Blow up your video doesn’t get enough love in my opinion. I think that the dated 80’s sound makes it more unique than other albums. It’s been my favorite album for a while and I think it’s sad it doesn’t get enough appreciation.
A lot of people love the album. But for me it just wasn’t as good sounding as their other albums before or after. I don’t dislike it. But I’d love for it to get an updated remix removing that overly 80’s production sound.
Yeah, ya know, they really should remix some of their 80s albums. I know I would buy them asap if so. Blow up video has some really interesting songs but they are diminished due to mixing. Go Zone is a great melody, wry catchy. Have you listened to the B-sides from Blow up your video? They are arguably better than the tracks that made it to the album.
Fly on the Wall has always been my favorite AC/DC album too. The songs are all great and there is a pace and energy that I like. The production also sounds really good to me. Back in Black and the other classics are all great as well.
I thought about truly putting Fly On The Wall as number one but then I thought about all the great songs on the other two and realized it’s more just a matter that I’m worn out on the songs and not that they are any less good. Still it was close.
Not saying your opinion is wrong but I just don’t see how fly on the wall is considered good production by you guys. You can barley hear Brian because of the amount of reverb and everything
Fly on the wall was terribly produced by the young brothers. The vocals are layered with too much reverb and are way down in the mix. This was pointed out to Malcolm Young by a fan, when the band switched record labels and re released the Back catalogue, this problem was rectified with young overseeing the process. The FOTW Album was put together Way to quickly. There are some great songs on there, but an outside producer should have been brought in. The reverb on the vocals is to try to hide johsons bad vocals, it seems like he's struggling to be heard.
1. Let There be Rock. 2. Powerage. 3. Highway to Hell. First band I ever saw back in 1978 on the If You Want Blood tour so I'm biased towards the Bon albums. Great review.
I totally understand. I grew up with Brian Johnson and my first concert with The Razor’s Edge Tour so I’ll always be bias towards his era of the band. But there is no denying how great they were with Bon Scott.
Dio was classic with Sabbath and created a whole new band for them. Too bad they didn’t stick it out longer together. I can only imagine if the Dio catalogue had been influenced by Iommi and recorded as Sabbath albums. I think both would have been even bigger.
A very interesting album ranking there Brendon! I like the way you have the Scott/Johnston albums nicely mixed up in your ranking list rather than all one at one end of the list and all the other at the other end.
Great video once again. I’m glad you did this ranking because If I was given a year to do it I would get nowhere because I’d keep changing my mind. Every Cd is great
Hi bud, There were actually 2 AC/DC albums released under the title of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" - there is the international release, of which you have shown, the other, which you have not covered, is the Australian release. Both have, obviously, very different album covers and songs, whilst both share the title track of the album's name. To correlate the 1976 release of this song you had mentioned, "Jail Break", this appears as the last song on the Australian album. The Australian release is in my top 5 as it is far superior to the international version, although it would not hurt owning both albums as the amount of songs combined would be a treat. I hope I have cleared some shit up, Cheers!
Yeah High Voltage, Dirty Deeds, Let there be Rock Australian versions are different than the international versions. The second album TNT was only released in Australia. Powerage has 4 different versions. Some have RnR Damnation some have Cold Hearted man. Highway to Hell is the same everywhere but the Australian version has different artwork
Hi James, glad to hear you’re enjoying these. And you’re right opinions will always differ due to all the many number of factors that come into play when choosing the order. Powerage rules!
Brendon you are the first one I ever heard listing Flick of the Switch so high on your best list. That’s ok with me. I will say my worst would be Rock or Bust. I felt embarrassed that they released that one. But Power Up redeemed that mistake. Agree 100% on your #1 and #2.
To each his own right! I love Rock Or Bust and was very happy with it. I hear they’re working on a new album right now. It will be interesting to see if they can top Power Up.
Great job with this AC/DC ranking! It may not fit my own ranking, but you did a great job of explaining your own personal preferences. To me, For Those About To Rock is higher on the list. The title track is not only a perfect example of ‘if you had to show someone AC/DC in one song’, it answers that question for the entire genre of the music! While nothing else on the album touches that level of icon, it’s still a great AC/DC album to listen straight through. The one iconic song kicks into a series of awesome deep cuts. But that’s what I love about the album! AC/DC at their prime, releasing an album of deep cuts. It shows how great this band was (is). Coming off two powerhouses like Highway and Black, they seemed to say “Here’s a song just like those last two albums, now we’re going to do what we want”. I’m not trying to convince you of anything, just explaining my own thoughts. Fly on the Wall just never did it for me. But I get how it works for others.
I hear you! I do listen to the album more than Highway To Hell and Back In Black combined for just that reason. The album still has songs I don’t know and have not been worn out by radio. It is a solid album. But in terms of the ranking i liked others better. That’s the thing though with these rankings they’re all subjective to the person doing to them. But what’s the same is our love for AC/DC! 🤘
1. Powerage 2. Back In Black 3. Highway to Hell 4. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5. Let There Be Rock 6. High Voltage 7. For Those About to Rock 8. Flick of The Switch 9. The Razors Edge 10. Power Up 11. Ballbreaker 12. Blow Up Your Video 13. Stiff Upper Lip 14. '74 Jailbreak 15. Rock or Bust 16. Black Ice 17. Fly On The Wall
It’s funny because like you I don’t know why it isn’t considered better but so many people have been agreeing with me like you and it makes me wonder how much of it is media/critic driven when the fans really love it.
