This guy loves the sound of his own voice, save yourself 6 minutes.
Settings > Music > Scroll down and turn sound check off.
Why do you think I don’t have music in my settings?
appreciate you
I think there’s a certain amount of minutes you need to post so you can be monetized lol which he’s trying to do 🤣
Thank you
That still didn’t work
Go to settings. Music. Turn sound check off. Saved you five minutes
Thanks. Straight To The Point
Anybody know the android equivalent?
Wow! This has been driving me nuts ever since I bought my new truck. At certain points in a song you want to crank it hard and rock to that guitar riff but it just wasn’t happening. Can’t wait for my next road trip to really enjoy my tunes. Thanks so much!!
As a fellow metal head myself.. this is such a huge help! We need to turned up to 11 lol
You’re a legend in my book. I’m over here with the new 19 speaker 950 watt McIntosh system going insane because my 04 4Runner had better sound lol. Thank you so much for this.
2 years later - and still dumb that you need to do this! Thank you so much!!!!!! I’m on a 2023 Goldwing motorcycle and it was driving me nuts lol. Appreciate it!
Thank you for this! It's been driving me crazy wondering what was making my music so quiet lately or if I was going deaf, but after turning off the Sound Check which I didn't realize was on after getting my new phone, much better! I noticed it just makes my metal songs more quiet which kind of goes against the whole point of that type of music.
Thanks! Fought this issue again just today and now stumbled on your video. Awesome.
"Sound Check" was disabled already. This video is basically only for people who use Apple Music. I use Spotify and Pandora, and to have my music actually "rocking out" loud, my volume ends up on like 68. Having to turn your volume up to 68 is absolutely absurd. You have to turn it way down if you get a phone call, or switch to radio, or you will blow your speakers and eardrums out. I hope they fix this nonsense soon.
I also have Sound Check disabled, and I also have Apple Music but I typically use UA-cam Music in the car. I’m just now realizing it might be the source that’s the issue.
Gonna try a few things tomorrow and see how it turns out.
Cant thank you enough for this! Your an ABSOLITE LEGEND in my book bro
what a difference! I was about to have a amp installed. Also on i phone, if you go to music in settings and then go to EQ and select Late Night this will also increase volume.
Me too!!! Lol
I can stop taking my blood pressure meds now. Thank you so much!
Fantastick. That fixed my wife's carplay integration on her new Mazda. I am so glad I don't have to deal with any of these problems with my Tesla. Zero buttons compared to wife's over 50 buttons. It's incredible how easy a good 15" screen UI is compared to buttons.
It solved the problem immediately, thank you!!!!!
You are both a gentleman and a scholar, thank you very much sir. This has been driving me insane lol!
BRO.... Found this video in a random forum while trying anything and everything to troubleshoot my premium alpine sound system and why the quality suddenly dropped off when streaming and using CarPlay. The stupid ass sound check feature must have been turned on after an iPhone update. I wish I would have found this video so much sooner. I've been to the dealership twice, online countless hours, updated and reset nearly everything on the Jeep and it was just this stupid little setting. Thanks my man!
THANK YOU. I’ve always had sound check off and didn’t think about checking it. iPhone did an update and it must have turned it back on. It’s been driving me nuts. Thanks to you, I’m back to working on going deaf in the Jeep.
Thank you so so so much!!! I’ve been googling for days to find a solution. So glad I found u!
I'm very grateful for this advice. The problem has been driving me nuts.
Omg!, I was gonna replace the whole sound system!!! You are amazing thank you!!!!
Same. Lol
WOW! Thanks I was going crazy trying to figure that out. Especially with the GPS voice. My poor family had to keep quiet in the car so that I could hear the directions, LOL.
With CarPlay, when the assistant is talking, quickly turn the volume up or down. That will change the navigation volume only. You have to be quick as its only when it's talking. ie: "In a 1/4 mile, turn left on 19th street".
That’s awesome! I have an eBay android based radio and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why the sample song that comes preloaded on the radio was louder then my Apple Music. Thanks so much for showing us!
I thought it was just me. Thank you for this.
Ty for sharing your findings on this. Appreciate the details and troubleshooting effort.
Finally!! I got a 2018 Dodge Durango and I was messing with the EQ, didn’t think to turn the sound check off!!!! Thanks
Will turning that feature off make the sound quality better too? When I use CarPlay the music sounds so distorted or slightly muffled
WOW! What a different it makes. I was getting so upset and went down that rabbit hole. Thank you.
I frickin love you, dude !
Thank you for this
Thank you, thank you. I have had this annoying problem for years. You are awesome!
God Bless You! I've been trying to figure this out for years.
You need an award for this video.
You found the hole 😅 This is really helpful. Since one year I was facing this issue. But did or recognize that. Somebody attached the android phone and it was quite loud. I thought my system is buggy.
I would never have found this on my own. Many thanks!
