I have a soft spot for 1976 High Voltage. My first AC/DC vinyl at the age 14. Played it a tons. So many classics on that album. And my favorite AC/DC track of all times: Live Wire!
'70's - Let There Be Rock (quite possibly my favorite AC/DC album) '80's - Back in Black (Flick of the Switch isn't far behind) '90's - Ballbreaker (and it isn't particularly close) '00's - Stiff Upper Lip (I've begun to enjoy Black Ice more and more as time goes on) '10's/'20's - Power Up Gotta give an "honorable mention" to Fly on the Wall, an extremely underrated album and is much better than it's given credit for. My favorite rock 'n roll band of all time!
Popoff and Pardo give us a treat by ranking the AC DC catalogue by decade. Some they agree, some they do not. But always a great show to listen to these two discuss music. Thanks for the entertainment.

Great shout-out to "For Those About to Rock"! I really love that album. While I view "Flick of the Switch" as the most underrated album in their catalog, "For Those About to Rock" gets overlooked in some ways because of the legendary album that came right before it. The track "Breaking the Rules" is a completely overlooked classic!
@@JamesThomas-dz4vj I totally agree! I prefer 'For Those About to Rock' over 'Back in Black,' actually. Also, I don't think it helped that the record label decided to release 'Dirty Deeds' in the states around the same time as 'For Those About to Rock '

Love this channel and the Pardo Popoff pairing . The missing apostrophe on Razor’s Edge didn’t annoy me as much as the “e” in Given / Givin’ The Dog A Bone on the original Back In Black , I guess it was fixed once it came out on CD . I would have chose Stiff Upper Lip , everything after is too clean sounding for the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world . Thanks SoT gang for the always interesting and fun conversations .

Powerage, Highway to Hell & Let There be Rock for me, whilst i like Brian & the bands popularity swelled after Bons passing i always felt like they never eclipsed those early records.

