In my 17 years playing, I have never seen anyone immerse themselves into disc golf and rise to the heights you have in such a short time. I don’t have any advice, but just know we’re all wanting you to become a pro disc golfer, even if you have to take a short break between now and then. Good luck with your path, Anthony. Nothing but respect.

You're inspiring. I'm in the process of increasing my driving distance. In the past month I've gone from 270 to 310. My next goal is 350 and my ultimate goal is 400. As a 55 year old 5'6" man, this is kind of a big ask of my body but I think I can do it. Onward and upward!

Uploading every single day for as long as you did is insanity. Your current upload rate is perfectly acceptable to me as a viewer. If you’re able to tone down the upload quantity and still make things work financially, in order to chase bigger goals, makes perfect sense. You’ve helped pave the way of Disc Golf UA-cam which in itself is a huge accomplishment. You’ve got our support whichever direction you take

You are correct about what you need to do regarding your form in order to throw farther. You need to be crushing A and B tiers if you want to go pro. Warming up and stretching is the most important thing to do before you play or practice. Strength training is overrated. They are right that form/timing is everything. Note*- knowing your discs and how to throw them in the wind is huge a 450 backhand and 375-400 forehand is enough, having more distance is a good thing for sure. Like anything else in life you have to pick a path and put everything into it. Go big or go home. You have done well juggling multiple objectives........sounds like it is time to pick 1 path. If you don't do it now, then when? Good luck

If Emerson Keith can bomb in the 500 club all day, it's probably more skill than raw muscle. On the other hand, I respect the athleticism of guys like Brody and Ezra. As long as the training doesn't become overtraining and lead to extreme fatigue or injury, it probably is worth it in the long run. We all know our dude is terrible about eating right, too (he lets us know when he's hungry).

My compliment is this; I've been watching some of your videos as of late, but this one, this is the one that got me to hit the subscribe button.
It's clearly evident in this video the soul searching you've been doing over this, and the hard questions you've been asking yours. To say it colloquially, am I going to poop or get off the pot? Big ups to you for making the decision you did fully knowing what mountain of work lies ahead of you.
I am especially inspired by your candidness in this video because I've been thinking a lot about a goal I have for next year, and going after it will mean a lot fewer "fun rounds" of disc, and a lot of "boring" repetitive work to improve my game. Disc golf is really really fun, and I crave the social aspect. As such, there is a lot of FOMO associated with pulling back from the fun rounds and going out and practicing. That's a huge mental block. I could choose to view taking the time to put in the work now (instead of throwing with the gang) as boring drudgery, or I can think of it as a show of respect for, and belief in, future self.
It's that very last point that this video has helped me accept that idea and commitment, not with a sigh, but with a smile.
    Good on you sir.
    Good on you.

Hey Bodanza, I have recently been able to throw 500 feet a few times, because I tried a new grip. Using a variation of the pinch grip I added 60 ft to my consistent throws, even when accounting for the inaccuracies of the new grip, because I was not used to it. If you haven't, please try several variations of the pinch grip and see if one works. The grip also somehow seemed to change my form. The variation I use is where you pinch your thumb and your pointer finger while the other fingers are laid out on the disc. Try to find a variation that gives you power and control. Hope this helps, and even if it doesn't, I love your content and thanks for being real.

This video made me subscribe. I have only been seeing your videos for the last 3 weeks but I like the direction you are wanting to go. There are so many channels that have disc golf tutorials, disc reviews, fun content, etc. There are also videos of pros that are talking about things on tour. What I have not seen is someone that is focused on making it to that pro level. I like your videos because you talk about the things you want to do, the goals you have, and what you want to work on. I want to see you do videos of field work where you throw and then talk about what you can do to improve your game (why was that throw bad?, what are you focusing on for this throw?). You do that on the course and it is great to see what your mind is doing through this process. I like the direction you are looking to go.

Excellent news! I started watching your videos because of your journey towards the disc golf goals you set for yourself. So the videos related to that have always been my favorites.
I firmly believe your new focus is a great opportunity, I don't know of anyone else who you could accompany on their journey on UA-cam, and especially with the same production value.
The sound is very good, the editing is great.
I could even imagine that you channel could still work if you get off of the grind to post daily videos, I imagine that's very exhausting to come up with new content ideas constantly - I think it's a straight road to burn-out, actually.
So more videos focused on form improvement and generally an insight on what it takes to become a pro disc golfer is something I very much look forward to!
Excited about the future of this channel and wishing you all the best for all aspects of your life!
    Take care!

What changed? Switched ur bun for a backwards hat. Added your cash at the KC wide open next to the soccer ball on one side of the stamp. And another side you added Massachusetts for the Simon collab in the same spot.
U liar the new drop is live NOW!
You have also started my flame of becoming a pro disc golfer, I started playing around the same time you have, and somehow have a 500ft backhand and am doing everything I possibly can to get better as quick as possible. I am wake up at 04:30 every morning before class, and have a basket and net in my dorm room (somehow I have just enough room, and my roommate is cool with it). I am also struggling with health and injury from playing too much, but I have found the same that tendons and ligaments are very important to keep healthy. So thanks for being the spark to my fire, and thanks for being you. Keep up the good work!