Nice ranking! 1) Powerage 2) Highway To Hell 3) Let There Be Rock 4) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 5) High Voltage 6) Back In Black 7) Flick of the Switch 8) Rock or Bust 9) PWR UP 10) For Those About To Rock 11) Fly on the Wall 12) Ballbreaker 13) Blow Up Your Video 14) Stiff Upper Lip 15) Black Ice 16) The Razors Edge
Yours is the first list I’ve ever seen with Razors Edge last lol Everyone likes stuff differently that’s why music is so awesome. Personally Razors Edge is probably in my top 10.
Great ranking episode with excellent insight. Powerage tops my list with Highway to Hell a close second. Keep these ranking episodes coming people love them.
I just went back through and re-listened to all of my AC/DC discs and revised my personal ratings, so it's cool that you also posted your list recently! Here are mine in order (I own the Australian versions of the 1st 3): 17. High Voltage (Australian) 16. Blow Up Your Video 15. Rock Or Bust 14. Stiff Upper Lip 13. Ballbreaker 12. Power Up 11. Black Ice 10. Fly On the Wall 9. Razor's Edge 8. Powerage 7. Flick of the Switch 6. TNT (Australian) 5. For Those About to Rock We Salute You 4. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (Australian) 3. Highway to Hell 2. Let There Be Rock 1. Back in Black Of course, these may change a month from now!
Wow, awesome! Fly on the wall is also my favorite AC/DC album, every song on it is amazing. I thought I was the only person who liked it, but it’s cool to see that someone else likes it as much as I do, I also wanted to ask which song on fly on the wall you like the most. Also I like blow up your video a lot. This means war and go zone are my favorites on the album, it is so hard to tell which AC/DC album is the best because they are one of the best bands ever. the main reason I commented on this video is that you mentioned those wild horses cds, I have never heard of them so it would be cool to listen to them.
Hi Annie! Always great to find another Fly On The Wall fan. My favorite track is probably the title track. But I also love the 2nd track Shake Your Foundations and Sink The Pink. Honestly there are no band tracks IMO. Regarding Wild Horses, if you’re interested in CD Giveaway, just follow the rules and post a comment under the related video for those CD’s and I’ll gladly enter you into the contest.
Great video (again). Can't go wrong with AC/DC. 👍 Really like the Bonfire set in background and gato making another cameo. Lol. Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is mindblowingly great still.
Now in my early 50’s, I remember buying Back In Black vinyl when it came out, after collecting and unfortunately having to sell all my CD’s, coming full circle, my 13 year old daughter is starting in on CD’s, what better way than two of AC/DC’s best! I do find I enjoy taking her to our local used record store!! Love the idea of giveaways by the way!!
I couldn’t agree more, AC/DC is a great place to start! And a very sweet gesture for you to do for your daughter. Thanks for the comment, you’re entered into the CD Giveaway contest.
I really enjoyed this & as you say this is really tough as there are no bad albums. My top 5 (today anyway) are: 5. Power Up ( may be because it’s still new & was such a surprise) 4. Razor’s Edge 3. Powerage 2. Back in Black 1. Highway to Hell
Yeah I considered placing Power Up way higher too because I’m loving it but then I thought about it and felt it was more because it was just new. Not that it’s not great but the other albums have been classics for longer and we’ll have to wait and see if Power up moves up over time.
Great list! Love your take on each album. My personal favorites have to be Back in Black and Powerage and which one is number one completely depends on which one I'm listening to at the moment.
You’re so right! If I did the list on a different day it probably would have been a different order. It really all depends on my mood. I listen to different AC/DC albums for different reasons which means it changes with my moods too.
Great list Brendon, there is a couple of albums I'm not that familiar with so this added quite a bit of interest for me in where they fell in the list in your opinion. I am a big fan of the band however and have followed them from around 1977/8. A great memory for me is from early in '78 when a local band covered "Hell ain't a bad place to be", it sounded great to my teenage ears.
Hi Paul! Well if you’re not familiar with Fly On The Wall that is my favorite. So of course I’d recommend checking that one out. I’m also a big fan of Flick Of The Switch.
Hi Brendon, You are correct, there really isn’t a bad AC/DC album. Fly On the Wall, Flick of the Switch and Powerage are probably my favorites. I definitely need more AC/DC in my collection. I only have For Those About to Rock. I would love to have two classic albums like Back In Black and Highway to Hell added to my collection.
Interesting that your top 3 favorite AC/DC albums isn’t the one album you own or their two most successful albums either. Glad to hear there is another fan who also likes Fly On The Wall. Thanks for the comment, I’ve entered you in the CD Giveaway contest.
You did an excellent job when you are ranking the AC/DC catalog. In this series there is no right or wrong ,because it's a personal ranking and tastes are different. My favorite album by the band is Highway To Hell, because the riffing and the song structures are outstanding. The ryththm section on it is unbelievable and you can hear the record in one without skipping. 👍That's only my opinion.
