I like my Woodmizer clamps but, that's the best clamp mod I've seen in a while. I use a farm jack to turn the big ones but, that is a good one too.

And nice idea on the log hold down.
A couple of things in return. Put a second log (in your case lock down) on the other end to keep the log much more steady.
Inside the gantry, on the wheels to keep sawdust off the rubber on said wheels, put 2 small brushed weld 2 (per brush) pcs. Of metal at 90° w/2 holes drilled to put the brush on the the gantry.
To keep your water or diesel dripping on your saw blade better, use a sparkplug boot... Enjoy your weekend.

I'd be interested in more information on your log clamp. Looks like an 11" swivel pad C-clamp locking pliers (as in the HF description). Thanks Nate!

Sorry for the late response! I use 8" c- clamp vise grips from harbor freight too, I just cut one side off and welded it to the post. Thanks for the interest!

Nathan do a video on your cant hook. Or just tell me. I haven't been able to use my log mill, same problem back issues. An I hate not using it.

How much are you charging for your invention? I am getting the mill myself and this would be great to have.

Sorry for the late response! Haven't tried it with an impact though the drill works great especially having dual range to increase tq. Or speed! Thanks for the interest

Sorry for the late response! The turner has rotated 1500lbs red oaks logs much easier than a cant hook!

Is that a landing gear for a trailer that you’ve fashioned a can’t hook onto?
