I absolutely loved 24a this year. The complex sweet nose front of the palate with the long spice on the back is right up my alley. If it has some more age on it it’d be my perfect bourbon.
I absolutely agree with you! I guess if we want to see how it is with a little bit more age... we'll have to upgrade to the George T Stagg 😆 Happy New Year and cheers~
Great review! When I see a Stagg at MSRP, I'll take it regardless the batch number and can't get too picky about it. Corked on Stearns liquor had a killer Stagg store pick and lucky my buddy gave me a sample to try. Great content as usual David! Cheers!
Stagg is an interesting bottle...I've noticed that the price ranges are usually territorial. I have seen in FL them no higher than 150, KY between 150-190 and in my area of MI...200-225. Now I'm sure there bottles in those areas that go for higher...just what I, and some of my buddies have noticed.
Hey Robert! That is so true. Every region has different distribution and prices follow. California seems to be a good spot for Stagg 😆. Happy holidays and cheers ~
I have both of these. I found a couple of Stagg 24a for MSRP and a 24b for 115. You are right on about 24a. I love it. I have yet to crack my 24b. I did a blind with the Stagg 24a against samples of Stagg 15 and 16. Stagg 24a came out the winner for me. I guess I like the sweeter and lower proof one.
Another great video, David. If you recall I had 2 bottles of 24A and just cracked the 24B open a few nights ago. Both are great, but I noticed the 24B has a better nose that jumps from the glass compared to the 24A, you really nailed the notes! Sittin on the EH Taylor BP Rye but I guess I'll wait to open that one-some mixed reviews. Cheers!
I've been lucky enough to get a Stagg two years ago and a JR years back and I loved them both, this last bottle I literally got a raspberry note on the sides of my tongue I found that kind of fascinating.🥃
@ damn dude. Put on your big boy pants and grow If you look I am a long time subscriber here and live in the same area as these guys and buy a lot of bottles both for myself and fellow local club members. Take your jealousy and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine 😎
@@WhiskeyBank abc state, limited selection and hard to get stuff but when you do it is normally at a great price. Thought I posted this on a UA-camr local to NH originally so sorry about my reply to that jealous guy that you deleted. (to be fair in NH/MA he woulda been flamed for it lol ) We see Stagg at msrp to $400 (crazy price) in Boston area. My purchase was in ME this time so $4 tax
Your deep dive process is appreciated. Still haven't found a Stagg for a price I am willing to pay. Oh course it probably would help if I was out actively hunting. Maybe some day. You're knocking it out of the park my friend ! D
I have the 24B and I really like it…. So if the 24A is just as good or better…. Then I can’t wait to snag one of them as well! Great video! Lucky you sippin two Stagg’s in one night….. also…. Love that new studio! 🥃
I managed to find 24a out in the wild for an excellent price. I grabbed it but haven’t opened it yet. Was super lucky since it’s been a unicorn that was in my “obtainable” short list.
We're not getting any younger and liver is only getting older so it's never a better time than now to have a fantastic pour of that Stagg 24A! Once you do have a pour, let me know how you like it! Happy Holidays and cheers~
Great review. I have 2 bottles of 24A. Still looking for 24B. I was given a bottle of 24B that had maybe 1 or 2 non-Panda pours left in it. I'll compare them🥃
I was fortunate to win a 24A in a raffle. I love the dark chocolate/espresso on the finish and enjoy the lower proof than the earlier releases. Cheers!
The 24A was awesome and don't know why so many people didn't like it. Maybe it was due to the fact it was a slightly "off profile" from a Stagg that people are used to, but I also love that chocolate mocha addition to the flavor punch that makes everything smooth and delicious~ Happy Holidays and cheers~
Fortunately I was able to grab both of them in back to back weeks at SRP. Right place right time. Haven't cracked them yet. But reviews sound promising.
Nice review and comparison. I have Stagg batches 15 through 24B. 24A is my least favorite of them all. Off profile in my opinion. I can drink it, but like the others more. 🥃
Hey Dave! You got the batch 15! Very nice~~~ i need to try this 24A over ice and see what notes I get 😆 Happy holidays and take care my friend! Cheers ~
I absolutely love 24A, I don’t have quite the selection but I have had a decent amount of Stagg. 24 a taste similar to EHT BP. It’s off a bit, but that’s the comparison I think makes me really enjoy it
Personally, I’d love to buy any Stagg, but I’ve never run across a bottle yet & I refuse to pay ridiculous secondary online. I did have a pour with dinner in Lexington though, and it just reinforced that I need a bottle. I was very happy with the pour.
They both suck... Too high of a proof, I can never find them and if I did find one - I'd never spend the outrageous cost for it. I will never understand why people go crazy for burned cardboard flavored rubbing alcohol.
Hey Eric! I'm jealous you don't like Stagg as I wish I was the same...it would save me a ton of money 😂 But people have different palates and there are a lot of people who enjoy Stagg, which unfortunately increases the price 😅 Let's hope there are more people like you so the prices will come down. Happy Holidays and cheers~
I enjoy the extra information you give about the batches and background of the bottles. Just appreciate the additional info.
I'm glad you find those helpful as I do a lot of research to verify I have the right information 😆
Happy holidays and cheers ~
pro tip. first tilt the bottle and wet the cork. then twist the top while pulling.
So I’m not the only one? 😆
I need to remember to do this as I have stopped doing it for some reason 😆
Happy Holidays and cheers~
Great video as always David. Funny that we just talked about this. Cheers 🍻
Did you guys also compare? Which one was your favorite?
Happy holidays and cheers ~