Agree with Martin on Rock or Bust. Even the not-good-at-all Blow up Your Video is better. Yup, the clean guitar tones started on Ballbreaker. I remember clearly to think, back in 95/96, that the guitar tones were so clean (specially Malcolm's) that they even reminded me of the guitar tone on Lou Reed's New York. But I liked Ballbreaker a lot - still do! If Razor's Edge wasn't what it is (a huge comeback with at least 3 classic songs), I'd have not problem picking Ballbreaker as my 90's favourite.
There's a moment before a song on one of their very very early recordings where you can hear them singing a traditional Glaswegian song called 'you cannae throw yer Grannie off a bus.' That's my favourite 70s moment form AC/DC.
My picks, exactly the same as Martin’s. There are times I agree with Martin and times I don’t. As somebody whose album guides I’ve devoured, the one band we are in full agreement more than any other is AC/DC. All the way down to the FLICK OF THE SWITCH worship and liking the last three Bon Scott albums more than the earlier ones.
70s- Let there be Rock - but so many choices. 80s- Back in Black 90s- Razers Edge (Do love the song Ballbreaker though) 2000s- Black Ice Don't have any others- but will check out Power up.
70's: Let There Be Rock (Highway to Hell would be 2nd) 80's: Back in Black (underrated Flick of the Switch would be 2nd) 90's: The Razor's Edge 00's/10's/20's: Stiff Upper Lip
Powerage all the way!!! Back in Black a VERY close second! After that we're talking Let There Be Rock, Flick Of The Switch, Highway To Hell and the first couple Bon albums. Powerage & Back In Black (and the live 'If you want blood') are something else!!! And Flick of the Switch is such a badass underrated album. Brian sounds like he's out for your throat on that, the whole band do!
Highway To Hell is my favorite album ever. Every album up to and including Flick Of The Switch and Razor's Edge are great with the exception of For Those About To Rock (not my fav). The rest are good, hit or miss song selection and sound very similar, but AC/DC still is my favorite band. I agree with you on Rock Or Bust and Power Up completely. Heard through another classic bass player a friend of Cliff's that they are strongly considering stopping touring due to age and Covid related issues, as well as Brian and Cliff enjoying motor sports and downtime in Florida.
Ï agree with Martin Popoff about Black Ice. Probably their strongest since Razor's Edge (if not longer). Do not agree about Blow Up You Video. Silly albumcover and quite cheesy albumtitle but the actul album, I feel, is better than several AC/DC albums!
Don't know if Pete is into them, but would love to see a show on Brian Johnson's pre AC DC band Geordie . They had 6,7 albums, Brian sang differently, and they were more of a glam rock band.
Another big fan of Fly On The Wall here, title-track and Send For The Man riffs among their heaviest ever. Cover artwork so cool as well. Just wish Rudd did the drumming.
I think some of the songs are really good but the production is TERRIBLE Brian Johnson sounds like Noddy Holder singing in next doors bathroom! I reckon if the band could drag themselves back into the studio and have another go it could sell a few million copies.
Pete, your totally on point with "Power Up." It was released at exactly the right time. Unless there is a real zombie holocaust, 2020 will definitely go down as the worst year in modern history, and AC/DC pretty much single-handedly made it suck just a little bit less.
70's Powerage 80's Flick Of The Switch 90's Ballbreaker 00's Black Ice 10's/20's Power Up Blow Up Your Video is a great album, but not quite enough to unseat Flick Of The Switch. I think Ballbreaker is a lot better than Razors Edge
70s: Powerage 80s: Back In Black 90s: Ballbreaker 00: Stiff Upper Lip 10-20: Power Up The 70s and 80s for me were no brainers. I do think Razor's might be stronger song for song, but I love a few songs on Ballbreaker (title track, Burnin Alive, Furor, Caught With Your Pants Down) and hate a few songs on Razor's (Mistress, Let's Make It). Plus, like Pete is tired of You Shook Me, I never want to hear Thunderstruck again. Loved it at the time, but can't stand it now. The same goes for Stiff over Black Ice. I LOVE the production on Stiff. Best sounding ACDC album to me since Flick or Back In Black. The songs aren't there strongest, but I love the title track and think that might be the best song in the latter half of their career. Black Ice is good, but I do think it is over long and I am not a huge fan of the production - too tinny. Power Up vs. Rock or Bust... Close match. I like both. But Power Up has Systems Down, Witches Spell, Kick Em When Your Down and Money Shot. All which are pretty damn good. For ROB, my faves are Emission Control, Hard Times and Sweet Candy. They are good, but not as good as the best on Power Up. I do hope for another album. I do hope they tour one more time. I would like my daughter to get to see my favorite band of all time if possible.
My theory is Flick gets so much love these days - not because it’s the better album - but because classic rock radio has beat Back in Black into the ground for forty years. Easily half the record is in constant radio rotation.
Pete. Shook me by AC/DC is burt out for me as well. Its a bathroom break song for me. Thunderstruck is the same way. I love some of the newer AC/DC songs.
70s- used to be Highway, but lately Powerage really clicked with me, so I’m going with that. 80s- Back in Black, though I’m kinda tired of it 90s- Ballbreaker. Love the stylistic shifts on this one; plenty of grit, too. 00s- I saw them on Stiff Upper Lip; but I tried the album a couple months ago, and man was I bored halfway through! Black Ice is much better, albeit longer. So Black Ice it is! Gotta go with Power Up outta the two and it’s not even close.
Powerage: The European record version has different mixes and song list (it includes Cold Hearted Man and deletes Rock And Roll Damnation) from the U.S. Version.
POWERAGE ...MY FAV....just soooo dam Great!
Thanks Pete for this show.....ACDC are my favourite band ...love all the álbuns.

