Watching two versions of Sean, a decade apart, fall 100% for the exact same instance of the bug-on-the-screen gag, one right after the other... *chef's kiss*

Day9 getting scared by his own gameplay is the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. I binged the hell out of these Amnesia videos when he did them and I'm so glad he revisited them.
Day[9], a gamer, SC2 pro, mentor, father figure, great storyteller and general great guy that had a outlook on life that taught me so insanely much about how to conduct yourself and challange yourself - better yourself.
He did this to himself at an early age via SC BW and gave the to the world all he learned from the experience.
My favorite funny Day[9] moment was when some SC2 players sent him some games and he played Celine Dion - My heart will go on with perfect timing in the last game.
The dedication, planning and everything this dude did back in the day before he took his hand off the camera - insane.
Day9's laugh already makes me laugh, having a "laugh-echo" is just too much power for one man

How is this 10 years ago. I was subbed for this. I was one of the rope guys, the greatest like...group mind game I have ever seen a chat ever do. It was Amazing. I rewatch this like every other year. HERE WE GO!

Watching this playthrough has been my Halloween tradition for at least 8 years - I always watch it with headphones on and the lights off in honour of Sean - and it always makes me laugh and scream in equal measures. Watching you watch and comment on you has had me in hysterical laughter for a full hour - I am crying, thank you sir. I will be adding this video to my Halloween Tradition XD

Gosh, 10 years already. I remember watching this in my undergrad live, and then watching the youtube videos over and over again. Such a great series but I do think it actually left Sean with some PTSD for the next few years as he screamed Daniel whenever he was stressed or scared.

When I'm having really dismal days I go to that video. It's quite effective.
I needed this video on a deep, spiritual level. The original was the first bit of Day9 content I ever watched.
41:01 ah, yes the moment from the stream, where I screamed at the top of my lungs at around 3 am and had to silently laugh-cry while my neighbours were wondering, if somebody was killed.
What does it for me is the solid 2-3 seconds that he takes to stop moving, shake his screen, scream at the top of his lungs THEN proceed to run to the ladder and climb up. I need to rewatch this series again XD
I love you Sean, I ripped the series from youtube a long time ago to watch it anytime on my phone and currently it has survived 4 different phones

Oh my gosh, 10 years! This was one of the most memorable streams I've ever watched. I couldn't handle scary games either, and I think about Sean's experience any time I try to take on a horror game. Thank you so much for taking this trip down memory lane, Sean.
I still remember watching this. I was living far from home for the first time and taking classes in a school where I didn't fit in and felt pretty isolated. Some serious crap went down that I won't get into here and watching internet videos was pretty much my only escape from what had become a very difficult time. I remember also being pretty afraid of scary games at the time, but I figured if Sean was gonna play Amnesia alone in the dark, then dang it I was gonna watch alone in the dark in solidarity. Really, it was like exposure therapy and it worked really well. I have absolutely no fear of scary games anymore, almost to the point of them being ruined for me. I'm hoping to move far from home again soon, and if things go well for me I'll always be able to look back to a time when they weren't going so well but people like Sean and others kept me going.

This is so beautiful. I was watching the dailies from around the 50th and I remember waking up in the middle of the night the catch the shows and I did the same as a 15 year old for the Amnesia playthrough. I've learned so much from Day9. Not only how to greet my opponents properly on a monday for a submission but also that it's okey to be a nerd who gets rejected by your own Felicity only to laugh about it in the future. Now I'm in my 5th year of uni doing data science inspired by Day9s sick math and I'm still to this date explaining thoughts and theories in Paint.
Thank you for all these years, and all those to come Sean. it's been truely wonderful

I'm mad I'm only just now watching this, but I had to say that this Amnesia playthrough is the reason I have my best friend in my life! We watched this together a decade ago now and we are still inseparable to this day. This is easily still my favourite thing to watch on UA-cam.💚
This was an amazing life watch all those years ago... i still remember all the memes that were created about the world's oil usage being dominated by Day9 during this playthrough.

I remember watching this live with my sister and when the monster gets the door slammed on him in the sewer we collectively screamed with Day9 at like midnight in a full house. It is still to this day, the best playthrough of all time and I make it a ritual to rewatch every 2 years at least. My dream is for Day9 to play the newest Amnesia game that just recently came out and give me more endless hours of entertainment for the future.

I was failing university physics while Sean went through this, so in each our own ways we were terrified. The nostalgia! I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for each new stream.

I normally get second hand embarrassment from watching people watch old videos of themselves but for Day9 I immediately thought "wow, this he's still the same guy 10 years ago." It's been 10 years and he's still the same incredibly funny, incredibly entertaining person.
I don't watch as much now as I used to but every time I drop by, it's always a treat. Thank you Day9 for always giving us a good time.

I loved this highlight reel so much and it's been practically a decade. The man-mode sequence really had a lot going for it, but to add to that, once you do get to the door, a scripted event happens where the grunt(?) following you automatically homes into your position, so regardless of how far into the place he is, he'll come rushing right behind you anyway and makes the getting to the ladder part incredibly tense
I have loved every horrifying moment you put yourself through for our entertainment. It wasn’t a waste, man. Made me smile on rough days many times :)

I remember watching this series and there was one point where you were running away from something and I literally ended up crouching on my chair, laughing but feeling the anxiety you had to my utter core.

At that time, basically every streamer or youtuber played Amnesia, but Day9 was pretty much the only one where those scares were absolutely believable. You're the best, Sean!

Your Amnesia experience, and the community, was a huge highlight of that time for me. By you being so afraid and funny, you made this some of the best content I've ever seen on the internet. I remember I was sick and I took a few hours of my day to compose "Day9 vs Amnesia The Song" on my old YT channel that you retweeted. I was so happy to contribute. Today I'm happy to say that I'm a full time Artist / creator which is a dream come true and it's a LOT thanks to you and the courage you've given me Sean, you've given us a lot over the years. :)
OMG how much i miss those years!! I watched you so much, for hours and played SC2 all the time. Even did a Terran drawing of you on Deviant art that you commented on but only saw it years later.! Ahh it was so much fun. We all gone grey now :D
Watching this retrospective, it never dawned on me that I was participating in Internet history actively in real time with Day9 for much of his early years. I kind of drifted away after Hearthstone and Funday Monday ended, but have recently started to kind of come back. It is really nice to have literally participated in a historical event and I would say Day9 and the personae of positivity he exudes is important to us. I was also there the day Amazon bought twitch and put in the free Twitch Prime subscription and still vividly remember when Day9 excited say his subscribers going exponentially and made the exclamation "ITS THE ARCHIVE!!" Because that is what many of use did, watched his twitch and UA-cam video archive almost religiously.

When your stream first came out on Twitch, I watched it every night. Was the only way to get through a lot of shit when I was growing up on my teens (self-destructive family). I loved watching the Day9 Dailies and your amazing bubbly personality. You got me into SC2, and when this video series came out in 2011...I don't think I had truly laughed in a very very long time.
I just want to say thank you Day9 for giving me the power to move on and become the person I am today, and I will continue to enjoy your content :)
