Regrading paper tanks Im actually okay with them when they are reasonable and well balanced..(issue is WT makes PTs OP and thus terrible). British paper tanks are a gold mine of interesting paper tanks during the cold war and would be neat to see them. I dont want them OP, I would like to see them reasonably implemented. PW ratios is usually the big issue with paper tanks.
As someone who hasn't played WT, I understood most of these words...

@Zoomer Stasi its not a problem with paper tanks, its problem with gaijin. Gaijin right now can, and do change characteristics of real vehicles in order to 'balance' them. For example f4f never had aim9j, it was carrying aim9l, and some of the russian tanks never had thermals and so on
As a old player of wot blizt where all the new top tier tanks are bullshit cold war inspired fantasy tanks, I say no thank you. The tiger 105 is ok but if we let them add more, the game will end up too arcady.
@@User-rn4bb Well technically the Soviets did test the Agava thermal sight on T-80B/BV’s, which was enough for Gaijin to give it thermals, which in my opinion is fair because it allows you to have the T-72B and the turms at 9.7 while the T-72B 1989 is at 10.0 with better protection but no thermals.
As for the T-80U’s, the tech tree one basically turns into a T-80UM, an early Russian modernization that adds Agava. The T-80UK always had thermals.
considering half of japans tree was never really used in the war, both tanks and planes, it is weird that they draw the line with tanks like this.
They add paper tanks only for nations that do not rly have much real tanks, thats it

@@funkymarco4411 the tiger II 10.5cm was more of a really strange "test" vehicle. And by test vehicle I mean, they enlarged a Tiger II turret, buched the giant 10.5cm gun inside the turret, and placed it on a fixed concrete structure to test it out. While it was not mountrd on a hull it still had the turret ring and turret control of a tiger II but on a concrete structure, similiar to those where they trained panther gunners and loaders.
And the problems was (besides losing the war, running out of resources, Himmler being high 24/7 trying to summon an arian super alien soldier, while Hitler was losing his nuts too) after a few round was fired, the recoil damaged the turret ring. Which meant it needed a new turret ring (did not have the time for that) plus they managed to mount the much more powerful 12.8cm gun inside the Tiger II chassie (JadgTiger) which meant that this slow loading two piece tank gun become sorta obsolete, even thou that both the 10.5cm and the 12.8cm was pretty much of an overkill during wwii as all allied tanks could be easily penned by the long 8.8cm at a decent distance.
But hey the bigger the better, am I right Mr Hitler? Can I get an Iron Cross now? Can I leave the showers now? No? Oh......
@@willdelta4292 The Germans managed to get their hands on an IS2 1944 and tested it , the front hull took 4 shots and the 5th penetrated . And they knew about the IS3 also , so they needed a better gun to deal with this heavy monsters . They also tested APDS ammo , smaller calibers fired from a bigger gun . So they were not crazy cause they build a 128mm , it was a armor/gun race back then . Maus , E100 and of course the P1000 Rat were a little too much , there they gone crazy . 😅

The test you are talking about was the very last live firing test that was attended by Hitler in person. The captured an early hull IS-2 (basicly an IS-1 but upgunned) which had a much stronger but also much more complex hull to produce due to the angles. While the soviets did claim that the newer 1944 hull were better, later tests by the US army showed in the korean war that it was actually just a hoax. And also this very last test visited by Hitler was performed with a long 7.5cm, a flak 36 (short barrel 88) and the flak 40 (12.8cm flak). Yes the short 88 had trouble going through the hull, while the long 7.5cm had much less, and the 12.8cm had none. And where was the long 88? I donno. Probably up some nazi officials arse or something.
The german (funnily) only tried a strange semi APDS round for the 12.8cm. While semi APDS? Because it wasn't a conventional APDS which the British used at the time, but rather a long 88, made to fit inside the 12.8cm gun. OFC with the large propellant, it but also smaller size and lighter weight, it achived better velocity, which also gave it a better short-mid range pen at 90°. But this never left the testing field because even the gun it fired it was low on prodiction. (Some JadgTigers only used long 88 because that's what they had on stock)
The IS-3 was never fielded by the USSR in WWII, and the German army had no idea about it either. Even the Allies were shocked on the Berlin Parade when it was 1st shown to public. This forced the allies to upgrade their new designes (Centurion, M26) but at this Germany was no more, and since most soviet vehicles were tested in Kubinka, which is next to Moscow, it was basicly impossible for germany to know anything about it at all. Abwher was no more at this point, the air force was done for so air recon was also off the bucket, the frontline was deep inside Germany. Unless Himmler managed to summon a super alien arian spy, which I doubt, it's just another hoax.
All they needed to do is shit out a hell of a tons of panthers with Schmalturm. And that is it. It was more then enought cost and performance wise during WWII, and if it wasn't enough they should have just founded the Panther II project more. The Tigers and above (Ferdi, SturmTiger, ect) were waste of resources. While they weren't bad designes at all due to the limited resources and manpower mass producing Panthers would have been the most logical. Maybe the JadgPanther too as it could carry the long 88 if needed. But anything else? Waste of resources.
The Tiger 2 105 is one of my favorite tanks in the game... I want to play it more but the constant up-tiers absolutely demoralizing.
Always take the Bulldog and Kanonenjagdpanzer with you. They don't care about uptiers and you can still switch if needed.
That and the absolute insane repair cost.
bro bulldog and flakpanzer 341 is all you need for higher AND lower BR. literally spawn in the 341 and shrek unsuspecting fools in allied airspace