You are spot on about the importance of mobility. In baseball mobility was HYPER important and there are a lot of similar movements between the two sports (backhands are similar to swinging and forehands are similar to throwing). You’re the only other person I’ve ever heard highlight this too. Like you said, everyone is “form form form” which is obviously important but I think mobility is right behind form in terms of importance.

I would consider myself a pretty big distance guy and ik that you have even talked and met with some of the best but from what I could tell your still not really hitting the pocket. When you hit the pocket and go back and look at your form you will 100% know because it will be a perfect 90 degree angle. Also when talking about the other arm I have found that if you just try and throw hard that will just start happening naturally. It is also something that should come last after you have learned everything else in my opinion because it tends to throw you off more than anything. With practice get about 20 divers and start off with really trying to just be clean and minimalistic with your form dont worry tm about the power then after one or two rounds start throwing your whole body into every shot. you should be finishing in a spot where you could lose your balance if you are doing it right. The reason I say this is because when it comes to actually playing now you should be in between both of those extremes.( I started my journey with distance throwing about 320 max and I now throw 500 plus consistently).

I agree with the 80% back hand, 20% forehand focus and and doing the same this offseason. As I’ve vastly improvised my backhand, it’s proved to be much more useful for a variety of shots. Backhand dominates the pro tour. I also feel in general a bad forehand miss isn’t as bad as a bad backhand miss a lot of the time

400ft on hyzer with no flip up is more important than 500ft on an s-line. 500ft s-line golf shots will come easy and naturally with different disc selections and angle choices once you can throw 400ft on all hyzer with a stable disc.

Let's all take a moment to realize how privileged we are in this world to have the luxury to worry about such things as disc golf.

I subscribe to a few channels, not many. But watching this particular post of yours made me want to follow along for awhile and see if you reach your goals. Personally, I think you are rather mercurial, and your goals today are unlikely to be the same after the fall and winter. But I'm definitely rooting for you, and I hope my subscribing is a small bit of reinforcement and encouragement.

i'm trying to get to 500' as well before i jump up to MPO; i think it's a good goal because a lot of the pro tour courses need 425-450 placement shots; so an 80-85% throw you need that 500 max distance to do that consistenty. Good luck brotha!

We are all pulling for you, and you provide a lot of his content. My only critiques would be to slow down a little bit. Your mind seems to be reaching all of the time from the specific shoot your doing to the meaning of life. Just relax and enjoy yourself. We all want to have fun with you.

Our guy cashes and then quits the tour stuff; hey, road life is tough, no judgements. Now he's doing UA-cam too much and is unhappy with not pursuing the disc golf dream; which makes sense from another perspective.
It feels like the grass is always going to be greener until he figures out what he really wants for him and not us. Maybe this is that moment. He does seem to prove his doubters wrong despite being so new to the scene.
I figure we'll be here to support our dude with whatever he attempts. I mean, who wouldn't want to see lead-card Bodanza, Lizotte, McBeth, Robinson one day? Or take your pick of players. It's entertainment for us. It's his life.

    Dude!
I know where you're coming from. I get into intense projects and forget to take breaks. It took me a long time to realize that taking breaks made me better.
It clicked a few years ago after drawing everyday for seven years straight. I wound up with some bad habits. I took a break and came back refreshed.
I was running at the time, too, and I read an article about ultra marathoners who worked insanely hard for short bursts and then just took a break and went off to do nothing for a month or longer. They came back stronger and faster.
Enjoy yourself and come back stronger!

been so inspiring to follow along Anthony. You're such a decent guy and I hope I really hope you'll get to your goal. I am quite happy you're slowing the content down a bit... It's a bit of a work to follow along. Jokes aside. Keep it up. Do the videos a bit shorter. Maybe a bit from the field work, I know you're filming them anyways so throw up a couple, talk us through the session and what you're thinking.

I've enjoyed watching your progress. I've been playing since '92. Yeah, I'm old, I know. But still, best thing that gave me a distance boost when I was your age was the speed of my release (spin and whip of the arm). Think of it like bat-speed in baseball. I was 6ft, 220 pounds, former football player, bench pressing 375 pounds, but watching guys MUCH smaller and weaker than me throwing 450-500 feet. Same with baseball. You'll see smaller players blasting great shots because their bat-speed is superior. So, work on the speed of your release (both the turn of your waist AND the pull/whip of your arm/wrist). It'll come.

Man with regards to mobility, check out Kelly Starrett. He is a PhD physiotherapist, lifter, and movement coach. And he has written a great book on functional mobility, but more accessibly, he's made literally hundreds of UA-cam videos and interviews talking about and demonstrating ways to improve functional mobility.
