Was stoked to see Carcass make your cut, and None So Vile was definitely a no brainer. Coming on the end of the video I was trying to think of a “play baby killer” joke, so when you gave ‘99 to Devourment I literally threw my hands in the air like my favorite team just scored the game winning goal 😅
Interesting to see your development over the 90ies as you say that your choices were mostly due to sentimental reasons… I feel that for the beginning of the 90ies you chose and mentioned „rather mainstream“ death metal records while at the end of the 90ies you were already deep into brutal death metal. Nice list!
Great video Sean…fantastic picks despite it been very difficult …especially’91 😮may have picked Immolation- Dawn of Possession, saw them play on that tour and that album has always been huge for me Great stuff 💀
Nice choices, and even more so honourable mentions, u mentioned so many i was thinking about. my favorite year has to be 99, so many great brutal releases, my first choice was malignancy since that's what i enjoy the most currently , but you even convinced me it has to be devourment, since that was definetly most influential album for me, that started the search for most brutal sound in 2000 when I first heard it, and for first few years I always came back to devourment coz that was the shit.
I can hang with all this until you get to 98. Mostly 96 really but I love Serpents but once you get to that next phase like DF and stuff it's for the next generation I feel which is probably your generation so yeah fair enough 😂

I still think of you when I hear Babykiller hahah

Thanks. Yeah, I definitely started to appreciate a lot of more brutal stuff as time went on.

Seeing Immolation on the Dawn of Possession tour would've been very cool. Wow
Awesome choices for each year from the 90's.
Thanks. Cheers
Great picks my dude! An almost impossible task to choose just one. Stoked for the next installment.
1997: Dismember - Death Metal, God Dethroned - The Grand Grimoire, Hypocrisy - The Final Chapter
Yeah, it was a tough list to make hahah
I need to revisit the Hypocrisy catalog
Good stuff man! I missed a lot of mid/late 90's stuff. You've inspired me to go back it time...🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm glad. There's so much good shit to find.

That Malignancy is awesome though for sure. It may be my favorite of theirs.
Just discovered your channel! Awesome video really can't argue with your choices from the 90's! Looking forward to checking out your content!
That's awesome. I appreciate it man!
You made the right choice for 91 my brethren
I think so. It was a tough choice
I agree
This would be very hard. Death metal ruled the 90s. It had taken the crown from thrash as king of underground music.
It was quite difficult hahah
Come on '98 has to be... (Kettle drum roll...)
"Also sprach Zarathustra" by - Richard "Trollibobs and Tripes" Strauss.

Fair enough man. We all started somewhere. Some before others. Cheers
U know your stuff
Thanks man
you look like Danny Carrey
I wish I could drum as well as him.
