1st method "WORKED" after 2 years and shops! Thank you very, very much!
After hundreds put into part replacements I Just want to say I used the 2nd method
And it cleared my check enengine light on my 03 navigator , I drove from Denver to Salt lake city and no check engine light came on I was able to use this truck as a trade in. So thanks for the tip.
This worked for me. Thanks for the tip. My gas cap was the issue, I guess I didn’t tighten it enough after fuelling. The check engine light was still showing so I tried your tip and it worked well. 👊🏼
After watching other videos on the same topic, your video is the best. You get right to the point explaining everything in detail. In addition, your voice is clear and don’t speak too fast. Again thanks for sharing young man....

You are a pretty helpful guy. Thanks, Keep on Going !
thank you, very clear to the point, the options were technically explained. thank you
Fantastic video!!! Saved me a trip to the rude dealership. Also ordered the reader!
Awesome and thanks for sharing! Disconnecting the negative terminal on my 2008 Honda CR-V solved the problem.
Tried the first step and it worked. Couldn't believe it. Thank you.
Fantastic advice, cleared my check engine light no problem, thank you for your help.
Thank you so much. I have been paying someone to reset this thing almost every now and then. I will figure this out.
thanks! turning on the lights and waiting 60 seconds helped. another video recommended 10 seconds, which didn't work in my case.
Thanks for the Video man, just what I was looking for. Keep up the awesome work :)

2nd method reset the check engine light for me. Thank u Sir!
Awesome this is by far the best when you have to do it yourself thank you Utube.
Very good and helpful instructions. Thank you
I'm a pro, dude but that was very well done. You didn't mislead anyone. Thanks for that.
you're a pro?REALLY?
A pro what ? Check engine code fixer ?
Thanks dude. I have 2014 F350 and 3 times the check engine has come on and the dealer found no issues but as long as the check engine light is on it disables my remote start which is a B in the winter. Now I can clear the stoopid codes.
Thank you for your direct, to the point presentation and the fact that disconnecting the battery will delete all my saved radio station settings.
I tried your 3rd option and it worked!!! I have tried other ways before, that didn't work. THANKS FOR THE GOOD INFORMATION!!!!
First class. Something informative and straightforward. Cheers.
Ever since the invention of the heck engine light, we've done the disconnect battery reset. It worked almost every time on every vehicle, however, it doesn't fix sensors if they are bad, just resets the light...if the light is because of a bad sensor the light will come back on. Back in the old days you could get away with the reset if you needed an emissions test. (Light on fails immediately) but newer vehicles (and tests) can tell when scanned that your computer has been flashed (reset) its best just to get it scanned and fix the problem.
i am automechanic from philippines,i learn add to my knowlege at 3 ways step check engine, thank you so much,,watching philippines,
Thx a lot for the video. I done #1 and it worked. Perfect video. I wish you many blessings.....
That was real clear & very helpful. Thank you
Great video. I actually have an OBD2 and the paid version of the Torque App. Mainly for a previous car I had as someone mentioned you could see accurate gas readings. However I also used it to reset the check engine light a couple of times which I believe was because of the gas cap.
HomeAutomationX hi
Keep moving, she don't want any of ...whatever it is your selling, woman is waaaaaay out of your league.
HomeAutomationX Love yo
HomeAutomationX show me your clothing
Thanks for the video sir, the first option that you showed helped turn off the check engine light on my car.
Thank you for your simple and very informative video... Wishing you every success and God Bless you 👍 🏆
Dad’s favourite piece of music ❤️
Thank you so much for this! I can't wait to try these methods on my car. I have one faulty sensor that is making my whole dashboard be lit up like a Christmas tree 😂
Thank you for sharing the DIY tips and high quality education video
Thanks for the info. Going to get the code device now.
Great little device! Thanks for all the helpful info - and, truly, all your helpful videos. I subscribed a loooong time ago due to your generosity with your time, information, and making such helpful videos to help others!
