I love her cooking, no fanciness, just the plain down to earth Jamaican cooking. Once you see the Dutch pot, it has mileage on it, you know this mama/aunty/grandma knows what she is talking about. Big Up and Respect. Thanks for Sharing.
Oh my lord, you had me salivating the moment I saw your dish. I watched you for the first time and fell in love with you. You are the real mama/aunt/grandma. I will try to make your dish but I know it won't even come close because I will not have your pot. But it will still be delicious. Thankyou, you are my new prize and I will follow you for now on. Bless you.
Man, I'm American (Claim to be JA-merican)! I cooked this while in Westmoreland with my Jamaican Family ( they adopted me). They couldn't tell I wasn't raised in Jamaican after eating my cooking. Yeah Mon! They yammed it up!😅😊🥰 Thanks Deb!

Your voice is soo soothing I feel like I'm sitting at my besties mom table, miss her cooking so. Much success to you, your food looks delicious and no ketchup!😘😘😘
I had to add you because your opening was so genuine and loving it made me smile in the face of this world crisis! Much LOVE!
Did she say free range chicken? I was wondering why her chicken looked so health and white, not yellow.
Yes. Most jamaican purchase their chicken from the locals instead of from the grocery store, supermarkets, or shops.
Yeah for her it was free for us it's going to cost around $15
@@thelastfamily3004 free as in not raised in chicken coop but out in an open space
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If your chicken is yellow it's not because its not free range. It's because it's old.
She deserves her own TV show definitely my new favorite UA-cam cook
I agree.❤
Them pots tell me all I need to know!!!!!😋😋😋😍😍😍
She is absolutely fabulous and very authentic Jamaican woman. Easy to follow recipe and easy to make too. Just the color of the chicken alone is awesome!
What is the yellow season call
What is the yellow season call she is using. She is chopping it up

If Debbie makes frozen food should be rich enough respect and manners
See, this lady is an old pro in the kitchen, say what you got to say, do what you got to do with confidence, cause she has experience to know what her dish will look like when she is done. Best home made video in the kitchen I have seen to date. Burn Me. Debbie. Much respect.
That’s the bum very original!!!
Also I knew this lady was a bad mama jammed when she quickly did her slicing and dicing in her fingers no chopping board needed. I knew this would be good and she did not disappoint. Now let me give you the highest props from our community, your cooking be like, "girl you done snatch my edges off and then turned around and put your foot in it. I ADORE you sooooooo much! You remind me of my Beloved Grandmother. NO one cooked like her until I found YOU! She was an old fashioned Bajan cook. Her food warmed my soul. Sadly I was a little girl when she went Home. I've been cooking since I was 5 years old & I love to Cook the authentic Bajan and Jamacian foods of my childhood. I hope to open a Bed & Breakfast With your Recipes. I know Grand mother would have Loved you also. Thank you for preserving the Past! This is the way my mother do it. I always enjoy her food. I love the way how she do the chicken. Thanks for reminding persons that they don't need ketchup or Browning to make a delicious pot of chicken.
You brought bsck some feelings in my heart....my grandmother was trying to teach me this method but I wasnt intrested... I .was about 13 years. Of age at that time.....you have explained it perfectly. Do you do the lamb the same way? She had called it " potting lamb". I would love to know. You did a great job! Felt like a child again watching my granny cooking! Thanks for that feeling!

I watch this video with Debbie and honestly I just love her. She is down to earth and it's a joy listening and following her. This receipe is just right for me because ketchup is not good for me and I wanted to get away from browning. Debbie you showed me a different way to do my chicken. I also love how you engage your audience. I will definitely be following your programs. God bless you. Very pleasant.
I will try to do it just like her. Good job the old fashion way is the best

