Here's a close up view of a Clown Pleco scraping algae from the aquarium glass. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Another one of God's wonderful creatures.
7 months ago I added a clown pleco to two different tanks. I thought they died and got devoured by other fish, but I finally saw them a couple of days ago.
I'm thinking rubber lip since my clown has very defined yellow stripes and more of a brown color and also NEVER comes out with the lights on lol but the common name "clown pleco" refers to I think three different L numbers which are slightly different so I could be wrong. I wouldn't doubt that you do have clowns in there but never see them, seems to be the case for alot of people and this tank is extremely dense with vegetation to stay hidden in.
When ever I see a pleco munching on the glass I can't help but think "nom nom nom nom nom..." to myself 😂
I have a clown but I rarely see it. Nice looking fish
rubberlip judging from the spots on its face
Sooooo cute, just got one!
This a year old. But I keep fish in a similar style as you, I however am not as hardcore as you, nor do I have the fraction of years in the hobby as you do. That is why, I watch you so much. I had a tank with some fish that where just not working out in my 40breeder, so I brought them back. In the months that these 2 where in my tank. They murdered others in their sleep. So over time the system was hurting a bit and some algae definitely had a chance to take over. I own busy nose's, oto cats, clown pleco's, ect. So I chose a rubber lip to clean my glass and plants. A few ppl told to kiss my plants good bye. I laughed.
Flushed it on down to Davey Jones’ Locker…
What temperature do you keep your rubber lip plecos? I'm told they need cooler water.
Most of my tanks are upper 70s.
hi i bought a rubber lip 3 weeks ago it wont eat anything except the bog wood . any ideas on what i can try to feed it
I use Hikari algae wafers. they love them.
Do they do better on cleaning the glass than the Brisolnose Pleco’s?
I've never had a bristlenose, but I'd guess they're about the same.
Hello Dan. Your clown peco is good size. How big is he? I thought about getting these for my two ten gallon tanks. I have two Otocinclus catfish in each of my two ten gallon tanks with my betta. They do a good job in cleaning the algae on my glass, decor and silk plants.
They only get a few inches long. I'd put them in a ten without concern.
Definitely not clown, I'll say bulldog pleco !!!
0:28 what is the fish in the background?
Crenicichla regani female. (dwarf pike cichlid)
I would go legitimate months in between seeing my rubber lip. Now it roams the tank like it owns the place and bullies my eartheater and flagtail like no other. Go figure! I love them though 😂
i got one a few days ago and haven’t seen it since i put it in my tank
@@showtimexshiloh887 Seen it yet? I'm about to get a second one!
@@FootyHerper10 actually yeah i saw it at night and i just got a second one yesterday!
I've got a golden nugget I barely see I love him when I do see him
I got a tip for fish that love to hide for most part.. this is my experience with the Black 👻 knife fish I keep. He loves to hide under rock work. I hardly had the chance to observe him. I made some changes to my aqurium. I got 3 pieces of rectangle black slates glued them in a manner it looked like a hollow block with top & both ends opened. I removed some of the rocks. I placed the slate cave so that it was facing the front it the glass. Now Black 👻 knife fish started to sleep in there during day time. I can observe him at any given point of time. I forgot to mention the top of the slates I covered using a old roof tile.
1:25 boredom, ms.pike?
I had a rubber Pleco and his name was Firefly Sr. And he had a son named Firefly Jr.
And I also have a Clown Pleco and his name is Boco. Firefly Jr. and Boco are getting along well
As you are talking about the rainbow fish you bought from PetSmart ( not the regular stores you visit) this opens room for interesting discussion, do you get the opportunity to net the fish all by yourself or the stores staff insist on netting the fish for you as PetSmart is a chain of stores & they have some rules set) Similarly if you happen to visit a mom & paps store do you get the opportunity to net the fish all by yourself so that you can pick the most healthy & beautiful looking fish from that particular fish tank, as the stores manager might interact with you as you happen to be a regular customer. In my case we don't have chain stores in pet industry but we do have chain stores for groceries. I get the choice to net the fish by myself or the stores staff are at hand to help. There are all small fish stores.
I can tell them what fish I want, but no stores let customers do anything in the tanks.
Rubber lip for sure. I have 2 clown plecos in a 75 gallon and they look nothing like that
Looks like a rubber lip to me. The clown is a different type and has a more traditional Pleco mouth, while The rubber lips mouths are more oval and their lips are fatter.
I think the rubber lips tend to have more spots where the clowns tend to have more stripes, but I could be wrong. I only ever had one rubber lip and he was a jerk so I got rid of it.
Got my hands on a rubberlip here in the uk he is a funny fish, he went up to my sialfin pleco and hit him in the face then as soon as my sailfin moved 1 inch he swims away so fast
It's surprising how fast they move. Especially since they skim over the surface of rocks at that speed.
I just got a small ruberlip pleco today
They're great fish.
Dan Hiteshew I agree mines a really small he’s a baby
What do plecos do In the wild when they don’t have glass to clean lol
Find rocks. Lol
Do you have any snails or critters that they, the plecos, SMASH!!!!!!!!!?
I’ve got a Albino RLP that seems to have joined several…. soccer leagues….. with snails… as the balls 🤦🏼♂️
The 4 snails and the pleco are both gorgeous and share 30 bloody gallons… but..
One beautiful snail was smashed and I’m scared my tank could crack from a snail or rock on glass impact.
Not sure about who's crushing the snail, but you don't need to worry about the glass breaking.
Come give us a kiss
