- Barkhad Abdi stopped by KTLA to talk about his new film "The Pirates of Somalia" Opening in select theaters and on VOD platforms nationwide on December 8, 2017
He deserves much more recognition
He looks very grateful, happy, humble, and genuine, the character lacks in 95% of humanity.
LOL i just finished the movie
He's such a normal, humble guy, love Barkhad and hope to see him more!
Man...he looks so good. He fixed his smile, he holds his head high, fancy watch..... Dude I LOVE that he's raking it in and making other people happy with his art.
He seems like a smart guy.
Very smart indeed
Also very nice person
And why wouldn't he be?
@@MisterTwiin pls dont turn this into a race issue
@@ltagames01 no one did you SJW...He clearly meant because he was a ruthless pirate in the movie....Stay on reddit pal.
"Shutup Irish."
"everything gonna be ok."
Always smile... i like him.. 😊
Such an amazing human!!! 💙
why none of the news host saw the movie? Super rude...he kept on mentioning, what you ask is in the movie...these guys don't respect the guest as much as I thought they should have. This Abdi guy is pretty humble and wonderful to say the least.
I am the Captain now.
Cargo ship captains get hijacked will be like: "Ok boomer.." LOL
I hope he never changes!
Always Happy 🇸🇴🌺
I like this guy!!!
Always a smile. Cool dude!
He's such a good actor ❤

He made his teeth
He probably came from nothing!!! Barkhad
He actually did he used to live in Somalia with its warlords which is basically a warzone
Yes, correct , he did come from nothing in Somalia
If Ronaldinho and usain bolt had a baby
😭😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
pause that soooooo accurate ssooool right
😂😂😂
3:32 to 3:40 the second guy from the right's reaction lmao. He seemed uncomfortable.
They acted so akward. I know they feel akward but they trying to be nice friendly and proffisinal. Only because of his looks
Wth u talking about?
@Hell Fire u are the dumb one because u spelling it the same way you dumbas 😂 wahahahahahahahahahahahahaha funny guy
@@bigman4407 those interviewers acting akward because of his looks...
Barkhad Abdi: Probably the biggest one hit wonder actor you'll ever see. But man, was that one hit good.
he was in blade runner 2049 lol
He had a small role in Good Time (2017) but he was great
One hit? you sure. He was in plenty of movies like eye in the sky, blade runner and he's currently on a stephen king series on hulu called castle rock.
@@majestyk8654 well i love him but let's be honest, with a face and accent like that he can only be cast as limited typecast, roles.
Elizabeth Chwakanowski he hasn’t been type casted. He played variety of roles including a hero
Why doesn’t he put on some weight? Successful guy like him clearly has access to food.
After undereating for a long time the appetite stays low
Living in Maine I know all kinds of somalis and it's really just their bone structure. I would eat lunch with them and they would have all kinds of food but they just stay forever thin. It's funny but somalis have such distinct facial and physical features that you can always tell them apart from everyone else in Africa.
Ronaldinho Gaucho?
Lol 🤣🤣
Pay attentions at ua-cam.com/video/93tgzqWjFOA/v-deo.html , The news anchor reaches over the other news anchor with a gesture of: Ask Him!
Well Spotted..
Those fake Lough's from Americans
He was underpaid. That’s so unfair
No, he wasn't. $65K for a few months work is more than what most people earn all year. All the other actors are grossly overpaid getting millions of dollars to play make-believe.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia really? But have you taken into account the 55 million dollar budget the film had to play with? 65k of 55 mil. Thats less than a tenth of a percent. Ok yes this was a breakout film. But lets be serious 2013, 65k, its actually not a lot of money. Its almost half of what I and most of my family makes per year. Still it never seems like enough. Especially living here in the states.
@@melindachirurgi1017 What you're failing to consider is the residual effect. He was plucked from obscurity with no formal training or industry recognition. He acquired his SAG card overnight for free. For months, he was fed, given accommodation, transportation, trained, and had the opportunity to be in a high-profile film with one of the hottest directors in the industry and one of the biggest actors in the history of Hollywood. This is rarer than a unicorn in the film industry. The residual is that being paid to have this unbelievable once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will no doubt open doors for far more lucrative opportunities. It has, more than tenfold, including a multitude of awards, and the prestigious BAFTA award.
A "nobody" getting paid $65 grand to work for Paul Greengrass and with Tom Hanks in a blockbuster movie with a worldwide theatrical release? Most would do it for free for that foot in the door.
What a FAKE laugh from these hosts. Atleast pretend to be real loll
What a load of rubbish. These are people defending their shores from illegal fishing from foreign trawlers. They are not 'Pirates'.
Sam Hussein lol that explains why they highjack seniors on a sail boat not fishing at all. Oh how about cargo ships with water and food to be delivered to starving communities? Haha crazy right?
Candlish you should know the whole story before opening your mouth, or shut up your mouth and mind your business
@@AM-lg8yn your just defending yourself if not tell the whole story then
He should do horror. He's already scary looking without makeup.
You are stupid
i know it's just a movie n stuff
but i still hate him
but why man? if anything you should pitty him...
thats how great of a actor he is
true hes a very good actor everytime he acts (as a antagonist) i always "hated" him a bit because hes such a good actor. His acting is very natural it looks real!
Veno Music well, we don’t care
