I had my screen door fixed three times. I hated using it because of the risk involved on a windy day. Some people advised removing the protruding waste can from the door so that it wouldn’t break the strings when the door slammed shut. Instead, I use a bungy to secure the door handle to the cab door handle. I would be very curious what you sold your 2020 View for because I am considering selling mine as well. I added 680 solar, 5 Lion Lithium batteries, EQsmart auto levelers, the Victron solar system, and the macerator. I also just I upgraded my Trauma Instant hot water system to the Trauma-plus. I have just over 17k miles and 10 hrs on the generator. My model is a 24V, unlike yours.
@@rvlifediy 127k sounds a fair price. I was looking for 130k without the BlueOx hitch. I am headed up to Snowflake AZ and ShowLow for summer. I am hoping to put it for sale once I get there in April/May.
Thank you so much for your all of videos. I just started to subscribe . Last week I traded my old 2013 View with brand new 2023 Navion … your videos are so valuable… I already purchased some of your upgrade items .. Just wondering how much did you sell your beautiful RV ?
Thank you so much your quick replay. very reasonable price with lots of upgrade. I also bought 24D model and so excited. I’ll see the rest of your video will learn more and will keep watching your new beautiful RV UA-cam video … thank you so much 😊
Thanks so much for your Years of DIY assistance on the 24D , Sorry to see you go but understand the Family is growing , I know this is late to the game but did you ever do anything with your tank sensors in the Winnebago? I know you added the water tank but i cant find anything on tank levels monitoring in your videos .... Thanks again so much Enjoy the new Rig and Remember its not so much the destination but its the Journey !!
Thanks David. I agree it's definitely the journey. I did not make a video on the sealevel gauges I installed. I have helped out a few people with their installs via email so if you have particular questions, email me and I'll see if I can help out. The sealevel gauges work so much better. The install is not bad if you don't mind cutting some low voltage wired.
thanks for the response, on the sealevel gauge did you mount a new display next to the factory one? Can we use the existing sensor wires for the new unit? Thanks again , hope to see some travel videos .....Florida some day?
@davidstallings590 yes I mounted the display to the left of the existing panel. Yes you can reused all the existing wires. The wires are in parallel so once you decide to cut wires, you are at the point of finishing the project to get your sensors and panel complete. The black tank sensor is a difficult one to replace.
Hey, thanks for all the sharing of your fixes, upgrades and observations. I have learned a bunch, and have done some of the mods you did, but not always with as good success as you. The soft close hinges were a real pain even with a helper. I kind of quit on that one but should come back to the project with new energy. I am only one year into my ownership, so I still have a few years ahead. Best wished on you new rig.
Thanks David. Please check the video description again, and see if that helps you more once you renew your energy lol. Email me with any questions on anything else related to the Veiw/Navion.
@@rvlifediy Thanks, and I will check your hinge install video again, and again. and again........ I had issues with the button latch not lining up correctly and getting stuck. That button is drilled and mounted in a way that does not allow for much or any adjustments based on my observations. Then I had the spinning screw issue, but did not have the time to fill the holes and then pre-drill and install larger screws. After struggling with just one hinge I decided that adding a middle hinge would make my install simpler. But I noticed that behind the horizontal wood is the light strip and the wood was not very robust to hold the hinge. That's when I stopped... FYI I had that track bar installed along with bigger rear shocks and a bigger sway bar made by those guys in Grants Pass Oregon. That's where I left my suspension mods and am pretty happy. I am finding that with my wife and myself based on our camping style the under seat storage is more valuable than putting in an extra water tank. I did the accumulator upgrade just like you suggested though. You have a bigger family putting more demands on the rig, and man you are a gourmet cook too. And you seemed to be going on trips all the time........The size is just right for me and my wife. Take care Dave
@@5290harp The front Koni struts made a tremendous difference in the handling/porpoising of the front end. In the future, you may want to consider it. I agree the View/Navion is almost the perfect size to zip around. For 2 people, it's very comfortable. We do travel quite a bit. We started on some longer, bigger trips also, and with 2 kids and a dog, the space was a little cramped (but we really enjoyed the flexibility to zip around). And yes we love to cook good food on our trips.
Thanks for sharing, I'll hang with you if nothing else to see your new rig and hopefully get your thorough insiders view of something different. 😉 Somebody is getting a well maintained RV!
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I think it’s the roll of the dice when getting your RV. We’ve been very happy with our 22v. Just crossed the 10k mark. Been to WB factory for the 1 yr. Punch list maintenance. logged 3800 miles from Florida and believe that was worth the trip to do. Best of luck!
Have been following your videos, I have done some similar mod myself, kind of sad to see you sell it after all the modifications, look forward to see your next RV and what you will be modifying.
That's definitely the tough part on doing all the mods, and then moving on. But we really like having all the extra features from the modifications, and we enjoying using the RV much more. I'm sure I will have plenty of mods in the future RV. Thanks for watching.
Yes. Prefer the smaller size of the View, but with growing kids, it gets cramped. We had a much larger RV prior, and prefer not to go that large, but who knows lol.
Most of the sprinter based RV's are built lighter duty due to the lower carrying capacity. Most sprinter based RV's have thinner walls, floors, sometimes roof (Winnebago). Always exceptions of course.
I'm sure I was right at the limit. I removed all the factory components that I didn't use so that helped a little. The biggest thing that helped is that my family is light weight.
we were just in a 2023 View and the plastic toilet and countertops did me in. For the price? I was so disappointed TBH. I also would rather have this rig on a FORD and be able to actually have some quality cabinets and countertops.
Yes the plastic toilet and countertop is cheesy. They do it to keep the weight down, but I'd rather have better quality material. Cabinets from other manufacturers will be similar though. Seems many are using the same type of cabinets recently. I like the power of the Ford transit, and the AWD, but the cab seemed much smaller and less comfortable. I haven't driven one, so it may be better than perceived.
@@rvlifediy drive one. The Ford is comfy and yes a little smaller. Less cost to maintain and more carrying capacity. I agree the plastic cuts weight but it’s cheap and doesn’t reflect in the Views price. Don’t get me wrong, I think the Sprinter is a nice platform, I just don’t want to pay that price. I also like AWD concept but again not a deal breaker. What are you getting next?
@@LASadvgrrl You are talking about the Ford Transit right? If so, they do NOT have higher carrying capacity. I see that stated quite often on UA-cam, but not sure where that bad info comes from. Sprinter GVWR is 11,030 pounds, and Ford Transit is 11,000 pounds. Whoever builds the lighter house will end up with more carrying capacity or OCCC. Yes the Ford maintenance should be less. Unfortunately it can get very confusing with all the different models out there, and how to compare them, but there are some major features the sales literature does not show. Some of my newer videos show what I ended up getting. I went to a bigger size RV "for now" but will likely go back to a smaller RV in the far future.
Thx so much for all the vloging, and info on the View, I will miss your tips and tricks , Good luck on the next!

I think it was around 43,000-45,000 miles. I don't recall exact number. No issues with engine. Everything Mercedes had no problem.