I agree with on the Stagg and I wish I could have visited Corked on that Friday to pick up a Stagg store pick.. oh well 😅 Maybe next year.
24a first ever stagg buy at TW in Delaware. Bought in August $61 so glad i went to store that morning really enjoy it
That was great decision!

Happy holidays and cheers ~
100% i would buy the 24C STAGG
🎉🎉🎉 good to hear I've only had the A myself
Nice ~~~ hope you get to try the 24B and decide for yourself which is better!

@WhiskeyBank You too friend.
Great video David! I enjoy my 24A very much. Now I want to crack the 24B after watching to do my own comparison.
Hey Jim! Let me know which one you prefer once you open the 24B!

Love Stagg.
Never found the 24a but found several of the 24b and at 54 out the door
then everyone clapped

Thanks for comparing. I will pick up anyone I see. With that said, if I have a choice, I will go with the batch you favored. 24a sounds amazing.

2025 will the year of Staggs for you! I can feel it 👍

My batch 12 was transformed into the infinity bottle.
I heard batch 12 was one of the best batches ever... I never had it so I wouldn't know 😆

I wish I could buy one😢 in michigan they want 3 to 4 times msrp
I paid $240 for one… my first stagg.. delicious whiskey.. never worth $240.. sometimes we make mistakes
Oof! Michigan seems to be one of the worst markets for Stagg 😭 hopefully that'll change in 2025.
Happy holidays and cheers ~
I think I have a 23C and a 24A.. and maybe a 24B?? I am not quite sure. 🙂
Hey Mr. Kim! So many bottles and Staggs, you lost track 🤣
Happy holidays and cheers ~
Got a 24B for $150… have yet to crack it. Thanks for the review!
It's still a reasonable price and once you have a pour, you'll realize it's worth it 😆

Got both .. but confused which one should i get a back up for!🤦♂️
Both! 🤣🤣 can never have too much Stagg.
Happy holidays and cheers ~
I got backups for both. Rather have them than need to look for them later on
Thanks for putting how much you would wanna pay. Unfortunately by me it’s min 160.
Hey Dean! Hopefully it'll start coming down in 2025 so you can get one at a reasonable price 🙏
Happy holidays and cheers ~
Have tasted both. I’m no expert but 24A was lighter and sweeter to me. 24B was dark and heavy. Both delicious tho.
You're right that both were delicious and you can't go wrong with either!
Happy holidays and cheers ~
100% agree, 24A is one of the best Staggs in years.
Nice~ it was a great one for sure!

I'll go up to $200 but shipped to my door. It's a hundred-mile minimum drive to any reputable liquor stores, I'd rather save the gas and time.
If that's the case, definitely worth the extra spending to save time and gas 😆
