Nice kit (I have one on order) but as a 'beginner' I do not appreciate being talked down to regarding painting the canopies. And it would help if you aimed your camera over the area where you are displaying items (or zoom out a bit for a wider viewing angle).
yeah that video was gone back on my phone
Doesn't make any sense
The bomb bay could be configured to carry multiple different bomb loads and it was often fitted with sets of 4 bomb clamps when carrying a higher quantity of the smaller (250lb) incendiary bombs. The reference image in the book clearly shows the adjustable nature of the bomb clamps and the multiple "clamp rails" from which the bomb clamps could be hung.
It's a very good review - much appreciated and very informative, helped to convince me to go chase the kit on ebay - fingers crossed.
I noticed on the decal sheet ED905 BQF, so I checked my Dads log book & the Book Clsim to Fane the Lancaster by Norman Franks (Lancs that survived 100 + hops) & sure enough my Dad done 1 hop on BQF on Sept 19th. 1944 to LaHavre with FO J Dawson's crew (my Dad was the Wop/Ag this was 1 of 3 100+ Lancs on 550 Sqr. That achieved his claim including BQB Phantom of the Ruhr in wuich my dad done 3 hops in & 3 hops in PA995 The Vulture strikes
I would have love to have seen them Lancaster flying together
yes it was a sight to see I will never forget. I'm glad I managed to get some video footage so I can share
Option 4 is NOT a "Navy" version. It was the markings for the proposed "Tiger Force", Lancasters due to be sent to the Far East to Bomb Japan in late 1945-46. It was halted by the Surrender, but they kept the paint job for about 2 years afterwards, and some were indeed sent to the far east as part of the Occupation forces and peacekeeping duties. I also have this kit but I will be doing mine as a 75 (NZ) Squadron ship - probably from "C" Flight, which did not use the standard 75 codes of AA-x, but rather used JN-x.
TL880 was 35 squadron commander's aircraft for a five week goodwill tour of the US in July / August 1946
Thank you for the review! Well done! Cheers.
random, i may have said this on another of your videos, apologies if so, but i live in Chadderton, Oldham, about a mile from avro's factory where many, if not most, lancasters were built. NOV mono Pumps owns it now, not exactly got the same feel as an aircraft manufacturer!.