I bought fly on the wall on the 31th august 2022. It was the last day of the summer holidays and i was out with a friend, it was raining. We stopped at cd shop and i was browsing trough the ac dc bin when i saw this album. I was deciding between that one and flick of the switch but then i bought FOTW because of the cover art and unique sound and mix. I always thought if this album had better production it would be a very respected album. Its a very powerful album my go to for some high volume rocking. My dad has a family jewels dvd and i remember like it was yesterday watching the band performing couple of tracks of the album. I loved the songs and maybe thats why i love this album. It includes one of the most complicated riffs the young brothers ever put on the tape
While I respectfully disagree with most of your list, I love it when you do these kinds of ‘countdown’ videos. It’s still fascinating to see other people’s perspectives on which albums resonate with them, even if I would have a very different numbering.
Thanks Greg! You’ll see a lot more Australian artists as I continue through the collection. I’ve always really enjoyed the post punk scene from Australia. I just picked up a band called The Lime Spiders. And I’m a big fan of Radio Birdman and The Hit Men
I finally found my people. I thought I was the only fan in the world who thinks Fly On The Wall is near the top of the heap. One reason I kept watching was because I was waiting to see where it would end up (tho not the only reason-great, informative review by a true fan). I don't agree with everything here-I think Ballbreaker is stronger, and Stiff Upper Lip weaker (for example). However, I'm with you on the top three, and for most other comments & rankings I find myself nodding. Really enjoyable watch.
Don’t know if you follow me or saw my recent episode of What’s That You’re Listening To….where I feature two major Aussie bands that are not AC/DC. See link if you’re interested ua-cam.com/video/4iEdntTGnm8/v-deo.html so yes ive been on an Aussie kick lately and loving it.
Wow lots of Fly on the Wall fans. It is a great album. I LOVE Shake Your Foundations all I need to say there. Only thing is that they really toned out the vocals. I have the original cd and the 2003 reissue cause I heard they fixed that but I didn't notice much of a difference. As far as the giveaway I have both albums on cd. Highway to Hell the 1994 reissue and the 2003 Back in Black reissue plus the copy in the Bonfire boxset. But if I did win would be worth if you autographed it. I have enjoyed your content and glad I subscribed back along. Keep it up and I am always here to talk AC/DC anytime. They are gods.
Hi Dave, yes it’s been great fun hearing all the Fly On The Wall fans come out of the woodwork so to speak! Great comment but I couldn’t tell if you still wanted me to enter you since you already own them? Let me know, don’t want you to miss out.
16. Black Ice 15. Stiff Upper Lip 14. Rock or Bust 13. High Voltage 12. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 11. Ballbreaker 10. Let There Be Rock 9. For Those About To Rock 8. Power Up 7. Back In Black....the burnout factor is real for me on this one 6. Powerage 5. Blow Up Your Video (yes lol) 4. Flick of the Switch 3. The Razors Edge 2. Fly On the Wall 1. Highway To Hell
In addition to the Australian versions, there are differences between US releases and, for example, European releases. Thus, "Problem child" appears only in "Dirty deeds". I have an early German reissue of "Let there be Rock" which contains "Crabsody in Blue" instead of "Problem child" contained in the US version...
I never liked when labels would do that changing songs from one market to the next. It really wreaks havoc on the bands catalogue and confuses the heck out of the fans. But it also creates some cool collectors pieces too.
Hello Brendon! Awesome job!!! I totally respect that your favorite ACDC album was not ranked at #1. I've only seen ACDC in 2016 with Axl singing. Axl was the right guy and did a fantastic job. He prepared 100% for that role. My earlier ACDC cds are from the 2003 remastered albums that were in digi packs. I noticed the earlier cds in your collection are in jewel cases. Are your ACDC cds remastered from 2003 or from a different year? Thanks, Rick
Yes they are all the remaster editions. The UK or European editions came in jewel cases. One of my record stores started getting them in used so I’ve been replacing all of them. You’re the second person to inquire. If I knew it would be a thing I’d have mentioned it in the video haha!
Great to see all the love for POWERAGE! It's hard rock perfection from top to bottom! Choosing my top AC/DC albums would be like picking out my favorite sons or daughters - can't do it! Next to Led Zeppelin, AC/DC are my favorite band.....riff after riff after riff🎸🎸🎸
Now this was a great idea for you to do. I’m not surprised about your number 1 because it would be mine as well. My ranking albums I will let you know at a later date other then your number 1 which is also my number 1.
