We used trangia stoves in our military training, cooking rations in forest missions during all seasons. Trangias are standard issue in many training branches of the Finnish military. After my military training, I kept up the practice while going to forest festivals, a somewhat particular type of Finnish music festival.
Very practical, and you can cook up a large stew or soup for several people with the full aluminum set that's compact and weighs very little.

5/5 for me. The whole multi fuel thing is so handy. I've had little Trangia stoves all my life. Doesnt have to be alcohol, Meths is great too

Meths or methylated spirit is alcohol, known as denatured alcohol in the USA. Regards Broadlander

I started with a tragia 27, the burner is brass makes hands stink but very good.
I also have your one i use burners every day, and use a combination of fire dragon alcohol and meths its makes a cleaner burn so pots dont get blackened.

Btw on the stand if you bend the flaps in, you can rest the sove lip on it to get it closet to your pot .Lee

I make my own alcohol stoves as I find the trangia size ones too hot for heating 250ml of water for a 3 in 2 coffee which is all o need on a day Hike. My whole setup fits inside a tobacco tin, spoon, stove and stand, windshield lighter flint. That and a 300ml to mug is all I need.
London tube stations and shops used to have free hand sanitizer which I would fill up on when going out for a day Hike. Those were the days!

Boils a lot quicker when you put a lid over the pan, I drink so much tea so use small frying pan plus lid.

The “snuffer” is primarily used to vary the size of the opening to vary the heat.

The stove you are using is not a Trangia it looks like a cheap copy of the real thing .

Definitely a clone! Trangia has a “T” embossed on the base, same size jet holes, warning instructions embossed on the screw on cap. The simmer ring/ snuffer on a Trangia has a dark brown sliding top and doesn’t have a handle. I have used Trangia and clone burners and find the original to be the best, however not by a great deal! The cheaper copy burners are generally lighter in construction but do a reasonable job, it was one such clone that wakened my interest in alcohol/spirit stoves and still gets it’s fair share of use!

I have that exact stove with the stand and pouch. You used it entirely wrong. The outer lip of the stove is supposed to sit on the three inward bent tabs which appear to be bent out of position on yours. I use a 1.5 L Bulin pot with a heat exchanger bottom which sits perfectly on the stand and I can boil a full liter of water on a single ounce (30ml) of denatured alcohol.

i had one break, my fault for using it as a heater with reflector behind it cracked , but was a easy fix as a beer can fit straight over it )
