  • Procedurally generated sci fi visual effect for spaceship panels and hulls, using Blender shader nodes and displacement mapping. Perfect for batch generating NFT's.
    I don't know why I'm writing this.
Does anyone even read the description?

Wow this is one of the cleanest, best presented custom node material tutorials I have seen, and I've watched hundreds :D

i was able to recreate this in eevee, not to as good of an effect but still passable. use a bump node into the principled bsdf instead of displacement, and run the glossy bsdf>shader to rgb>base colour field on principled bsdf. beats manually modeling and slapping plates onto a ship.
its not as 3d popping obviously, but it does look good once you get it onto a model and off a 2d plane

I agree with your method, I use an eevee version quite often myself.

@@sinasinaie super glsd i found this to. Ive been manually modeling and shrinkwrapping plates onto my ships. A process that takes a long time for large ones. Took a ship i was 1/3 done with 600k triangles to just 23k switching to this instead

Hi there, have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/4P97Za7jHig/v-deo.html
For cycles, adding ambient occlusion is still the same for 3.0.

I have a question! How did you make your render preview so clean? In my preview, I see many particles like shapes. they are not as smooth as you are. Btw I am a new.

It's hard to know without seeing your model. But if I were to guess, I would say you need more subdivisions on the plane (described at the beginning of the video).