70s - Powerade
80s - Back in Black
90s - Razor’s Edge
00s - Stiff Upper Lip
10s+ PowerUp
70s = Let There Be Rock (one of the top three albums of all time IMO) / 80s = Flick of the Switch / 90s = Ballbreaker / 00's and 10s = N/A!!!
70s - Highway To Hell
80s - Fly On The Wall
90s - The Razors Edge
00s - Stiff Upper Lip
10s - PWR / UP
70s / Powerage
80s / Back In Black
90s / Razor's Edge
00's / Black Ice
20's / Power Up
Great choices. I love Powerage, but for me let there be rock is my favorite just a hair above Powerage.
70's-Hard to pick. 80's-Back In Black or For Those About To Rock, 90's-Stiff Upper Lip or Ball Breaker. 00's Black Ice and now Power Up.
Ï agree with Martin Popoff about Black Ice. Probably their strongest since Razor's Edge (if not longer).
Do not agree about Blow Up You Video. Silly albumcover and quite cheesy albumtitle but the actul album, I feel, is better than several AC/DC albums!
70's Let There Be Rock
Definitely!
Absolutely! I go back and forth with whether or not it's my favorite AC/DC album of them all. It's right there with "Back in Black"!
Don't know if Pete is into them, but would love to see a show on Brian Johnson's pre AC DC band Geordie . They had 6,7 albums, Brian sang differently, and they were more of a glam rock band.
70s: Highway to Hell
80s: Fly On the Wall, idc what anyone says lol
90s: Razors Edge
00s: Stiff Upper Lip
10/20s: Power Up
Another big fan of Fly On The Wall here, title-track and Send For The Man riffs among their heaviest ever.
70's Powerage
80's Flick Of The Switch
90's Ballbreaker
00's Black Ice
10's/20's Power Up
Blow Up Your Video is a great album, but not quite enough to unseat Flick Of The Switch. I think Ballbreaker is a lot better than Razors Edge
70’s Highway to Hell
80’s Back in Black
90’s The Razor’s Edge
00’s Black Ice
10’-20s Power Up
70’s: Dirty deeds (australian version)
80’s: Back in black
90’s: Ballbreaker
00’s: Stiff upper lip
10-20’s: Power up
Back in Black blows away Flick of the Switch. I'm not surprised Popoff didn't pick HTH or BIB.
70s - High Voltage
80s - Back In Black
90s - Razors Edge
2000s - Black Ice
2010-20s - Power Up
Martin infected Pete with the "For Those About To Rock" Roast 😭😂.
70's: Powerage
80's: Blow Up Your Video
90's: Ballbreaker
00's: Black Ice
10's-20's: Power Up
70s: Powerage
80s: Back In Black
90s: Ballbreaker
00: Stiff Upper Lip
10-20: Power Up
The 70s and 80s for me were no brainers.
@Mr. MERCEDES 95 yes - but the record came out 41 years ago. How people consume music today has very little to do with its legacy
@Mr. MERCEDES 95Current Applebee's commercial... Back In Black...
My picks.
70's - "Powerage"
80's - "For Those About To Rock"
90's - "Ballbreaker"
00's - "Black Ice"
10's - "Rock Or Bust"
20's - "Power Up"
I'm with Martin: Powerage and Flick.. after that I do not care anymore
Pete. Shook me by AC/DC is burt out for me as well. Its a bathroom break song for me. Thunderstruck is the same way. I love some of the newer AC/DC songs.
70s- used to be Highway, but lately Powerage really clicked with me, so I’m going with that.
80s- Back in Black, though I’m kinda tired of it
90s- Ballbreaker.
'70s: Powerage (1978)
'80s: Back In Black (1980)
'90s: The Razors Edge (1990)
'00s: Stiff Upper Lip (2000)
'10s-'20s: Power Up (2020)
70s: Powerage
80s: Back in Black
90s: The Razors Edge
2000s: Power Up
Powerage: The European record version has different mixes and song list (it includes Cold Hearted Man and deletes Rock And Roll Damnation) from the U.S. Version.
God bless AC/DC
Let there be rock…Then Back in Black just blew me away …Not my top rock gods but they are top rock gods all the same for sure …
70s: Let There Be Rock
80’s: Back in Black
90’s: Razors Edge
2000: Black Ice
After 2000: PwrUp
As much as I cant f'n stand Axl, I thought he pulled off the Bon era stuff really well. I'd pick Chris Robinson as a replacement if one was needed
The lead singer from Rhino Bucket .
Marc from Krokus does Bon better than anyone
Great taste Martin
Love AC/DC! Are you doing a show like this on Rush?