I went to relistened to all of the albums, going by the songs I like on each album percentages, this is my personal list: 1. Powerage 2. Back in Black 3. Let There Be Rock 4. Black Ice 5. Highway to Hell 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 7. Ballbreaker 8. Power Up 9. High Voltage 10. Stiff Upper Lip 11. Flick of the Switch 12. Blow up Your Video 13. For Those About to Rock 14. Fly on the Wall 15. Rock or Bust 16. The Razors Edge
1- Powerage 2 - Highway to Hell 3 - Back in Black 4 - Dirty Deeds 5 - 74 Jailbreak 6 - Let There be Rock 7 - T N T 8 - High Voltage 9 - Flick of the Switch 10 - For Those about to Rock * All the rest Tied, because there basically all the Same AC/DC Album
I’m watching this again so I reserve the right to comment again! Also I didn’t leave a ranking last time but my ranking has changed. Also fly on the wall was always my last but I’m finally starting to appreciate it more! (Thanks to you maybe? Singing it’s praises)I’ve always liked the songs (most of em) but the sound I never cared for. I’m putting it higher now! Also I love all of the albums including #16 16)black ice -should be ten songs.rock and roll train is a classic 15)blow up your video- I really like twos up and nick of time! Different for ac/dc I think 14)dirty deeds-feels like a compilation agreed 13)powerage- nowadays people seem to love this but when I was growing up it was always seen as a lesser album. I kinda still feel that way! 12)fly on the wall- playing with girls, stand up,shake your foundations and back in business. This actually has some really good shit! 11)rock or bust- very well executed in my opinion! 10)pwr up- at this point in there career I don’t think they could have done any better! Very deserving of the top ten! 9)flick of the switch- a power house some of the lyrics I don’t find super relatable 8)ball breaker- hard as a rock is my favourite song and I love the ball breaker tour video! I’ve always thought this had a cool vibe but I can see why some don’t like it more! 7)for those about to rock-another album with a cool vibe. 6)let there be rock-overdose criminally underrated! Wonder if they ever played it with Brian? 5)high voltage-my first bon album 4)stiff upper lip-considering most Brian era albums aren’t lyrically mind blowing I don’t really notice much of a drop off? Musically they nailed it though! You were spot on!!! 3)razors edge- can’t disagree with the mistress for Christmas comments 2)highway to hell 1)back in black
My list 1. Back In Black 2. Highway To Hell 3. Powerage 4. Fly On The Wall 5. Let There Be Rock 6. PWR UP 7. For Those About To Rock 8. The Razors Edge 9. High Voltage 10. Black Ice 11. Flick Of The Switch 12. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 13. Rock Or Bust 14. Stiff Upper Lip 15. BallBreaker 16. Blow Up Your Video I really enjoy Fly on the wall. It gives me a vibe that I don’t feel with other albums and I really enjoy the songs. Dirty Deeds, it’s not a bad album, not at all, but I just don’t think it’s their strongest album. They do not have one bad album. All are amazing
That’s a good list. I love Fly On The Wall Too. It’s my favorite album. But in the end like you I couldn’t deny the classic quality of Back In Black. Which is a tremendous album even if it’s a bit worn out for me.
Great thoughts on the rankings , recordings and reasons . Fly On The Wall would be lower on my list because of the drum sound and vocal mix but I get why you like it so much . Flick Of The Switch would be higher for me because it is the last of the albums where they had good lyrics and the recording feels like you are in the room with them . Couldn’t agree more on Blow Up Your Video , bland demo sounding tracks with the exception of Heatseeker and This Means War . Rock Or Bust , Black Ice and Power Up are too clean and sound like they were recorded at the same time . Stiff Upper Lip would be higher also , I think this is the last of the non cookie cutter sounding albums , I love the sound and songs on it , I wish Power Up had that sound . Thanks for the video , any chance you will be doing a part 2 of your collectables/promos video ?
I really hope you respond to this comment because this is the only time I felt like I had a good reason to comment on UA-cam. Your list was almost perfect, but I definitely need to point out some songs from 2 albums that are extremely great. The albums are for those about to rock we salute you and blow up your video. Please listen to these songs and I hope to get a reply from you. Besides the title track from for those about to rock we salute you there are actually six great songs on the album. In order of greatness they would be 1lets get it up 2cod 3snowballed 4spellbound 5put the finger on you 6breaking the rules. It actually took me quite awhile to really appreciate blow up your video mainly because when I was a kid their one hit that I was never really big on was heatseaker. Now that I'm older I can appreciate it more, but besides that song there are seven great songs on the album. 1two's up 2meanstreak 3some sin for nuthin' 4go zone 5that's the way I wanna rock n roll 6kissin' dynamite 7ruff stuff. I hope you'll give the songs a good listen and I would really like to know what you think.
Hi Zack, I know these two album inside and out as I’ve owned and listened to them for over 30 years. As I said as the beginning of the video their are no bad albums. I don’t dislike the albums or songs, I just like them less than other AC/DC albums.
@@BrendonSnyder thank you for commenting and it sounds like you really know your shit with music and AC/DC, but you gotta admit you can't deny songs like two's up, meanstreak, lets get it up and cod. Just out of curiosity what are your favorite top 10 AC/DC songs if you could narrow them down unless your plan to do a show on like your top 25 which which would be awesome. And lastly I was wondering what are your top 10 favorite bands unless of course you plan on doing a show on that.
16) The Razors Edge 15) Stiff Upper Lip 14) Black Ice 13) Ballbreaker 12) Blow Up Your Video 11) Rock or Bust 10) Fly On The Wall 9) POWER UP 8) For Those About to Rock 7) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheep 6) Let There Be Rock 5) Back In Black 4) Flick of the Switch 3) Highway to Hell 2) High Voltage 1) Powerage
1. Let there be rock 2. Fly On the wall 3. Highway to hell 4. Back in black 5. For those about to rock 6. Powerage 7. Flick of the switch 8. High voltage 9. Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap 10. Blow up your video 11. Razors edge 12. Ball breaker 13. Black ice 14. Powerup 15. Stiff upper lip 16. Rock or bust
I guess you’re not a fan of Power Up either then since it’s not in your countdown and Rock Or Bust is in last place. They’re really far better albums than they get credit for IMO.
