A few notes: 2:32: That WAR ability seems to be an upgrade to Inner Chaos. 4:35: It's an upgrade to Nebula, GNB's 30% mit. Also, the current GNB burst window has room for an entire 3-GCD standard combo, so the new Renzokuken fits right in no problem. 8:20: The new DRG 5th combo skill that lacks positionals is not the Nidhogg one, but the following one. You can follow the rotation and see it being used more than once at that spot. 9:50: On NIN, the new Huton is most likely simply an AoE Suiton: a skill that grants you the "Hidden" state, allowing you to use Trick Attack. The reason why it works that way is that the new skill that follows it (after Bunshin) is almost certainly a Trick Attack AoE upgrade, which would justify needing a better Suiton for AoE situations. The poison breath is an upgraded Mug (puts a debuff and grants you 40 Ninki). I also think the new attack at the end is simply a button that replaces TCJ when used, you don't get any ninki when using it. 20:44: They very likely mean an action that grants the standard buff without having to go through Standard Step rather than a change to the skill. It would be an interesting utility skill that can allow for certain optimizations such as being able to partner swap more effectively if needed. Could be wrong, though. 26:17: Likely to be an Embolden follow up.
For DRG, they 100% said drakesbane doesn't have a positional requirement and it is the final hit in the combo (replacing wheeling/claw). It's literally in the slide.
Great video! I love that you did your note taking on the changes beforehand and were able to talk through the clips themselves with more context than most people who just rushed to get the videos up raw reacting with no context whatsoever!
Pretty sure the nidhogg is the follow up to dragon fire dive, the new 5th combo is drakesbane you can see it at 8:20 & 9:15 just before raiden trust. And what i call ''Heavens Dive'' is the follow up to star diver. You seem to enter life just by doing geirkogul but i would assume if they have not removed mirage dive, is that mirage dive is the trigger to be able to use geirkogul or something like that. I find it wierd that we now only have scales as a job gauge. r.i.p spineshatter dive.
Its pretty much the exact same the only real change is being able to up into LotD immediately at the beginning of the fight instead of having to delay it.
relatable going through the list of "jobs i'm going to try".. list keeps growing haha picto & viper look dope + i been a Bard-only so... and also wanna learn NInja... etc
I do plan on it once dawntrail comes out and I level each job. Will make videos for each job when they hit 100. Dragoon and ninja will probably be some of the first ones I level and talk about
i could be wrong, but i think they mentioned that the red gems in the gauge for Viper allow you to do the ranged gcd combo it has. Also for DNC it looks like maybe the no-step version of Standard Step could be for pre-pulls so you have buff up for full open(?) and switching partners on the fly due to a death while maintaining buff with Standard on cd. I'm fairly casual though so grain of salt with that
On Gbn in my 2 min I use gnashing fang combo double down blootfeast and 3x burst strike/ continuum so replacing the 3 burst strikes is fine with me. I also want to add that Drakesbane is a ogcd and the attack after is the none positional gcd
honestly something that bothers me is the gap closers dealing no damage and getting some dashes, on DRG removing buttons that make you jump is... not good for the class fantasy, id like dragoon to jump. and rough divide had two charges, so you could keep one for utility and pop the other for damage on cd without issue. these are skills on jobs that have a really long base GCD so having as many ocds as possible make you feel active and makes the combat more fun, removing ocds just increases the uptime of time that im just watching a 2.5sec button fill up. Life of the dragon being 20 seconds also means one less Nastrond to use during its short cooldown phase. Also not a fan of summoning magic dragon stuff instead of attacking with the lance.
i think they changed gap closers for jobs that are super busy during burst to lessen the load drk and gnb got the same treatment and those jobs are super button mashy during burst
@@SapphireDragon357 thanks for reply, I mentioned in question the "now" after launch of Dawntrail. Very satisfying change becouse Bard is my first job and it makes easier to rotate songs.
