Congratulations on an excellent finished model! I winced originally when I saw you were building an AZ model because I know these are not the best fitting kits. Then to do something that is a little more complex like this MiG 17 and in a natural Metal finish was no small feat. Excellent job!
Hi mate, that wax anotber great build from a true master of the hobby, well done my friend, and there is nothing wrong with being 'cocky' about your own work, hope you and your family have a great Christmas and a even better 2023, best regards from Australia.
One thing I've noticed, Metodi - instead of cutting the needle away from the plastic part with a rotary tool, you can easily remove it simply by melting the plastic with a lighter (over the sink!). This way you get a clean, round end of the needle without any cutting or grinding :) I do that every time for any gun barrels or pitot tubes. Give it a try and let me know if you like that method :)
Thanks for the tip, I have used that in the past however I always get some kind of hard insulation material or glue that is stuck on the needle. Besides I needed it in a few pieces anyway
@@MMScaleModels well sure, if you need small tubes then you have to cut anyway. I usually get rid of that hard needle glue-blob by crushing it with plyers (not too strong so you don't bend the needle), never had any problems, but maybe Polish needles are different :P
The local hobby shop is selling model masters at half price. They had around 20 bottles of the sealer for metalizer. Next time I go down there I'll pick some up. Maybe even send some out to you.
Very nice plane. Guess I wish I had your patience - I quit trying to make these kits (AZ models / KP) work some years ago and never plan to make anything of this brand again
@@MMScaleModels I think it looks great, it's always a pleasure to see modellers like yourself take on builds of more challenging older kits than just building the latest tamiya offering!
Have you think about trying cutting masks with laser instead of blade tool? There is a company (1manarmy) making stencils for 1/32 planes, that are clearly laser cut. They look amazing. If you have laser cutter it might be worth experimenting with cut parameters to get similar results.
It cuts trough paper very cleanly and I think it will be able to cut the masking tape... but it will cut my matt too so I have to think about a solution.

Thanks mate, appreciated. I skipped on detailing and this made the work flow much better.
Super build. I learnt quite a few things along the way.
Thanks,
Ian
Great, thats always a nice thing to see in a comment 👍
Excellent build, weathering choice patterns and mastering details 👍
Thanks mate 👍

Thanks for your kind words Les, happy holidays to you and your family ☃️
You've got the victory over it!Congratulations on great result.
Thanks mate!
I am still waiting as are we all are, for a finish coat that doesn't tarnish a metal coat, that changes everything in the modelling circles
I guess it is not possible to have zero effect on the finish.
Great result! Merry Christmas 🎅
Thanks mate 👍, merry Christmas an happy new year
Really enjoyed your work. It’s a great motivation for me at least, so thanks
Thanks mate, great to hear that!
Great build, Metodi. Instructive and entertaining.

Cheers.

*Excellent result on this middle quality kit, you did the best with it and it's a success!*
Thanks, I could definitely put more effort in it but I did not see the ROI so... keep it simple was the moto of this build
Great Build !!! Hope you and your loved ones have a Great and Healthy Holidays Season! Best Wishes, Tony
Thanks Tony, happy holidays to you too!

Thanks, me too... after I finish those I already have in the stash.
She looks fantastic. You really did some great work.
But... In the future, you might want to try a more challenging kit 🤠.
Thanks, you are right... that's why I am building THE Phantom next 😉
Great work, having seen all the difficulties you handled along the way I think you can be quite happy with this result!
Yes, it could have been better but then it would have taken much more time... so moving on :)

What an ordeal, but great result overall!
Thanks mate, it was a bit hairy but seems like I managed to handle it 😀
