So, season passes? Loot boxes ? $20 for a skin ? That's just normal, to them.

If they invest 200 millions on a game, + 20 millions on ads... and nobody buys it, like Justice league, and then, they see a single player title, with no woke crap, selling 9 million copies, maybe they will start thinking twice. Again, the only language they understand, is MONEY.
all it takes is the young gamers, 13-25yo, to stop buying these trash games.
Also, there's one thing the industry could do: allow gamers to fully customize their main character, and also the npcs.. after all, it's just some stupid textures or skins
You want to play as a dude, with green hair and red lipstick ? Just customize it. You want all the other characters/ npcs to be trans, gay, e etc ? Just change the description of the characters to "lgbtq".
That way, when a gamer talks to some npc, under the name, it says ' Josh, 25yo, trans non binary".
Problem solved? No.
Because they don't want to play as a lgbt character. They want EVERYBODY ELSE to play as a lgbt character.

Im playing last epoch now. There's no character creation. Im white IRL, chose sentinel class and the game chose a black guy for me. I could not give a single shit and love playing the dude. Anything (games, movies, tv shows, etc.) that STARTS with "diversity" instead of "entertainment" will be crap.
I worked for a mortgage company that was in the top 10 in the country, Homepoint. They brought in one of these DEI teams that had the entire company wasting hours each week on this garbage. Guess where Homepoint is now... no longer in business. From top 10 during the pandemic to out of business in less than 2 years. I won't say that it was entirely because of this diversity agenda but they were spending hundreds of thosands on this stuff while laying off nearly a quarter of their staff. Literally putting POC's out of a job while saying how important they are to the company culture.
The worst part is, the executives got their bonuses as the company was sold off in pieces and the CEO moved on to another CEO position at another company after running this one into the dirt and laying off 4,000 employees. They don't really care because there are no consequences for them.

Vigilante is clearly more of a male identify and thus would appeal more to men, even if the vigilante was female.
This "seeing yourself" in so and so is mostly nonsense. Women identify with different types of characters. Doesn't mean we need to start gender swapping all established characters so that women can "see themselves" in them. It's pure nonsense. If you want female superheroes, write some new ones. And write them properly so that they are interesting and relatable.

The worst of this is it is true that we really didn't care what character we played before. Nowadays, when I see a female lead or even diverse cast, I just pass on the game because it is a red flag for woke carbage.
I loved so many games, books and movies w/ female leads up until about 2020 when they bludgeoned me with it. The characters were no longer admirable heroines, but victims that hated their own society, snarky and disrespectful to other characters and the audience.
Not a healthy attitude to have. If you see something that interests you, but has red flags, just do some research in whether your apprehension is justified or not.