Your videos are awesome. Easy to follow, clear, concise and so informative. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
hey bro and your video was the most detailed was the best all I seen today I've been looking at some stuff and you know some guys going to way too much detail I get five minutes of commentary before they even get to the product you got do it right away well done, do it
I did the first option.. N it's good now thanks. You saved me 150 $
Most common failures are loose connections or bad sensors in engine bay . Also checked wire harnesses for opens and corrosion. Last thing is your gas caps make sure it's tight
Wow you're a mechanic too 👍🏻👍🏻
I liked this because I believe you're being sarcastic.
Mechanic? LOL. No professional mechanic would make a video like this. Just another grifter...
Thank you for this informative video Shane
Thanks mate. It's worked for my car I wanted take my car for mechanics, you saved my money
Short and to the point. Well done.
Hi,
You mentioned the gas cap could be loose, but, if you've got a gas cap issue and it's good and tight, check the gas cap O ring. On an older car you may find a slight crack in the O ring. This is enough to keep the gas cap from properly sealing which causes the Check Engine light to come on. This happened to my girlfriends car. The Toyota dealer didn't have an O ring in stock, so I bought a new gas cap and the problem was solved.
Regards, Tom
i hope you still have this account but did it clear right away or did you have to go through the cars drive cycle
As someone who doesn’t know about cars, the device seems useful. Thank you.
Nice tool, I have an older style code reader. I like this one.
Some FYI.. Check engine light is designed to indicate a problem within the vehicles engine/tranny electrical systems. The way to erase the light by normal standards, is to check for the error code, fix or replace whatever electrical component is bad. Of course, and a general rule of thumb, is to disconnect the battery when ANY electrical repair is going to be done. By doing this, the check engine light goes out bcuz computer will sense the repair And, the code which would otherwise by All means stay on the computers memory will also be erased. Of course all codes are erased by this process, but good codes that the computer uses to monitor engines electrical system will return after some driving. Reason I take the time to post this info, is bcuz many believe that erasing the check-engine light will fool the inspector when the time for vehicles inspection is due. It is EASY to erase the check-Engine light, but the error code (if any) remains in memory and DMV's inspection computer will get it from the vehicles computer. If that happens, your vehicle will be FAILED. Free is a nice word... Proper, is a better one.
good advice, but more FYI the MIL is there only for emission related issues, nothing else
brother your video so muche helleping me thank you so much
Nice. Thanks for the vid. I'm in Tampa also. Following.
Disconnecting the battery negative terminal and waiting for 60sec and pressing the horn and turning on the light's is excellent idea, I did it on my Chevy sonic? And it worked thank you
ThAnk for the info very helpful
I use telekinesis . Works every time !
Thanks for the video, I tried 3 methods without the scanner with no success. I bought the Ozito scanner from the local harware store for $50 and it cleared the errors with no problem.
pretty helpful, i have an 08 gmc serria with this problem, ill give it a try.
If you're doing this trying to pass a state inspection, know that while the check engine light doesn't illuminate any more, the "MONITOR NOT READY" (a test to see if the EGR or whatever actually works) will continue. You have to drive the car a significant distance to allow the system to actually check if everything is kosher. To speed the process of getting the monitor not ready codes to go away, google for "drive cycle" for your specific model of car to tell you what to do to activate the tests as soon as possible.
That is exactly what happened to me when I used the OBD2 land torque to reset an error code for a leaking gas cap. When I returned to have the vehicle re-inspected the inspector told me that the system was showing as not ready. I am still looking for resources on how to do the drive cycle thing to get rid of the not ready status. This is a 2013 Ford Explorer.
Yes! Thank you Lord for leading me to this video. Prayed and then I did step ONE and it worked. Have a old car that the hood doesn't stay up, so had to hold it up with my head while I disconnected the cable. LOL
The "lord" and praying had nothing to do with it...
@@dannyspitzer1267 shut the hell up man. Let people live their lives.
Are you in for a BIG surprise!
great video perfect for DIY guys who likes fixing their own car.
Thanks so much appreciate it Deb 👍
this is more of a sales video than a problem solved has he's fixed the problem he made in the first place!
Great video as usual. So will this tell me what to fix on a " service air bag " indication?
billfromelma it only gives a general idea not exactly the bad part.
