Gotten three nukes with the French AML-90. It is my favorite tank in the game. I take it into 12.0 games all the time and snipe helis, shoot tracks and engines, 1 shot light tanks and AA, shoot an abrams in the back of the turret for a free ammo rack kill, sometimes I get lucky and get a bvm kill through the driver's port. Its a pure blast. I would recommend this tank to everyone, whether you play the French, Israel or British version.
There was an AML-90 is an abandoned factory near the Pennsylvania / New Jersey border a few years ago. My friend (the same one that led me to this channel!) saw a picture of it once on Reddit, and subsequently spent over a year trying to locate it. When he found it, our friend group went and checked it out! It was fairly rusted, but you could get inside and the vertical gun traverse still worked! It has since disappeared, and we're not sure how exactly -- it was in a fairly inaccessible part of the factory, so not really sure what happened. Does anyone have any idea how it could've gotten there, or simply how it could've gotten to the United States? It's the one thing that we've always wanted to find out.
The 16th of January 1986 there was a military exercise lead by the USA to prepare NATO members against any threats, the factory I believe you are talking about was supposed to hold hostages, the aml may be an elephant 90 (basically same vehicle)used to recreate the possible use of russian made light vehicles, after the exercise, a bomb was supposed to explode in the vehicle but it malfunctioned. Due to the lack of responsiveness from the French/English the aml was left there after it was bought in a auction in 2003 for 500k dollars
"My viewers are toxic and this is toxic". The whole French tech tree from about 6.3 to 9.0 is absolutely over-BRd and this is one of the rare vehicles that helps make the French 6-9 grind not-quite-so-awful.
They look good cause they don't stink like the rest of the French tree and correctly placed. I do believe the 7.7's could have stayed at 7.3 and of course AMX 30 1972 should not be 8.0. But generally the 7.0-7.7 French bracket is correctly placed. Ironically the only French tanks correctly placed until the Leclerc's and totally just coincidently the most enjoyable part before immediate suffering again at the now egregiously overbr'd AMX B2 series. @@crazyadam9281

If you want another 4-wheeler with a 90mm, our own Eland 90 (repping South Africa here) does the same thing in the Brit tree! (Don't mind the solid shot, it's not that big of a deal...)
Been grinding France and this AML-90 is by far the most fun. Way better than the EBR or AMX-13. Fighting USA and Russia with 50. cals or 12.7mm is a major pain in close quarters. Has more than enough pen but can be inconsistent. Biggest complaint is France has no AA between 4.3-8.3 because Gaijin hates them. It is peak gremlim energy.
Amx13 ss11 is much better than default amx. The middle are at a slight angle so you can fire over hills without revealing yourself. It’s like a way better bmp. The middle can’t be racked either, only disabled. I don’t know why it’s at 6.7 but aml and ss11 are my best performing vehicles
In South Africa they were called Noddy Cars by their crews (official designation Eland 90). They were extremely effective in Angola, against the Cuban and FAPLA forces that were equipped with T34-85 and T54/55 tanks, but only after they were upgraded to suit African conditions, of course.
The french made it to counter USSR massive fleet of tanks. They wanted a light, cheap, easy to maintain, easy to use but deadly scout tank to play hit and run with the soviet tanks.
I started by the french tech tree and hated the AML, i never managed to get shots right. After grinding the germans and getting some skill at figuring ranges I came back to it and its just incredible. Light tanks are really the way to go in warT.
I really like light tanks because there's realistically no downside to having weak armor in the game. Even the Maus can get penned. Just don't get hit lmao.
@@Kraus- Yes, my favorite is the M18, you can just move around, go back to cover before being fired at and destroy entire teams of retarded tigers and panthers... So much fun. Basically only mobility and firepower exist in warT, so why bother transporting useless armor ?

It's your video from 2018 with ARL-44 that i found randomly that made me want to try war thunder, and then 2020 with AML-90 that made me want to start playing RB and helped me to improve with light tanks a lot by not shooting everytime i see a target but waiting the right moments. Im sure i will enjoy this video.

AAAAAAAAA the cutest tank in war thunder, I miss you so much. Innded it was one of my favorities, but during studies I can't let myself to play this game, but I like to watch like PhlyDaily and Spokeston are playing. I myself managed to destroy 7 tanks with AML-90 while protecting one point on the map in few minutes. This tank is propably not only the cutest french tank but also the most efective. it is quaranted good fun, when you use its small size, speed and heat shells. this tank is so much memeable, fact where I managed to destroy my tires, well anywhere, any fence or rock can do it. it is so light that any explosion wave will push it.
Me whenever I play War Thunder - Peek around the corner at spawn with my heavy tank and get blasted instantly Phly whenever he plays war thunder - Joy rides through half the map without being spotted in, what is essentially a Willys Jeep with a cannon, as he randomly clicks here and there and kills ten tanks.

I'm gonna try not to simp of Phly's skills but i will. This man deserves an award directly from Gaijin. The amount of knowledge he has about this game is amazing. From ammunition types, to where to shoot a target, right thorough to the historical information etc. etc. etc. This man knows it all, I've been watching phly for years and it still amazes me regarding how he plays. His map knowledge is amazing, his in game skills are unmatched by anyone else, his situational awareness is top notch and his deep understanding of every single mechanic in the game is unreal. He is just so efficient and effective to the point where it would be impossible for him not to enjoy the game. he truly has committed his life to this game which is why he has every right to be toxic lol and deserves an AIDS award🤣🤣🤣. I have a bit of a grudge against that little bugger, along with several other tanks in the game. Sneaky little thing with a good gun. I do wonder how it compares to the Eland 90 though.
Practically the same vehicle, Eland just gets a Browning with limited vertical traverse instead of the French Machinegun and IIRC it loads more 90mm ammo. But that's about it really.
IRL in the 70s/80s, the AML90s were a real cancer for the Libyan T-55s, the turrets of the T-55s simply did not turn fast enough to follow an AML launched at "full speed". In my regiment they called them the 2CV Citroën, but with a big gun.😁
It’s so fun to flank and hide with that and scout enemies for teammates. Then use the 7.0 Spitfire to clear out the skies

The Eland is the same funi but with more ammo. Also the Ratel 90 now a lot of its threats went up can completely dominate at 6.0 with the same gun.

If you are driving an armored jeep with a turret slapped on it and someone drops a bomb on your hood, you are done.

Funny how BMPs side armor eat HEAT without any trouble, even my 120mm HEATFS with 480mm of pen do nothing most of the time.
