  • Floyd Patterson was an American professional boxer who competed from 1952 to 1972. He was the first heavyweight boxer to win the gold medal at the Olympic Games, which he achieved in 1952. Patterson had a successful professional career, winning the heavyweight title twice.

      I first learned about your father when when I about 6 years old playing knockout kings 2000 …he was honestly one the best fighters that boxing had to offer

      Floyd only had 2 biological daughters and 1 adopted son Tracy Harris Patterson
      How are you his son

      @@lendrury2771 He is Floyd's first son. He had 4 biological daughters, 2 biological sons and 2 adopted sons.

    For a man who wasn’t really a heavyweight he was a great heavyweight champion. Add to that he was a gentleman inside and outside the ring, this made him a great and humble human being. Great interview. RIP champ.

    He had similarities with Tyson. Grew up in Brooklyn, juvenile delinquent, went afoul of the law as a kid, trained and mentored by Cus D'Amato. Their boxing styles were similar. Fast hands, "peek a boo" defense style.

      I would say this was in early 1985 or a little before because he mentions Holmes as champion

      They were good friends. Floyd was the only person Ali allowed besides his mom to call him Clay. There are some other interviews explaining this, but basically Floyd was the one to help Ali made a comeback in 1970 after his license was taken away
