- Jalapeno cheddar biscuits grace our table at Christmas every year. These cowboy style buttermilk biscuits have a secret ingredient to give them extra rise. They also remind me of the Cheddar Bay biscuits from Red Lobster.

I've seen the lemon lime soda trick used alot for Dutch oven cobblers, breads, cakes, etc.. to help them rise in the rocky mountain area where I'm at due to the high elevation. And it works!

I love it that your a Christian man and don't mind speaking your peace. Good for you, my mother was a fine Christian Cherokee woman from Oklahoma and also a professional cook. I wished I had listened to her closer now, God rest her soul, she would have been 105 on the 10th. Your cooking is a gentle reminder, wished I would have been more attentive when she was trying to show me how to make, gravy, and divinity and peanut brittle and fudge you kill your best friend for, and tons of other candy's and pastries and canning, pickles, jellies, anything you could think of. She worked in pie and candy factories in Coffeyville Kansas. Until the family moved to Pueblo, co. She cooked for older people at the puebli villa tower's. And they would pay to come down and eat unless they knew she was cooking! I really appreciate your style, class and a pinch here and dab there. Reminds me so much of here. Here sour milk crepes and pan fried tacos were to die for. A reason I weighed 300 lbs. She is missed, your channel is the only one I subscribe to. Love to watch you, thanks for the ideas and fond memories. May God bless you and yours at this wonderful time of the season.

For the past 5 years or so we just have ham and beans with cornbread. It has made Christmas day so much more enjoyable by taking the stress and hard work that goes into putting out a big spread of food. It has freed up so much time and energy so we all can come together and just enjoy one another's company. Merry Christmas from north west kansas

Het Cowboy Kent, I learned to put hot sauce on everything back in my Army days so I like jalapeno peppers a lot. However, I found out too late that my darling wife is not a fan of jalapenos at all. I'm gonna keep her because she has put up with me for many decades. Man oh man do those biscuits sure look good. I think I can make a pile of them for myself. It's either that or saddle up the horse and ride on over to your place.

I used this exact recipe, down to exactly precise measurements. Took me two 12" cast iron in the kitchen oven.
They turned out amazing. Even the next day, the biscuits were still good all by them self.

YES!!! FLAUR!!!! My Mama is 99 now and I make biscuits for mine and her supper most nights, but there is only two of us! So, I freeze the ones we don't want before they are cooked. Then for several nights I ain't got to git no flaur all over the kitchin. I am just a mess, ain't no way to fix it, been around too long.