You are a beautiful human being. Thank you
I got a ram 1500 limited I was about to take it to the dealership but I did notice the difference between radio and Apple car play, needless to say I follow your instructions and my system is working like a champ
i listen to metal and suddenly my speakers were super quiet after using the talk/listening feature so i’ll have to give this a shot i hope it works thank you fellow metal brother
Great thanks! Mine doesnt change much but still it makes bit louder though. Better than before. I hoped it would change all volumes louder (youtube music, poscasts etc) but it seems like its just changing what comes from music app. But thanks its better now :)
I was having that issue thanks a lot for the help! 🙌🏼
Thank you brotha u just saved me a whole stereo upgrade.
Thank you very much !!! I really didn't know what is happening with the apple car play on my new Volkswagen tiguan allspace premium elegance 2022.
I knew that something is wrong but now I understand why👌😊
Thanks for the frustration, effort, and time! 👍🏼👍🏼
I had to skip ahead because I didn’t feel like I was going to get to the solution or answer
For real, it’s unnecessarily long.
This is why the dislike button needs to have a count again
Exactly get to the damn point 🙄

So did you get to the solution?
Very helpful tip. Any thoughts on why Android Headend Stereo connected to iPhone 13 Pro only allows callers to barely hear me when speaking? I can hear callers very clearly but they can barely hear me at all. Very frustrating and dangerous when receiving phone calls. All other CarPlay functions work just fine.
Any thoughts you might have on how to repair this problem greatly appreciated.
Does your system have an external microphone?
@@calebsaunders562 Yes the built in one that came built in with the Jeep. I thought the new head end when plugged into internal loom will activate the microphone for Apple CarPlay. I can hear callers clearly but they cannot hear me clearly. It’s like my voice is being filtered somehow?
Great advice!! Do you happen to know why the volume would change when using navigation? For example, sometimes when I’m listening to music (doesn’t matter which song), I can barely hear the spoken directions. Other times it’s fine. I’ve tried adjusting the volume on both the car (which only makes the music louder) and my phone (which does nothing). Would sound check be the possible cause for this as well? It’s been driving me crazy!!
If you’re using an iPhone. You will have a speaker button at the top right of the screen below a button that looks like a road
Click on that and it’ll allows you to adjust for Siri to speak over the music or at the same level
Turn the volume up when you hear the voice for navigation. In my car I have to turn the navigation volume up when it is announcing directions, but if I try turning it up while music is playing it won’t increase the volume for the navigation
THANK YOU! omg i been. trying to figure this out for way too long
Thanks for this great information I was looking all over I find it here
That was great man. Laughed my a$$ off and fixed my issue at the same time!
literally😂😂😂
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS ABOUT TO THROW MY RADIO OUT I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH ON IT 😂
Thank you so much i can’t wait until tomorrow to try it out.
I’ve had this issue since I got my Malibu. Next time I get in the car I’m gonna see if this helped. Thank you!
Genius !! Thanks for sharing this !!
Omg finally! Jesus I’ve been trying to figure this out for months!
I'm having this issue with bkuetooth and I have andriod. Does andriod have anything like this I hope? I had 2 subs/aml installed and only time stereo sounds good is if it is on HD radio station literally. Bkuetooth sounds muffled and trashy. Before I go get all my stock speakers replaced and amp for them and dynomat car and LC7ipro for car spend a ton of money I'd like to know if bkuetooth is still gonna sound like shit. I wish I had an older car so I can just use my cds and replace head unit. Not an option in newer cars. Help please....Andriod.
Oh my goodness I love you. I just bought a new car and the stereo sometimes loud sometimes isn’t I was going absolutely bonkers. I was gonna take my car back to the dealer and feel really stupid and tell him why my radio is so low, but thank you so much. I hope that makes the difference.
Dude, you’re awesome! Thanks.
thankyou so much and god bless you i been looking for this for awhile
So helpful. Thank You!
Does this also work when the spotify volume is lower than the volume from the radio?
I just turned this off in the settings for music, but it doesn’t look like it’s changing the volume for spotify.
Thank you, I didn’t know about this sound check thing 🙌🏾
This was exactly my problem! Fixed it! As one metal head to another, thank you!
You’re a godfam music SAINT ! You go to Heaven for this. Thank you dude. I was losing it.
My 2021 Ford Ranger has this problem . I turned off sound check and guess what ? It did sweet F.A ! Still quiet . Still the same . Any other great ideas ?
I dont see the music tab on my settings can it be under something else
Hey Scott what year is your car? My CarPlay is not available
Thank you for the info. Always wondered why. Now i know.
Thank you so much!
I actually have the opposite issue. My music was way too loud. I would be listing to UA-cam and if I pressed volume up or down, I would get my music to play automatically and at a much higher volume.
This was most definitely helpful. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for this video. It was driving me nutz
Hello, maybe you can help, when my bluetooth is connected to my car the voice guidance on the maps apps don't work, I tried google, apple, waze and mapquest all the apps voice stopped. once I shut off bluetooth all the apps the voice work.
Thanks!! Very helpful
Thank you so much for this. I was going crazy that I couldn’t figure it out. I guess when I updated to IOS 16 it switched it automatically.