Idk how I feel about the poison breath looking skill for nin; I wouldn't mind at all if we got back some form of the removed shadow fang animation if this skill ended up a dot like you were saying, or even the old dancing edge animation. Also syncing down to 50 cap was annoying since the only way to maintain huton at that point is using the ninjutsu so hopefully that's a welcome change
I think this one is pretty tasteful tho, wouldn't bother me if he did it from time to time. (Just don't do the xeno, who has like 3 faces, which take up half of the thumbnail, that he plasters on every single video...)
Monk job identity is "jank". We need janky shit, we need weird timers that don't make sense. We need 14 positionals in 10 GCDs(i still do them out of nostalgia, bootshine only in the rear amirite), we need to buff a shitload of skillspeed to fit one more gcd under buffs, we need to press RoW on last 3/4th of GCD to get one extra autoattack. We need to strain our brains to navigate through the entropy of a rotation. We need to count seconds in the back of our head and plan every burst 10 GCD's ahead. We need to learn 5 openers, various bursts and reentrys, we want to count potency losses on the fly from cliping dots and buffs. We need to lock game FPS to 60 to fit stuff under RoF. We need to do cursed 5X Dragon Kick into SSS fillers. We need do reject BD and become Optimal Drift itself. We need our double solars, our early lunars, we need our 3 PB bursts...Jank is the way. Streamlining is THE enemy. Casual hands not touching this job WAS the main appeal, THE identity. It was a safe haven from summoner, samurai and reaper mindnumbing simplicity. Monk just lost ALL job identity by becoming an even more rigid gunbreaker with building and spending "cartridges". Sure in 100% uptime on the striking dummy it will feel mostly the same but it doesnt matter IN THE SLIGHTEST.
I think they are trying to reduce the bad feeling of holding all damage for raid buff windows. I know i hated saving cards for burst windows instead of using them organically. Several jobs will now be able to burst outside raid buff windows while still holding resources for raid buff windows
if that is drakesbane, then it is 5 in the combo chain, and if it replaces the 5th combo skill then it would be a gcd as it is a part of the combo chain.
Idk. about the overcap change, doesn't that make the burst window a triple enshroud/triple melee combo//triple hypercharge meta? I am not a fan of the changes in general, they said they're making the game less tress free and then continue making changes that make the game even more homogenized and easy? The ultimates are still enjoyable and each one is more difficult but the job design is really lacking tbh.
as of now you can barely squeeze in two uses under buffs, the third wont fit and you'll be free to use it wherever else. all the mitigation buffs make me think the fights will have more important mit/healing checks, so we'll see about the fight difficulty. jobs do seem to be getting more simplified, but we'll see how it all plays out
I dont like positionals or rpr clunky gcd debuff upkeep deaths desigh either lol. Why does it Interrupt the flow of my rotation, why is it a gcd, why have two Individual versions of it that do the same thing? If it was an ability that did single target that later upgraded to splash damage, full 60s duration, it be so much smoother I sucked at monk upkeep tbh but i will miss applying twin snakes dmg buff and demolish dot tho. Always felt satisfying when i'd remember to refresh them before their timers ran out 15:48 red diamonds use viper ranged attack

Your positive outlook amid all the skeptics and complainers is nice. Love your channel man.
Most underrated FFXIV UA-camr.
This was a great listen, within that process
I was FREAKING OUT watching this live!
This was my first live job action trailer and they delivered so much!

dude you rock

@@99_Vit to be fair. The translator wasn't on her A game this letter. Which is rare, she's usually always on point.

Am I right rhat now for singing as Bard I don't need to have target on enemies?
you definitely need a target as of now

Poison breath thingy gave 40 ninki, so it's probably just an upgraded aoe Mug.
Great video as always!
EDIT: btw, I think the thinking head in video thumbnail is unnecessary, it's such a dumb trend tbh :D.

the 5th blade skill from PLD most likely is a jebait because in truth it's an oGCD you can see the blue swirl denoting it as one