Ok thanks!
billfromelma most air bag light problems are dirt and crap in your sliding seat runners dust food etc it thinks the driving seat is not locked in place and will put on the air bag light this is common from mums with kids in cars I find its mostly kids wax crayons that wax up the runner's its not a cheap fix in the garages as most seats have to come out to clean them runners at 60 pounds a hours labour mums beware
Great video, my friend.
I had a P0440 code pop up right after a fuel stop. I removed and tightened the fuel cap but the check engine light remained.
I followed your steps and remove the negative cable from the battery, waited 30 seconds while I turned on the lights to discharge any remaining energy... And sure enough as soon as I reconnected the negative cable to the battery, the check engine light was cleared.
Thank you. 💯
Ye but has the light come back on
Aloha from Puna Hawaii,
Mahalo for the great information. Gonna give it a shot "Happy Everything "!!!☮️🕶️🤙😎
Best video ever
Thanks for the over compliment!
Thanks brother, you have a new sub, my friend.
Thank you brother ❤️you save my money it worked negative terminal remove method again thanks alot(suzuki spacia )
Very helpful information thank you mate
In my 2008 honda accord, when i unplug the connection to clean the maf sensor, check engine light comes on and wont turn off even when i already connect them.
So what i do is same with first step. Disconnect the battery. Wait 30 minutes. And after connect the battery again, done.
Well, there's nothing wrong from the sensor in the first place, i just happened to get bored so why not to do some easy works.
My check engine always comes on, I checked the engine, it's still there.
GSXR RIDER 😆 good one 👍
GSXR RIDER Check your blinker fluid that might be the problem then
No, sounds like bad muffler bearings.
Get a code tester like a Actron CP9690. It has live, graphing, record, oil light reset, smog test readiness test, and MORE! It works from 1983-2013.
g
Appreciate your advice bro....
I like the first method. It is very easy and it works...
awesome
Another preferred option: a lot of shops offer free OBD2 testing. My trusted shop has done this for me a few times. They know I only go there.
mc3lizard good tip
Rev fc bince
waterpump
Can confirm this worked for my '10 hyundai accent. Thanks.
You car engine sounds amazing!!!
the best free way is to remove the EFI fuse in the fuse box for a few seconds. this resets the car's computer without resetting the clock, radio etc. I have done this numerous times and it clears the check engine light on my OBD1 1989 Toyota Pickup
Shane Waldo I have a 04 Mercury Mariner.think it would clear the engine code?
James Anastasia it should
Well, it depends on if the cause of the check engine light was fixed (e.g. bad o2 sensor etc.). If the cause was fixed, it shouldn't come back on.
Depends on the code, could come back instantly
I do this as well. Although the light comes back on in a few days. Mine I refer to phantom light-2001 Dodge Intrepid ES. Time for yearly NC inspection. Hopefully this trick will work again. Car is maybe worth 375.00 so don't want to pit anymore money in it. Same code P0441 has been a thorn for years. Last year ended up buying a new factory gas cap. Car runs great.. just a pain once again.
I thought u were a DJ because of ur profile picture so I would always scroll right passed it.
yeah the headphones makes sense but i included it because it is my favorite product i reviewed so far, built like a tank- amzn.to/2oB6CH1
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
1st option worked for me! Cheers!
I've been an automotive technician for over 40 years, and you never clear a check engine light. The monitors are all run, and clearing the light clears the monitors. Causing you to fail emissions until they all relearn. Could take several days or even weeks. The proper way to clear light is to find the cause of the issue and the light will go out on its own. Usually in 1 day of normal driving.
Second comment because the first had a link in it.
If you own any Chrysler vehicle since 1988 you can cycle the key. Cycle the key without going as far as the start 3 times. On-off on-off on-off then on then leave it on but not started. Wait for a few seconds. The flashing light is your fault codes. flash flash pause flash flash flash flash is code 24. Or Flash pause Flash Flash is code 12 which is battery was disconnected. All cars should have this. It will just keep cycling through your codes until you turn it off.

Really helpful information!!!!!
Man !! You save my life and my money ..... thank you bigggggggg
thank you!!! mine has been on for a year eeek! will have to see if I can get one of those in Australia (and where that plug is in my car???) or could you pop over and have a look for me?? 😍
Danielle Wilson sure but plugin is just under your steering wheel.