'Fly On the Wall' and 'Flick of the Switch' ahead of 'FTATR', 'Powerage', 'LTBR', and 'The Razors Edge' is a very ballsy take, but if there your favs then perfect. 🙌
My ranked: 1. Back in Black 2. Let There Be Rock 3. Powerage 4. Flick of the Switch 5. Highway to Hell 6. The Razor's Edge 7. Black Ice 8. For Those About to Rock 9. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 10. T.N.T. 11. Ballbreaker 12. Blow up Your Video 13. Stiff Upper Lip 14. Fly on the Wall 15. Rock or Bust 16. Power Up 17. High Voltage
Hey, Brendon -- I already own both of the AC/DC CDs (say that 3 times fast) that you're giving away, but still wanted to drop an extra comment to help out the channel. Very best of luck with your giveaways. Hope it works and they get you lots of extra likes/subscribers/comments. Let there be rock!!
Nice list. I was fortunate enough to see them in '78 open for Alice Cooper in Knoxville during their Powerage tour. Gotta say both bands back then were phenomenal.
cool video. my favorites: 1 for those about to rock (their most anthemic and manowar-ish-- best songs are the opener and the closer) 2 highway to hell 3 let there be rock (all songs are good) 4 back in black (hells bells, let me put my love, title cut are great; have a drink and giving the dog a bone are junk) 5 dirty deeds done dirt cheap 6 pwr/up (witch's tale, code red, kick you when you're down are some of their very best anthems since the mutt lange-era). Fly on the Wall (Stand Up, title cut, and Send for the Man are killer) and Stiff Upper Lip are nearly as good.
Interesting list and differ #1 than most people select. Also surprised to see Power Up so high. But like you I’m really enjoying the album. I just felt it may be more because it new than it really being a classic but we’ll have to wait and see.
I would have Blow Up Your Video Higher. I really like it so I’d rank it in the middle somewhere. I agree that Stiff Upper Lip is underrated. You have Fly On The Wall surprisingly high, each to their own though.
I guess it’s all in what we connect with. Blow Up Your Video never connected with me the way Fly On The Wall did. But I know it’s less popular than Blow Up Your Video. Still there are no bad albums and depending on mood I go for different albums including Blow Up Your Video when I want something I haven’t listened to over and over.
Ballbreaker, Powerage, Razors, Stiff Lip, Flick, Fly are the ones I listen to the most. Are they the best ?? I guess I don’t care but they are the ones I grab the most. Good review. Thanks
Awesome review.... Flick Of The Switch.. Fly On The Wall... Blow Up Your video Ive always liked.... Who Made Who is a great song as well..... Power Up has only sold 1.4 million worldwide.. seems it's sold more digit
IDK, if it’s platinum in the US I would estimate it has sold about 4 to 5 million worldwide. Maybe all the certifications aren’t in from the different countries.
I’m writing this comment before watching! As a fan of your show I already know that fly on the wall is your number one ac/dc album, that being said I’m almost afraid to watch😳
1. Highway to Hell 2. Let There Be Rock 3. For Those About to Rock 4. Back in Black 5. Powerage 6. Fly on the Wall 7. Blow Up Your Video 8. Flick of the Switch 9. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 10. Jailbreak '74 11. High Voltage 12. The Razor's Edge 13. Ballbreaker 14. Rock or Bust 15. Stiff Upper Lip 16. Black Ice 17. Power Up Something like that.
@@BrendonSnyder It did nothing to me same as Black Ice. Stiff Upper Lip at least pissed me off. Rock or Bust was good cos it was short. Blow Up Your Video is the last AC/DC album they wanted to sound fresh on and with songs like Two's Up they did very well. The Razor's Edge is good for beginners but it's a lackluster album to me.
Great video about how I order it myself a couple of slight differences. Fly on the Wall I keep in the middle of the road only issue with that album is the vocals are tuned out a bit and put more emphasis on drums. I have both 1985 and 2003 reissue and bout the same on that. I like you have Black ice and Stiff Upper Lip up higher than most do. I played the hell out of Black Ice. And where you have Let There Be Rock and Powerage was perfect. I really feel those two albums flow into each other perfect. Powerage picks up where Let There Be Rock ends.
Black Ice was a real surprise for me when it came out with how good it was. A really strong album. And I agree I’ve always seen Let There Be Rock and Powerage as a one two shot.
Good video, but i would personally rank all Bon Scott albums at the top. No disrespect to Brian Johnson at all, his work with the band is incredible too
Hope to add 'Highway to Hell' & 'Back in Black' to cd collection, ( cd giveaway #1). I have both on cassette and Highway to Hell on vinyl but neither of those formats will play in my car. I just bought 'Who Made Who' cd at a thrift store for the car. I would say 'Let There Be Rock' is my favorite album ( 1st record I actually bought myself ( don't have it anymore- to many moves ). Hope you do get a good response to this cd giveaway!
