Pregunta escape 2012 al girar da un golpe o varios como algo quiere e ganchar en el diferencial
Nice job, what type of oil are you add?
Thank you. 80/90 gear oil.
Thank you uploading, was helpful... quinton: 1. how about to remove the old oil from diff with a liquid extractor pump? Without removing a diff gasket. 2. Valvoline 80W90 will be good to use, or actually Ford Motorcraft 80W90 must be used? . I have 06 Escape, 3.0 V6. P.S. I would wait for about 2 hours to let gasket maker dry and refill it after. Thanks again! 👍
Evacuation and dispenser pump.
What is the torque setting for the bolts?
18 lbs was the specification on my vehicle in the video. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it 👍
Does the differential need limited slip additive?
This particular vehicle did not need limited slip. Some vehicles definitely do though. Great question. I hope this helps. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it 👍
whats the second plug on top for?
Vent. 👍
What size of ring gear is in that diff
Unfortunately, it’s been to long ago for me to remember the size.
Is that brake cleaner your spraying on it
Yes
What kind of liquid is in the blue spray can?
It’s called brake cleaner. Available at any part store.
@@HowIFixedIt I the spray can of brake parts cleaner, but after that you were spraying something from a blue container. Were they both brake parts cleaner?
Ooops. Nevermind. Now I see it was the same container.
Why Ford not put a drain plug. But they don't do things to make it easy. I don't have a lift so not as easy. Nice job though.
I appreciate the kind words. They definitely try make it non-serviceable at home. Make’s the dealer more money. Good luck 👍
Doesn't the rag have lint on it that could get left behind inside the gears
Use plenty of brake cleaner to clean out any debris. Thank you for the feedback. Great point 👍
I would tend to put rags up in there too especially while you clean up the mating surface on the diff, covering it with a clean rag will help catch and little metal shards ect then when ur done with initial cleaning it all comes out with the rags then you blast it all out with parts cleaner. I'd think a little piece of lint would be less of an issue than any metal shavings for sure and the cloth fiber would likely break down before it caused problems if it managed to hang around in there. The diff gears aren't as tight as internal engine clearances are where you have to worry about micron sized stuff. I don't remember where I saw it but it stuck with me, something like unless you are in a clean room, clean is always a compromise of using things that won't cause a problem to remove things that will.
I don’t have access to that dremel wheel thing to smooth it out. Just a razor blade ok
A razor works great too 👍
Where is that breather valve that gets stuck?
On the top of the differential. Some are along the axle. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it 👍
@@HowIFixedIt Having it looked at soon! Thanks for the video!
@@HowIFixedIt Had that rear diff breather removed and cleaned today. Ford makes the part but not easy to obtain one.