Oh look at that just had to remove the cover of that thing I always wondered about and hey even found the steering wheel column adjustment too!! Well I noticed you can fix Chromecast also and mine is being a little bi**h so you don't get off that easy haha
Well she is pretty hot and add that Aussie accent, and... well you get it.
Tampatec i think your check Danielle light is on
did the first technique, it worked and took literally 1 minute
John Laps cool
Cowboys blow steer balls.
Thanks! Now I know where to but the OBD so I can fix the problem and shut off the light. I have taken it to the shop 3 times for various issues but the car always come back with the code still on. Its either time to fix it my self or find a different mechanic.
Thank you for this vid it is the one that worked for me compared to the others.
We know this doesn’t fix the problem shut up some of us just wanna pass emissions 😒
Ny_beauty literallyyyy
No emissions in NY girl. You in cali now or somethin?
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅shut up!! 😅😅😅😅
Period pooh 🗣
Some of us just want to sell the damn thing. 😁
always scan your car before doing any of those steps, due to many different reason for setting a “check engine light” you want to have that info, do a little research to make an inform decision if you need to take it into a mechanic because there is vital information that helps in diagnostics
Thank you for the video👍
Bro
I wish I could slide my 2008 Explorer and let you take a peek.
Complete armature learning everything by you
Disconnecting the battery only resets it for 500 km. If your check engine light is on it's on for a reason...it's usually a sensor in the emissions or fuel circuits...
George Hembrow that’s not why this video is here . It’s here if you replaced the problem and do not have a odb2 reader.
I sincere hope you do not work on cars 😂
@@MichelLinschoten hes comment makes more sense than yours. If the light is on you have a problem still turning it off doesnt fix the problem the light will come back on shortly.
Or if you can't wait you can go to Harbor Freight and buy one. If you have a check engine code, it is recommended to fix the problem ASAP, for if you don't, it can lead to bigger problems. Most sensors in cars go bad and is an easy fix. You can pick up sensors at your local Auto Zone store. If you need to get your car inspected, when you clear codes, they will not give you an inspection sticker unless you drive a few hundred miles after you clear the codes. So make sure if you need to get your car inspected, do that well in advance otherwise you will not get an inspection sticker.
Yah...but at $50. To $780 a piece for these plastic Fucken sensors, you run put of money fast...and most generally replacing these Fucken sensors doesn't " fix" the problem, only compounds it.
how would they know the sensors are cleared?
so much wrong in this section i cant even begin
Thank buddy what a great video it helps a lot thank you
Thanks for the information very helpfull
first one worked for me. disconnected the negative for two minutes
If the light triggers again that means you have still a problem you have to take care of, but if it was just a loose gas cap then light should stay off.
you were incorrect about the fault codes being a record. The codes are still active on the vehicles PCM, they just haven't reached enough drive cycles before clearing on their own so they still show up on your list even with the fix being deployed.
Thanks man, thats going to help me a lot
Worked on first try thank you
Hopefully your mechanical if not you'll be at the mercy of a repair shop , I always try to watch repairs being done , ask lots of questions , see the old parts and test drive the car before I pay with a credit card , Beware of Crooked Shops People
You are right!! Crooks! I had a bad experience recently. This crooked mechanic put in a used piece of junk but charged me for a new part. Only was discovered after my car broke down driving from the shop!!
I too always stand and watch what their actually repairing and always ask for the replaced parts because if they really needed to be replaced they wont have any reason not to give them to you. I also like you pay with a credit card so if their is still an issue I can have the credit card hold and even charge back the bill until they actually fix it right. If their honest they wont mind you watching if they know you.
"3 ways to fix without using scan tool"....uses scan tool to turn off engine light! 🙄
Hahaha.
Thus guy is a joke
And the third but not least way is to use a scanner.
🤔😎🤩🤣😮💨😬🤐🤤😒 You nailed it lmao. people are fools and liars
How to turn off engine light without fixing anything.
I just subscribed, but wanted to know that this seems like a masters level class, as do most of your other videos. Do you know of any basic level channels, etc..