My personal favourite AC/DC is Flick Of The Switch, just asking if you have ever listened to Graveyard Classics 2 by Six Feet Under which they play Back In Black in a death metal style and it just a musical curio which i like.
my 5 favorite ACDC albums are - Powerage - Ballbreaker - Black Ice - Back in Black - Highway to Hell I love all their albums but idk if I really had to pick my top 5 of their best I would choose these although hmmmm dirty deeds done dirt cheap could creep into that top 5 too lol it's hard for me hahaa Flick of the Switch could also get up there lol

Perhaps. I’m really enjoying the album and love it a lot. But I think my fascination with it is because it’s new. When I compared it to the other albums I just couldn’t move those further back in the list. But we’ll see how my opinion of it holds over time. When they put out another new album in 5 years I’ll have to redo the ranking! Haha
Do you watch Notes Reviews? I used to like album ranking videos until I saw his King Crimson rankings where he put all 3 80s albums in the bottom 3, even Discipline. That's like putting Moving Pictures in the bottom 3 of Rush albums and Back In Black in the bottom 3 of AC/DC albums, things that are much more impossible than say the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl or the Toronto Maple Leafs winning the Stanley Cup!
No I’m not familiar with that channel. But those 3 80’s albums are some of my favorite from King Crimson. In fact Three Of A Perfect Pair is my favorite album of their’s.
Hey Brendon, I love your videos! I wanted to enter the giveaway contest for AC/DC's Highway to Hell for a close friend of mine. I have grown my cd collection quite a lot over the past year through supporting local thrift and music/book stores and never have been able to find any 70s rock cds for her without it being just an empty jewel case hahaha. My friend is a huge fan of them and has always mentioned that she wanted to start her own music collection of cds and vinyls but it has been very difficult to find her cds of her favorite bands in my area. The one cd she had, she ended up losing and I know gifting her one of her favorite albums would really cheer her up. My friend has always been supportive of my collection and I would love to help her start her own! :^)
Hi Melanie, my mistake. You did it absolutely right. Thanks for clarifying it with me. I love the gesture you’re doing for your friend. I’ve entered you into the CD Giveaway contest. Good luck!
Hi Brendon, Would like to sign up for the giveaway. For some some reason I don’t have the Back and Black CD in my collection. I have the album, but never upgraded to the CD. Which is really weird because it was a huge influence on me. The album spun on my turntable often (and loud). On a side note I found your comments on the For Those About to Rock CD very interesting. For me personally I found the FTATR songs to be a little fuller in their sound. I would agree that the songs ring similar to B&B, but I find they hold their own and the album definitely belongs in my top 100 albums. The reason it holds a spot in my top albums may be due to remembering listening to the cassette while riding in my brothers car at night which is one of my favorite ways to listen to music. The darkness outside helps the rest of the world disappear. It’s just you, 30’ of road ahead of you and the music. My brother had a great Alpine system that was top of line for the day. So listening to the cassette in that environment cemented the album in my emotional memory. Anyway music is art and everyone sees or hears things differently. Appreciate your reviews as they help me find music I missed, remind me to listen to bands I haven’t listened to in a long time and last but not least keep me current on new releases. Thanks!!
Thanks for the in-depth detailed comment. Oh I think if I were to flesh out 100 albums it could definitely appear in that mix. I do love the album and if I grew up with it when it came out I’d probably feel completely different. Thanks for playing and you’ve been entered into the CD Giveaway contest.
I'm here for the giveaway. I don't kniw loads about them but I sure do know I've been growing up listening to ac/dc and that my brother is a full on fan of them. It would mean the world to not only me but way more to my brother if I get to own atleast one if them too sad that there's none to purchase over here🤧Thank you for the giveaway
I love Flick Of The Switch It’s the most underrated AC/DC album they ever released I love it’s it’s probably my favorite album from them
AC/DC is impossible to rank for me... Because I love them all!!
Can they redo the production over again?
Glad you ranked Fly on the wall and Flick of the switch so high!
They’re great albums and deserve more attention!
Those first couple of Brian Johnson albums post Back In Black are very underrated indeed.
@@BrendonSnyder I agree. Its easier to replace the guitarist than the singer. I felt the same with Van Halen. and Sabbath though Dio did a great job.
Dio was classic with Sabbath and created a whole new band for them. Too bad they didn’t stick it out longer together. I can only imagine if the Dio catalogue had been influenced by Iommi and recorded as Sabbath albums. I think both would have been even bigger.
Solid ranking. I’d have Ballbreaker higher. I’ve always thought it was underrated. 🤷🏼
For an album in 1995 and what was going on with Rock at the time it’s a big accomplishment that they sold 2 million copies in the US.
Every Cd is great
I know what you mean! It was a hard order to decipher. So much great music!
Great ranking except for one thing--For Those about to Rock. That was my first ACDC album and I've always loved it.
We all have our personal favorites.
Hi bud,
There were actually 2 AC/DC albums released under the title of "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" - there is the international release, of which you have shown, the other, which you have not covered, is the Australian release.
About time Fly and Flick got much love.
Chris and I always give those two albums lots of love.
Really enjoy the album rankings, always gonna be different opinions, my opinion, Powerage, like you said “no filler”, love it! Keep up the fine work!!

I'm pleasantly surprised to see you ranking Flick Of The Switch so high. I've never understood why it isn't more well received among fans.
It’s funny because like you I don’t know why it isn’t considered better but so many people have been agreeing with me like you and it makes me wonder how much of it is media/critic driven when the fans really love it.
Nice ranking!

Great ranking episode with excellent insight. Powerage tops my list with Highway to Hell a close second. Keep these ranking episodes coming people love them.
Yeah it sure seems like people are enjoying them. I never gave ranking videos much thought before this but I’m on it now!