AMEN! That's the words I wanted to use, right THERE! 👌🏼 Thank you Debbie!
Im going out tomorrow and buy a cast iron pot. A big fan. Can't wait to see more.
The good old ' dutch ' pot, got to love them. The well used ones give better
' browning ' results than the new ones.
Love yuh dutch pot miss D. lol !!!
Yes hard to find good ones nowadays been looking for some for long time
@@sensual2kizz613 Try your local Costco. Sometimes you can find them in the back of the store in the restaurant section.
😷One of the best gifts you can get from your granny, momma, or auntie an 'dem is one of the pots/pans they use to cook with when you were little (and in their way)!😃

Hey beautiful sista. Brown stew is a classic in the American South. Hey camera girl, how is school? Pray you are excelling. Love from America.
OH yes tfs
"Kimy shoot dem up!!" I love to listen to her talking!
Looks lovely !! will be making this soon from a little Irish woman who loves Jamaican food !!
Hope you enjoy
Damn Debbie!!! That looks perfect in every way. When are you coming to the USA to set the record straight? Excellent work mommy
Miss Debs this brings back memories of my childhood. The only difference mom made to this dish was she added brown vinegar as part of her seasoning and included tomato puree. When that chicken was cooked it was to die for. You can't beat the old fashion style of cooking and seasoning. Scallions onions black and white pepper the vinegar and the puree. I couldn't have been no more than 6. This was seasoned over night as we had no fridges back in the day.
That's the oleschool way granma teach me but the quick route nowadays like she say a tip o soya sauce dats it blessup mummy😀
Love watching this woman cook..... YOU'RE GONNA GET VERY VERY FAMOUS ONE DAY!!! Keep up the good work👍
Great 👍
Thanks this is wonderful
Big up you self de fowl them nice😂😂😂 I love this woman, am proud to be Jamaican, better yet, proud to be African, because that’s what we are.👍🏼🇯🇲❤️💕🌺❤️
Damn Ma' I'm going to have to try this, along with a side of that Ciroc Liquor over to the side... Yes ma'am 😊👍 yummy 😋😋😋
If we didn't have the Rona to keep me on lockdown in the house I would be at the supermarket now getting my inGREASEments 😉 for this dish. And ingreasements don't mean grease, it means any ingredients and in my case, I'm ashamed to say the missing scotch bonnet and the scallion. What good West Indian didn't have them on hand? 😳. Anyway, new subscriber here. 😃
Yes Aunty Debbie!!!! This how my mom taught me how to wash, season and cook meat....from the age of 8yrs old. What chopping board???🤣🤣🤣Rub in that seasoning!!! Awwwh! miss her so much. Thank you Debbie for the memories.
@JudahBenLevi 🙌🏾 I will never forget the first pot of rice and peas. Did everything rigth, just put too much in. When I say the rice swelled up. Could have fed the 5,000.🤣🤣🤣🤣I know better now.

THAT POT? Real life!!!. Authentic!!!!!. I FEEL LIKE CALLING MY GRAND MA. LOVE THIS....
looked bit light to me
I swear I can smell it...lol..look so good!!!!!!!! I am going to cook this. 😀
We didnt call it chicken then..it was called fowl, my people used to give the chosen fowl some vinegar a few days before I they meet their fate ,i dodnt eat any because those fowls were my bff that they killed for food, made me sad for long periods of time, up to now i have a little issue with eating meat,im not a vegetarian.
I need me a jessie ...brown the chicken so good
You ever learn why they gave them the vinegar?
As a child from born in the uk but of jamaican heritage
On my first trip back home my grandfather made me kill a chicken with him
It was the best chicken I've ever tasted to this day
That was some 40 years ago
We’d soak the chicken (post Mortem, of course) in the sink with vinegar; that helped draw out all the blood in case it hadn’t been properly bled. Ppl don’t do that today and that’s why their chicken is bloody throughout.
I love watching you cook. You are straight forward, down home an authentic Jamaican cook ! I love it ! 🙂💯
That’s just how I was taught 40 years ago by a Jamaican boy friend I had I still cook like it now but never tried it with the potatoes thanks I enjoyed watching
Free handed is how my mom taught me, I still cut free handed in her memory