I am absolutely blasted that you played this. It's by far my favourite German tank in the game and I'm so glad I got it and the panther 2 before it was removed. They honestly can start adding more German prototypes as long as they aren't ridiculously powerful bullshit like more of the E series would be really cool, but not being behind an event wall would be nice.
Or they could add a new gamemode called "a time before heat" where it's literally just conventional weapon tanks only. So imagine a battle with the tiger 105, maus, is4, is3, t34, t29, t32E1

Just Imagine how difficult warthunder would be if collision was realistic. So you couldn't turn the turret and driving next to stuff. Because it wouldn't clip through buildings or structures
Gun collision is actually implemented in the game, but only for one vehicle. Youll never guess which one

I remember back in 2015 sending in a suggestion on the old warthunder website to add bomber cockpits and the Avro Arrow. They responded with "bomber cockpits are on the way!" And that "the Avro Arrow is outside of the time period that Warthunder going to encompass"

I have a suggested aircraft for you, the XP-55, I constantly take the thing into 8.0 matches and consistently get kills on tanks and jets with it using the ground attack ammunition.
It's a quick plane, can pull some Gs and climbs well, but mostly it packs a punch for being a 4.3br fighter.
Also it's fun to see everyone trying to target you after you get a kill with it, just had a match where 3 jets and all enemy AA targeted me for a good minute or two letting my team take the win.

The Tiger 2 105 and Panther 2 was my favorite lineup for a while.
Although I do want this KT and the panther 2, I dont mind them being removed as much as the Coelian cause a mock up was actually done, it was unique and most important it was replaced by the ostwind 2... something that didnt actually freaking existed

@@TheTaker88 Its problem was the turret, the 88mm KwK 43 gun breech didn't fit into the schmalturm, if you check its have the 75mm KwK 42's gun breech with the 88's gun barrel modelled into the turret, my only problem with the Panther II in the game that you can't unequip the night vision devices, they are next to useless and they just make you a bigger target and hinder your aiming
@@k_balu-8104 ok, i didnt know that. i think the schmalturm is wrong anyway. Panther II was planned with ,,Turm schmale Blendenausführung,,. Pretty much a normal Panther-turret with mantlet like a schmalturm.
@@TheTaker88 its was, they even choosed it over the schmalturm, the Panther II wouldn't even used the 88mm, it was planned to use a 75mm cannon, i think it was the 75mm KwK 44 (bit later on) to fit into the schmalturm, but first they decided to use the already in production 75mm KwK 42 L/70, which remained a very potent anti tank weapon trough the war, over the 88mm, though the tank itself would have shared many of its components to the Tiger II, which would have made it logisticly way better than the Panther I, imo they should have gone with the project, its was already designed before the first engagement of the Panther D at Kursk

It makes me see the capabilities of a lot of vehicles more or less knowing about their quirks that make them unique so to speak, and for that I thank you. That being said, would ya mind doing another video on the MiG-21F-13? For its BR, it’s a pretty good quality jet given you have it upgraded and get your missiles, but as you know it doesn’t get flares, I’m sure you could pull off some sick missile dodges (like I do every now and again XD) Cheers man!

I would love to see more paper tanks added to WT. It would give Gijin the chance, once again, to finally add another mode like semi-historical or complete fiction tank battles. Though sadly, we know that this would NEVER happen within a Gijin game.

Paper tanks would help us reduce the gap between the tanks of the Second World War and the tanks of the Korean War period. And this, in my opinion, would make it possible to distinguish between these two eras of tank building
But then there'd be a bigger gap for secondary nations with already bare tech trees.

The problem with paper vehicles is that everything looks amazing on paper, but when it's graduated from theory into reality the problems start to accumulate and the weaknesses become evident. That's easy enough to do with tanks which reached prototype and especially for those that saw field service. You can account for those weaknesses to balance out the vehicle. But for the paper tanks you need to invent them and that takes work that the snail probably doesn't want to do.