@@BrendonSnyder 👊
I just went back through and re-listened to all of my AC/DC discs and revised my personal ratings, so it's cool that you also posted your list recently! Here are mine in order (I own the Australian versions of the 1st 3):

Great channel and great ranking!!
@@BrendonSnyder ok, thanks.
Great video (again). Can't go wrong with AC/DC.
👍 Really like the Bonfire set in background and gato making another cameo. Lol.
Rock n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution is mindblowingly great still.
How the heck did I miss this lol.I love your ranking.Fantastic Choice For Number 1.Dirty Deeds is my favorite AC/DC album.
Haha…I was surprised I didn’t hear from you at the time. Guess this one just slipped by. Im loving Dirty Deeds more these days.
Powerage is my favorite of all time.
It’s a great album for sure!
I really enjoyed this & as you say this is really tough as there are no bad albums. My top 5 (today anyway) are:
5. Power Up ( may be because it’s still new & was such a surprise)
4. Razor’s Edge
3. Powerage
2. Back in Black
Yaaas...Fly on the Wall. The title track is one of my favorite AC'DC tracks!
I know I love the album too. Never understood why so many fans don’t like it.
Well, there's no right or wrong. But wow! Your ranking is certainly unique. Seriously different from my own ranking. But that's music.
Yeah that is the beauty of music! We all hear things differently and come at from a different perspective. It makes the world go around.
High Voltage was the first album in Australia followed by TNT.
Hi Brendon,
You are correct, there really isn’t a bad AC/DC album.
Really great ranking!
No complaints here. Although, my preference would have;
#1 “Highway To Hell”
#2 “Back In Black”
#3 “Powerage”
I could easily go with that ranking too. They have consistently put out quality albums their whole career.
Good to see "Flick of the Switch" at #4. Love it!
It’s far better than it gets credit for. But I’ve been hearing a lot of people who love it which is great to find out.
Yeah it’s all subjective. I grew up with Brian Johnson so I will always be partial towards his era of the band. But there are no bad albums.
I agree. DC have no bad albums. Only good, very good and fantasic!
All are top notch fantastic rock albums in my book!
While I respectfully disagree with most of your list, I love it when you do these kinds of ‘countdown’ videos. It’s still fascinating to see other people’s perspectives on which albums resonate with them, even if I would have a very different numbering.
Yeah and it’s all subjective so we’re never going to match up completely. But when we do it’s a lot of fun!
Cheers from down under Brendon, ACCA DACCA ROCKS 🎶🎸🤘🏼 love your passion for Rock!!
Thanks Greg! You’ll see a lot more Australian artists as I continue through the collection. I’ve always really enjoyed the post punk scene from Australia. I just picked up a band called The Lime Spiders. And I’m a big fan of Radio Birdman and The Hit Men
Nice ranking you have. My top 5:
1. Back In Black
2. Powerage
3. T.N.T.
4. Highway To Hell
5. For Those About To Rock
As an Aussie nice to see you ranking an Aussie Bands albums. Can’t say I disagree with anything you said or the way you ranked them either.
@@BrendonSnyder Yes I did, I am a big INXS fan and I believe the other was Midnight Oil ? Again one of my favourite Bands!
@@BrendonSnyder Ya I will enter besides never have to much of My ultimate band lol.

4. Flick of the Switch
3. The Razors Edge
2. Fly On the Wall
1. Highway To Hell
Nice! Love seeing Fly On The Wall so high!
Agreed. Fly is greatly underrated. Highway is #1. Fun, dark, hard, chill
Now this was a great idea for you to do. I’m not surprised about your number 1 because it would be mine as well. My ranking albums I will let you know at a later date other then your number 1 which is also my number 1.
Glad you enjoyed the video Bill!

Also I love all of the albums including #16
16)black ice -should be ten songs.rock and roll train is a classic
15)blow up your video- I really like twos up and nick of time! Different for ac/dc I think
14)dirty deeds-feels like a compilation agreed
13)powerage- nowadays people seem to love this but when I was growing up it was always seen as a lesser album.
9)flick of the switch- a power house some of the lyrics I don’t find super relatable
8)ball breaker- hard as a rock is my favourite song and I love the ball breaker tour video! I’ve always thought this had a cool vibe but I can see why some don’t like it more!
7)for those about to rock-another album with a cool vibe.
6)let there be rock-overdose criminally underrated! Wonder if they ever played it with Brian?
5)high voltage-my first bon album
4)stiff upper lip-considering most Brian era albums aren’t lyrically mind blowing I don’t really notice much of a drop off? Musically they nailed it though! You were spot on!!!
3)razors edge- can’t disagree with the mistress for Christmas comments
2)highway to hell
1)back in black
thank you for collection Ac/dc the best group of the world angus the best guitarist
You’re welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

I really enjoy Fly on the wall.
Ball breaker isn’t my fav, but it has a place in my heart because it was the first ac/dc album I bought when it was new.
Ahhh…I needed a video for Thursday so maybe I’ll do the promo/collectibles. Let me see if I can fit it in.

My ranked:
1. Back in Black
2. Let There Be Rock
3. Powerage
4. Flick of the Switch
5. Highway to Hell
6. The Razor's Edge
7. Black Ice

Even though Fly On The Wall is low, it’s nice to see Flick Of The Switch so high. That’s another one that I really like.
