There were no human skin lampshades, that is an urban legend. Non of the supposed human lampshades have ever been found to be made of human skin even with modern DNA testing
This is not the human lampshade. As a matter of fact, there probably never was one and if there was, it would have no connection to these people. It is rumored that the wife of concentration camp commander Karl Otto Koch had one made, but it was never found and probably never existed in the first place. I recently took a four hour long guided tour trough the camp were Koch and his wife lived and the guide specifically said that stories about the two were often greatly exaggerated.
The school was in Olsztyn, Poland. So if she made it to 1945 she was no doubt raped and/or killed by the Soviet army as they pillaged their way across Europe.
@@jamiestewart48 I thought this was fiction... Those were actual people and events? I know some say based on a true story, but loosely, that is harsh if true.

The boys are being brainwashed in the school, apart from Nazi propaganda, they are taught to be merciless and cruel when needed. They lure them with ideas of success and higher status. It works well on the main character - Friedrich as he is just a simple boy from a simple background. Albrecht is smart and large minded. He knows what is right and what is evil, no brainwashing works on him. The boys influence each other, but Albrecht is the link that prevents Friedrich from completely slipping away from what is right in the end. Albrecht feels his parents reject him, he is not the kind of son they wanted, the father see his fairness as weakness, which he mocks. Realising he is a disappointment for his parents, and at the same time seeing what he is becoming a part off (shooting young "POW"), he chooses to give up on his life, rather than becoming a part of Nazi evil system, or becoming a shame for his parents. Friedrich is broken by his friends suicide, but it also reinforces the influence Albrecht had on him. He carries on Albrechts legacy, refusing being merciless or cruel. (first box match vs second one). It leads to him being expelled from the school. But all those young boys were used in the final German defence fights and were mostly killed. So Albrecht not only saved Friedrich from becoming the kind of soldier, Nazis wanted to create, but also probably saved his life.
