- In this video I go over the replacement of my 6 year old Harbor freight winch. I have used it hard over the years and it held up great! Now its time for the new one! Very simple and works great! #sawmill #circlesawmill #sawmillbusiness
Thanks for the video and good idea. We bought the same hoist and put it up today after building and installing a 30' long 6"X8" oak beam to support it. All of us are geezers, three of us put it up. The youngest man is 63 or 64. That hoist is HEAVY!. We tried it today but my chain was too long, so I'll shorten and try in a day or two. I'll do a video of the build/install once we get it rolling logs!
Wayno😁
Thats awesome to hear! You will love it!
I'm doing this!!! Great idea!!!
Nice. I've watched people struggle to roll logs and wondered why nobody was doing it like this.
Simple, cheap and effective. Good job!
Dave
hi there nice job , a lot people that watch both of us want me to get one of those , , your rafters look a lot beefer than my trusses , good show , john
Thanks! You would love to have one. I have seen a few set a heavy steel pole behind the carriage, then build a boom that hangs over so you can hang your winch.
@@wallacefarmandsawmill hi i have 2 log turners just need to hook at least one up , john
Cool
I’ve watched and searched you tube for circle saw videos and it wasn’t until Tim made a video of your mill that I came to find your channel. The first video I saw you use that winch and I went out and bought two winches while they were on sale. Once we have a roof over the I feed side of our mill I’ll have something to turn the big ones. Thanks very much.
Your welcome! You will love the winch! Takes all the work out of it.
Excellent! I need a similar setup for moving slabs. I cut from a wheelchair so handling the slabs is tough.
Anything to make it easier is a smart move in my book!
Work smart not hard. Never seen this done great idea. Glad the bad storms missed you.
Yes, thanks!
Thanks for the idea, will be using this for my setup. solves a lot of problems. Thank you again!
Very welcome!
Looks heavenly.
Works heavenly!
Hey man I put mine on a barn door trax and I roll my logs with mine, and load my logs also and roll them down the mill, works great, been using same set up for 7 years . Just a thought to help you! Ole fart from Alabama!
Hey buddy how are ya? I love how you have things set up. Multiple sawmills, your able to sell lumber and saw for folks. You are blessed!
I use a winch to roll logs on my mill to. I use the winch to roll logs up on the mill or my quad or Jeep just depend on the size and weight. Love you channel thanks for sharing God bless you and your family.
Thanks for coming along and watching all we do!
Looks good
That's a great idea
I just found your channel. I have enjoyed watching your previous videos
Nice 👍🇺🇸🇩🇰
Tyler excellent 👍
Thanks buddy!
Sweet I need to rig something up like that in my mill got some big hardwood to saw
You will love it man!
Pretty smart
Awesome! I was wondering if my 2x8 truss would support a winch, now I ll give it a try
Go for it! Just rolling not lifting!
lock tight on screw.... when i was a kid i used moms old nail polish.
Thanks for sharing, now you have some spare parts.
You bet! Thanks for watching!
Your wife doing the wrecking ball did catch my attention as you would suspect... I am a subscriber and enjoy your videos... this is going to make it safer for your wife running this or any mill
It sure makes it easier!
Right on, save that back bud. ✌
That's the plan!
Top D+++++++++++++
Where do you get the hooks that you turn the log with.
Did it come with the mounting brackets?
Yes
If I get this right, that hoist will lift 2,000 pounds. We sometimes fight with 26-34" logs that are 17 foot long and weigh more than 2,000 pounds. Can you overload this a bit for short periods of time? Thanks
Wayne
Never had an issue! Will rotate anything you put up there!
@@wallacefarmandsawmill awesome. Thanks. We're going to try one. The geezers are struggling with some of the larger sticks. Stay safe.
Wayne
What size is the hoist that you are using?
2000lb Harbor Freight electric hoist!
Should work just fine. A lot easier on your back.
Absolutely!