As a child I didn't really like Bon's voice.
Me too. but I still don’t really like his voice
Great video!
Thanks Andre!
1. Dirty deeds done dirt cheap
2. Highway to hell
3. high voltage
4. let there be rock
5. back in black
Thanks Jared! As always glad to have you joining in and thanks for the continued support!
Nice list. I was fortunate enough to see them in '78 open for Alice Cooper in Knoxville during their Powerage tour. Gotta say both bands back then were phenomenal.
"Whole Lotta Rosie" song from the AC/DC that I like the most
I love the song The Razor’s Edge.
Finally Fly on the Wall getting respect! I love that album.
cool video. my favorites: 1 for those about to rock (their most anthemic and manowar-ish-- best songs are the opener and the closer) 2 highway to hell 3 let there be rock (all songs are good) 4 back in black (hells bells, let me put my love, title cut are great; have a drink and giving the dog a bone are junk) 5 dirty deeds done dirt cheap 6 pwr/up (witch's tale, code red, kick you when you're down are some of their very best anthems since the mutt lange-era).
I would have Blow Up Your Video
Higher.
Thanks
All great ones IMO too!
Haha, you might have thought Fly On The Wall would be number one but you’d be incorrect! But you’re right, it is my favorite.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah I’ve watched now and you did a good job! Very pleased with your placement of stiff upper lip it’s my number five
Ok good! I’m glad it was still enjoyable even though you know my favorite album.
Are there CD Boxes on the left side, where your cat is movin around?
Yes! All filled with 90 CD’s each and there are 48 boxes in that spot.
I need such boxes. How are The dimensions of these boxes?
It just so happens there is a How To video for making the boxes ua-cam.com/video/fbV8Z16nIEE/v-deo.html
Hey brendon you have a great collection what do you do as a job where u lived in new york
1. Highway to Hell
2. Let There Be Rock
3. For Those About to Rock
4. Back in Black
5. Powerage
6. Fly on the Wall
7. Blow Up Your Video
8. Flick of the Switch
9. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
10. Jailbreak '74
11. High Voltage
12. The Razor's Edge
13. Ballbreaker
14. Rock or Bust
15. Stiff Upper Lip
16. Black Ice
17. Power Up
Something like that.
Do you really not like the new album or is it just that all the others are more classics since they have been out longer?
@@BrendonSnyder It did nothing to me same as Black Ice. Stiff Upper Lip at least pissed me off. Rock or Bust was good cos it was short. Blow Up Your Video is the last AC/DC album they wanted to sound fresh on and with songs like Two's Up they did very well. The Razor's Edge is good for beginners but it's a lackluster album to me.
Ok. I just saw this video. They are great and I am getting to know them more.
Thanks for the comment, you’ve been entered into the CD Giveaway contest.
@@BrendonSnyder yay!!!
You Go Darlene, I got Your Back On This One...
@@spaghetti.lee-69 thank you
3.29... cat on your back! 😅 Good review btw!
Yeah my cat was a nut during this one. He kept running in and out and back and forth….made it hard to concentrate while filming haha!
No disrespect to Brian Johnson at all, his work with the band is incredible too
It’s just personal preference. I grew up with Brian Johnson so I like him more.
Thanks for the comment! I’ve entered you into the CD Giveaway contest for the AC/DC as well.
My favorite would be Highway To Hell. It's a perfect storm, a masterpiece
Can’t argue with that!
My personal favourite AC/DC is Flick Of The Switch, just asking if you have ever listened to Graveyard Classics 2 by Six Feet Under which they play Back In Black in a death metal style and it just a musical curio which i like.
No I’ve never been able to get into Six Feet Under.
Anything that was made in the Bon Scott era was nothing short of amazing. Pick one. Can’t go wrong
I feel the same way about Brian Johnson.
my 5 favorite ACDC albums are
- Powerage
- Ballbreaker
- Black Ice
- Back in Black
- Highway to Hell
I love all their albums but idk if I really had to pick my top 5 of their best I would choose these although hmmmm dirty deeds done dirt cheap could creep into that top 5 too lol it's hard for me hahaa Flick of the Switch could also get up there lol
I know it’s so hard right?! Good list though.

Good recap, but I would rank Power Up much higher.
Ahh jeez. This would be a difficult ranking for me. I will say that Powerage will always be my number 1.
Good luck!
@@BrendonSnyder No problem, thank you so much!
Dirty deeds done dirt cheap is number 1 for me it's the first ac/dc I every heard
Cool!
3:28 Have you listened to Ivan Gac sing Brian Johnson songs on UA-cam? You would appreciate Ballbreaker songs more.
Hi Brendon,
Would like to sign up for the giveaway.
1.Powerage
2. LTBR
3. HTH
4. Flick
5. BIB
Great top pick! 🤘
My favorite is High Voltage (1976) because it has "T.N.T."
👍
I'm here for the giveaway. I don't kniw loads about them but I sure do know I've been growing up listening to ac/dc and that my brother is a full on fan of them. It would mean the world to not only me but way more to my brother if I get to own atleast one if them too sad that there's none to purchase over here🤧Thank you for the giveaway
I am a Fly on the Wall fan as well - never understood the hate it gets at all.