Wow. You are a star. I bought a new car-play and the sound it was sometimes ok sometimes bad. I thought it is because of the connectivity..I switched between bluetooth to aux and drive me crazy..I wanted to return the product and to gave a big negative review. Now I sorted the sound quality thankfully
This id what i effin looking for!! Great one!!!! Thank you!
Is this only if you are using Apple music app or it's for Apple car itself generally? The reason I'm asking is because I can't find that music setting on my iPhone?
I can’t find that music setting either
well I have a brand new 23 cs and I have the same issue but mine is with all the audio sources. my volume is low no matter what I do. I can turn the volume all the way up and I can still have a full conversation with the person next to me please help
Did you fix this problem ?
Will this work for my Bluetooth phone call side? I can not turn up the volume on my phone. It grays out when connected and in a phone call. But works just fine listing to music and I can turn it up on my phone. Why?!
Yeah but does this affect Spotify that's played through Carplay as well?
Thank you! This was driving me insane in my durango!
Thank you couldn't find a cure any where else ,you saved my sanity!!!!!!
Guys, just turn off your ringer on your phone and you should be able to adjust your volume instead of it being stuck on guidance volume. That was the solution I was looking for
Great video!!!! Thanks!
Thank you 100% helped out! I knew it was a phone setting.
Thanks man it worked now it sound 10 times better
has this helped with anyone who doesn't use apple music. I only use spotify so wondering if anyone had any thoughts?
I think there’s a similar setting “normalize volume”
I have a 2018 jeep grand cherokee, is it normal that when I use the car navigator, uconnect, the navigation audio only comes out from the driver's side speaker? the music is heard in all the speakers, but the navigator's voice comes out only from the front left speaker ...
How are you liking the car? I just bought a 2018 jeep grand Cherokee
Thank you sooooo sooo much!
I cannot find anywhere on how to lower my GPS directions when connected to Apple CarPlay and listening to my music in my Honda CRV. I can adjust the music great, but my GPS from my phone is too loud and I have tried everything. Can you help?
Thank you for posting the video I actually found a workaround where I reverted back to 15.3.1 on my iOS on my i phone which got rid of the problem I did try your Soundcheck on off but because I’ve blocked all updates on my iOS it’s no longer is an issue and when using the iPhone, sound check function like you did my sound is unaffected. but like yourself it drove me crazy and I found a blog that said Apple had an attenuator function and didn’t let me anyone know, and like a lot of other people I like my music loud ! Rock on ! thank you very much for your post and hopefully turning off sound check will allow me to continue purchasing iPhone because I was gonna go back to android because of this issue so I’m going to try it out on my wife’s phone which has iPhone iOS 16+ and I’m gonna try to see if sound check on/off on her rogue works tonight thanks again!
My big problem volume wise is using maps for navigation when I have music playing (Apple music) at any decent volume, I can barely hear Siri. Her volume is up all the way. Even went to the dealership and they couldn’t really help. Any ideas how to make her louder?
Wait for siri to talk, once she starts talking turn your volume up, it literally only works if she’s talking already and while she’s talking if not you’re going to end up just turning your music volume up. Hope this helps you
Btw I suggest turning your music volume mostly down first so you can tell the difference
Awesome vid. Now I need to figure where my sound check is on my Samsung S9 Plus.
Thumbs up m’man!!
I turn my car off, the Bluetooth kicks the phone off, and I get a BLAST of LOUD music from the FM radio before I open the car door. (Which turns off the infotainment system/radio completely) I know you get what I’m taking about, because I see you drive a Chevy too! Wait…I just checked my phone, and I have “sound check” off, and I still have a huge volume difference between the music that comes from my phone, and the music that comes from the car. Ugg
I appreciate you so much 🙏🏽
Awesome... Super pleased - Thank you!!!! Had been trying to solve this for a few months
thank you!! i was about to pay 100$s for a system. but thank you!' you saved me lots of money
GREAT VIDEO, LIKED!
Thanks It made my 15 inch subwoofer go silent. It kept saying I reached the recommended limits for the bass I have 2 subwoofers professional installed. It reset 30 every days I get 3 days worth of bass then no sound again. I thought it was a shortage in the cords or witing issues.
Omg just thank you may all the gods bless you for posting this🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hello, great video. Seems to have helped many people. Can you tell me if this aplies to an Echo Auto. I have that in my car and the volume is always lower than say my radio or my Serius. It is so annoying! I just checked my setting and my Sound is already off ugh. Anything thoughts? Thanks in advance. You into Maiden?? My favorite!
*****my Sound Check is already off i meant to say....
What about the common problem with hands free calling via Bluetooth with iPhone to car stereo??? My volume is always low with phone calls but soon as I hang up, music from stereo is so loud! This problem is also very annoying too!!! I have checked my sound check and it was already off. Any ideas to solve this one please??? Thanks!
i’m having the same problem, did you ever find a solution?
Good lord!! I was going insane…thank you so much!!!!
