of time when I first started.
Charles, this is truly a great lesson to beginners! I hope that more and more kids will understand the power of BASS and pick up this amasing instrument!
By the way, could you please do another lesson about composing (especially using tapping, cuz I don't know how to use this to make beautiful basslines like you do (e.g. in your part in Jared Dines' shred collab 6)). Thank you!
I really enjoy your videos and I'm learning from them. Im new to the bass but loving it! Thank you for helping us new Bassists. You are one talented person and I hope to play half as good as you one day.
I love your videos.
I have a question for you. Forgive me if you’ve already been asked this, but how do you build stamina and endurance on your plucking fingers. Mine get tired and sore quickly 😅. Help!
Hey Charles, if you could make some "exercise play along videos" that would be so great since its my favourite way to practice and you are the best!
You had me at “Hello my fellow Bass…. Bla-bla-bla” 😅
Very helpful to many people, I'm sure. What tuning app were you using?
I wish i had that video when I started bass.
Bass guitar is a lovely instrument, but learning it now is a bit like taking up banjo in 1930: a case of declining opportunities for players who want to perform in working jazz groups. So make sure you really love it, as upright seems to be in much greater demand at this time.

👏🏻🥈
What was the tuning app you were using?
I,m going to try to learn to play🎸🔊
Charles how are they gonna know what's 5 on the knobs? 😅
Subscribing👍
In the exercise you don't play quarter notes and quarter silence but half notes
now that i’ve found the light, i will let the light find me
the original Godzilla roar was made with a double bass.
This happened thanks to the power of Bass