Yeah but for things like this, it doesn't require any more work to balance than the Tiger II's already do.. It's got the same weaknesses as them. The Tiger II is the only real effective brawler that Germany has around this BR, but it's also the best sniper. This tank allows for you to be able to do both in the same battle, as it plays more into the brawling strengths - leaving the 88 clear to do it's long range job. The tanks play the same way, they have the same weaknesses and can either sniper or brawl, it just gives you the option to use the 88 (which holds penetration and velocity better over range) for it's preferred role, and the 105 (which has more brute penetration and explosive filler) for brawling. This is one of the few cases where they don't even need to worry about balance, they could literally just bring it back and it would be nothing but a positive change overall. I already see them in regular numbers, it's just a matter of letting people who don't already have it or never had a chance.
If they want lessons, Wargaming already has the E-Panzers series. The armor is more than it accounts but their bs RNG says otherwise
all tanks were paper tanks at some point, some remained paper tanks for other reasons though, it may have been production difficulty and cost or just lack of technology to make it worthwhile. in WT these difficulties are irrelevant so aslong as it can be balanced and doesnt break the laws physics, why not

I never finished researching the 105 tiger but I made sure to start on it so I’d have to possibility to unlock it in the future when I learned they were taking it out all those years ago. I’ve been thinking about finishing it lately, this just makes me want to more
It's always been worth it. It's a great tank with a slightly better engine (deisel like the premium Tiger II Sla so a bit more mobility when spaded) and a round that can more consistantly take out targets in a full uptier. I usually play the 105 first and use the regular Tiger II H as a backup.
Ditto, 'cept I rushed all the way to the Maus. And then I quit WT cold-turkey. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Id just love for them to bring back the 10,5cm Tiger II and the Panther II into the game. They are so cool and its hella unfair, that not anyone gets to play them.

@@froschreiniger2639 The 10,5 Tiger can penetrate up to 304mm at 10m while the sla16 can penetrate just up to 279mm at 10m (apcr) with both of them got a fastest reload rate of 8.0s ...
this might look like its not a lot but i guess it can make a huge difference...
@@vophatechnicus nobody uses APCR, it doesnt matter, the APCBC rounds are what matter and the 105 has slightly more pen like 20-30mm more pen but the reload is a few seconds longer

New concept for games. Games that get constant updates and are basically always new is what I consider live games
I think paper tanks are ok if A: the tree needs them, B: they were actually written up on paper and had plans to be made (even if they were eventually cancelled), C: They’re there to how they would’ve actually performed, and D: they could have actually been made by the nations at the time (aka no ratte)
I think the E100 and the maus and King Tiger or Jagtigerm were some of my favorite heaviest tanks of World War 2 on top of the t29 and M 103 even though it was too late in the war those tanks were some of the coolest designs I used to wreck with the m103

There one part in this video that stood out to me, where you said you should wait for the friendlies to make it to the cap before taking it, the first cap that is. Almost every game I play heavies in the fast tanks don't wait and you get no points and have to struggle then to get kills to make sure you can spawn in another vehicle. Some players are very greedy when it come to this we usually shoot at the tanks that run ahead to wait but they only think of themselves. I always wait for everyone even when I am in a quick tank but what happens then the others in the quick tanks still don't wait and take it anyway. Another things is player sitting in a spot staring at a tank and don't mark it and you get 1 shot by it when u move out or worse you shoot the tank take out the whole turret crew and the player who was sitting there doing nothing drives out and take the kill knowing they can't get damaged and steal your kills lol 😂. Most annoying is player see your damaged even after u kill the tank that damaged you they drive by and don't help u repair 😢

The saddest thing about the 10,5 is it's price of repair that is way too hight for the slight changes it has compared to the simple tiger II (H), when they removed all these vehicles, the maus was at 18k repair cost, then they added it back again at anniversary and it's now less than 10k repair, but the 10,5 is still at almost 15k for no reasons, i don't play it anymore because this vehicle cost way too much for the benefit of playing it
repair cost is linked to the stats of people palying it, it's still 15k because it's still as effective as before

The conversation about armor when earlier today my Achilles APCBC failed to pen the hull front of a T-34 twice and you get in the armor viewer and it has ~189mm of armor in that one spot. Yep, miss the good old days.
The T 34 us just another proof of Russian bias in the game. The armor is unhistorical rediculous.
I remember grinding the last few days to unlock this tank just before it got removed. Lots of telling off from my mum being on too long but I am glad to say I managed to get it on the last day and have enjoyed it very much ever since.

Everytime you see this guy in the game you know things are about to get real.
I remember when the maus got added and people got the T-34-57 to try to shoot the round down the barrell. Im pretty sure I rember either you or baron trying it. I also remember shooting KV2 rounds under the back neck of the turret on the Maus because volumetric didnt exist.
Really brings back the idea of 'land ships' or just naval cannons on tracks I guess.

Tbh I think War Thunder has completely jumped the shark on historical accuracy. The E series would be fun to add although it would be difficult for other players to fight no doubt. E100 is already in game as a special vehicle, but E75 and E50 could potentially be meta defining at their respective BRs. I think E50 would be 6.0 or 6.3, and E75 would be 7.0 or 7.3, both of which would strengthen already solid lineups

I have all 4 of the removed vehicles. Got 'em back in 2017. and to top it off, I got them all when they were full research and price for the time. 270,000 to 380,000 research. What a grind! Took me 2 weeks just to research the Panther II.
