  • Welcome to the "Masters of To-Shin Do" Series where I interview the leadership of the To-Shin Do Martial Art.
In this first installment I interview the head and founder of To-Shin Do, Stephen K. Hayes. In this two part episode we explore the past and future of To-Shin Do, advice for new martial artists, and tips from the master himself.

I remember 25 years ago a buddy gave me one of his books and now at this point I’ve read probably close to all of his books, Hatsumi’s books, Dr Kacem Zhoughari’s books, and even some of Antony Cummins books. I took some Bujinkan classes when I was close enough to it and did 1 retreat with Anshu Hayes in Bloomington, IN. All of it has stuck with me throughout my life and I’m very grateful. It all started with Stephen K. Hayes! 🙏

I found karate when I was 9 and a brown belt by 12 in the early 90s around that time is when I found Stephens book on ninjitsu, wish I knew where it went. I learned a lot from his book and my karate and jui jitsu sensei, it is true it is a lifelong journey of learning. I still practice today.

If schoolteachers were like Stephen Hayes and if pupils/students were like that too in their hearts there would be much less conflict in the world.

    Great channel.
Mr Hayes had a huge impact on us all in the 80s. Great time
You'd probably like some of my videos including Ninja swords that were screen used by Sho Kosugi.

If Stephen Hayes has not figured out what a ninja is by now then the chances of him ever knowing must be beyond his understanding. Stephen Hayes will go to prison for his crimes against innocent people or war will be declared.
